The Order of the Silver Hand is in danger

The King is concerned about the presence of orcs in Azeroth and tasks Uther with solving the problem by venturing into the realm of the dead to summon their leaders and defeat the orcs. However, Uther himself does not go anywhere. Instead, he sends messengers to Northrend to find the Dalaran assassin, intending to take responsibility for the mission in exchange for a reward. The main character agrees to take on the job for a substantial sum, and along the way, various characters with missions will come across him. These missions will be optional to complete, but if the hero completes them, he will receive various advantages that will help him in the future.

Some of the side quests I created are inspired by the game Skyrim, and some abilities or even locations will be similar.

"ATTENTION" - I made this campaign about a year ago, and at that time, I did not have the skills to import sound correctly, so all the sounds turned out loud, and sometimes very loud. Sometimes this can cause discomfort, but unfortunately, I don't have the strength to search for and redo them all.

"About the gameplay" - At the beginning, you will be given various tasks, and I recommend completing them because you will receive different rewards for them, which will help you in the future. In the first chapter, it may seem very difficult to progress, but don't be discouraged; that is until you level up your character. It will get easier from there.Good luck~~

Do you mean in the sound editor, reducing all sounds, for example, to 50%? If so, I think it's not a good option because there could be a bug. For example, if a player saves the game in a particular chapter and reloads it, the sound will be increased again. Back then, out of inexperience, I started amplifying each sound through a special program, but eventually realized it was better if I hadn't done that. It was my mistake, and I learned from it.

"The Order of the Silver Hand is in danger" - Looks like a short text message (sms). And the previous title of the game I couldn't even figure out what it meant. Even Google Translate couldn't figure it out.
SMS is a short text message that you send from your phone to another person. It is widely used in Viber-like programs and Twitter-like platforms.

"The king is concerned about the presence of orcs in Azeroth and instructs Uther to solve the problem by going to the world of the dead to summon their leaders and defeat the orcs. A nice campaign. Some designs really interest Skyrim fans. However, only the content of chapter 1 is relatively substantial while the rest missions seem to be a bit rough.
+ does not forget, you can acquire pretty good items only in Chapter 1. What you picked up there, was going to be the most helpful items during the walkthrough of the campaign. Only before the last chapter, when the player has any chance to pick up very good items.

  1. Chapter two is also visible from the start.
  2. From the get-go, the player can understand this is not a fitting fan story interpolation but rather a far fetched fan fiction altering of the Warcraft universe.
  3. The intro finishes too early IMO, there could've been more interaction between Uther and Ramsey.
  4. Also, it would have been cooler IMO for Ramsey to actually be a Death Knight. A dalaranian in Northrend makes less sense and also an assassin from Dalaran, even less.
  5. Problem is that it doesn't make sense for Uther to do exactly what he screamed out against, namely go (well, send someone) to that cursed place like the nameless king and Jarl wanted. Two wrong don't make a good.
  6. I like it how the next chapter's loading screen text is the thoughts of Ramsey. You could have explored this much more even in the maps themselves.
  7. Chapter 2 intro is just three one liners with no substance, no background to where they are, what they're supposed to do, nothing. The short talk is pretty much null. However, you suddenly get a main quest about killing frost trolls, again without any proper explanation in the quest log, than the fact that they settled near the place you have to get to. Man, these humans are just racist (Mzulft is my vacation place, not yours trolls! How dare you!? Die!). Also: Mzulft (Skyrim)
  8. Ramsay Bolton!? Really (https://gameofthrones.fandom.com/wiki/Ramsay_Bolton)!?
  9. Mithril Armour's description is incomplete. It doesn't say what it gives for each level. Also, please rewrite the other spell descriptions like in Warcraft III or better since there's visual inconsistency between them all. Also, it doesn't quite make sense that it increases strength rather than armour, maybe it's a sort of magical property? Anyways, it should look passive, not like an active spell. Also, maybe a custom icon since that one is for Mantle of Intelligence assuming the campaign has this item. Also it says it always increases strength by 1.
  10. No reason to rename Footmen to Infantry.
  11. Why does Ramsey have Medium and not Hero type armour?
  12. Silus Vesuius. I find it strange that you use names from other media and not in the Easter egg way. It's quite lazy.
  13. Ramsay selected during cinematic mode.
  14. Mythic Dawn!? What am I playing here, Skyrim meets Warcraft or the other way around? It's not inspired by Skyrim, it's blatant ripoff.
  15. Spectral Pet is just 1 wolf Feral Spirit. Also, the model looks bad, not even spectral as the original.
  16. An issue is your inventory getting full quick that requires your hero to get to the village to leave quest items on the ground. It would be better for non-usable items to just be runes/variables or just have another backpack dummy unit or horse carrier or something.
  17. Where the skeletons come out of the snow, there should be some pathing blockers on the black structures since you can pass through them.
  18. Generally, units selected during cinematic mode.
  19. Nice spice to the game are choices. Creates grounds for replayability.
  20. Weird that during cinematic scenes the hero talks in a way and during gameplay it's totally different.
  21. Well, at least someone reached Mzulft far enough to leave a crate in.
  22. Skeleton Warlord uses a hero model which has glow and no decay animation->body remains on the ground. Same: Sphere.
  23. The Materials optional quest, doesn't feel optional since the ingredients are literally a bit to the south. Also, having to memorize the item properties before selecting them is a bit weird. The option to choose could have been done differently through a shop like unit/building or by selecting one from the ground etc.
  24. LOL, the navigator of Prometheus.
  25. Ratkin also have Slow Poison like Faceless Punishers. I feel some more diversification of enemies is in order.
  26. Odd that some rock chunks are vulnerable, others not selectable; some barrels invulnerable, others not.
  27. During the wait for elevator repairs/setup, some Faceless Runners appeared near the elevator and ran west instead of coming towards the hero.
  28. Dragon Incarnation doesn't have a visible hotkey. It's R though.
  29. Descent of the elevator take too long.
  30. Ramsey selected when talking to Ich'tis.
  31. This chapter is underwhelming, short and repetitive. Could definitely use some puzzles, boss battles, something. Lovely atmosphere though.
  32. So I chose not to sever the big flying eye but the discussion seemed to go in that direction anyway.
  33. The summoning ability in the Black Book doesn't have a description.
  34. You can leave the fight with the Skyrim dragon and head on to the Skyrim lich. Arenas should be locked or something.
  35. No idea why you named the campaign so. It has nothing to do with the Silver Hand or Warcraft aside from Uther and an alleged Dalaran assassin.
A meme campaign with old school RPG gameplay with the biggest downside being most chapters are short and monotonous.

Approved.

Thanks for the review. I'll address the main points in order. Regarding why I chose "The Order of the Silver Hand," the reason is that before creating this campaign, I was playing Skyrim, and some missions and locations from the game stuck with me. I thought, why not implement this in Warcraft? However, I didn't intend to make a Warcraft campaign, so I decided to incorporate a brief scenario involving the Order of the Silver Hand. Since my landscape locations were related to snowy places, I thought it would fit well. I agree that the events that unfold later in the campaign aren't very connected to the initial stages, but at the time, it was challenging for me to come up with something else.

Regarding items that don't fit into the inventory, I had the idea to add a backpack, and I was searching for maps with such features. Unfortunately, I'm not very skilled in triggers, and while I know the basics of events and actions, I don't have the experience to create items or runes through variables. I've learned to create quests with variables, as I've seen tutorials on YouTube about creating various mechanics. In the end, due to my lack of knowledge about certain things, I limit my campaigns in certain aspects that I wanted to implement, but I replace them with something else.

As for the change from hero-type armor to regular armor, I wanted to make hero progression moderately challenging. I wanted any unit to be able to deal significant damage and have it be noticeable.

In summary, this was my second campaign, and when I was working on my third and fourth campaigns, I realized that I had done many things incorrectly (at least those I now know how to do correctly). I know I would change a lot of things, but there's already too much done in a way that it seems pointless to change. I wanted to show that transferring locations from Skyrim to Warcraft could be beautiful, but I didn't want to do it through screenshots; I chose to create a campaign so players could explore similar areas.

I know how important good feedback is, so I'm trying to give as much as possible (and hopefully useful advice as a fellow mapmaker):
WALL OF TEXT & MAJOR NITPICKING INCOMING !

-Played the ? (downloaded the 29/8/2023) version on normal difficulty on my 1.27 game version-

-the title is too long so it's cut in the map menu
-the setting seem to be in warcraft with the title and Uther but also the elder scrolls ? :confused:2It doesn't make much sense for the paladins of warcraft to seek help with the dead since the orcs from the first 2 games or the Scourge are the one that usually do
-it's a bit strange to play a guy named like arguably the worst psychopath in Game of Thrones – also is it Ramsey or Ramsay ? At the end you say “antihero” so I suppose he changes in the series ? In the book he's a complete monster throughout
-the english would need some proofreading
-the wolf summon stay behind in formation while you want it to tank
-the footmen are almost useless especially since you can't heal them
-quest items really shouldn't go in the inventory, there already is a ton of items to pick and choice is tough (it's a good thing) : make them disappear when the hero picks them
-so many bosses or big enemies have stun ! Getting stunlocked is not fun at all when your heroes's health goes down so quick... and you get a couple of items to also do it with the speed ability so it turns into stunlock : the game
-strange to have to take an ability to increase the armor instead of having an armor type that doesn't completely suck from the start
-some runes would help with the constant waiting for mana and HP – I remember only one being dropped after a group of pretty easy trolls (since they do piercing damage they can't do much to the hero)
-the abilities are really badly balanced : the first 2 are good, the +1 strength is a trap, the defense and speed buffs are useful but way too expensive in mana for what they do compared to the wolf and impale
-on the plus side, the terraining and cutscenes + music and sounds used are even better than the 1st campaign
-strange that you can refuse the trader side quest once and it's lost forever
-the difficulty is very hard if you don't you get the pandaren's items or take anything other than the wolf at lvlup – or whenever an enemy can take control of it
-one of the spiders seem to be stuck between 2 cliffs, you can still attack it in melee but only with 1 unit
-the boss is a troll in both meanings of the word because he won't. Ever. Die. with his potion + ultimate that heals + resurrect
-what's with the guy with the elven boots ? I've never seen him again after I picked them up
-I wasn't expecting to see a faceless space jokey from Alien
-the illithid-like enemy is pretty cool at first with mirror image and the way you want to avoid using the wolf since he use it to heal, but too much health and too many of them
-the forgotten ones have unlimited tentacles (like vanilla) + can stun you + can take your wolf, that's too much IMO, in the undead campaign you had 2 heroes + units
-I don't know if there is a way to avoid the fights + trap at the end with the 5 levers ? The name in russian was the same so I doubt there is a particular order to hitting them – also the levers should « die » in 1 hit
-enemy immune to magic are no fun in RPG maps
-the weird atmosphere of this map is so great, I wish there were more non-combat stuff/puzzles, which would fit here, outside of the 1 switch you get
-the tentacles that the AI want to attack are really annoying for the part where you need the wolf on the switch (not too bad) and especially when you get teleported : you might want to have the camera center automatically on the hero after, so the player has time can react immediately
-I love the choices in this campaign, but having a dialogue option in cutscene immediately before saying “Joking, you have no choice here !” is bad, just have the character protest in the cutscene and the eye guy ? god ? Whatshisname the unfathomable say he will imprison him forever if he refuses or something
-the 3 maps are very small and look the same so they should probably be fused into 1
-using the black book also automatically summon the wolf and vice-versa, I suppose that's not intentional
-the black book has only one spell so better make it cast like any other item instead of a submenu
-so many mines with the dwarves ! no way to see them and unavoidable damage is no fun : sure you send the summons first but it's not very interesting
-the entity silence ability is useless even on the wizard boss, you would think he would cast spells
-most of the sharpshooter's dialogues are not subtitled
-one says to release the sphere but it is way back with other groups, I don't know if it was supposed to attack you ?
-the eye guy should probably have a portrait when he talks in cutscenes (you can use hidden units for dialogues of units you don't want the player to see)
-since the gameplay is mostly “get a few hits in, then flee when low on health”, the spider slowing you down is super annoying, but a bit less than the stuns at least
-the frost orb effect stays on the ground after the spiders are long dead
-the moon key stays after use
-no music at all on map6 feels weird even if it's on purpose
-the lich boss doesn't cast any spell and has magic damage so it's way easier than the other bosses, don't know if it's intended
-the shadowlands look exactly like the maps before, a bit disappointing after they've been teased form the start
(+): visuals are really good : terrain, custom resources used, cutscenes
(+): music and sounds make great atmosphere
(+): story is sometimes intriguing with the weird daedra from Elder scrolls

(-): difficulty is unbalanced depending on your pick of abilities and any enemy that can counter you wolf is way harder
(-): the combat is mostly getting stunlocked until you get killed, reload until you get lucky + boring bosses with huge healthpools

neutral: 2 choices are impactful : the daedra/museum guy and the gnomish item, but later you get a false "no, but yes" one

Thank you for your feedback. I'll address some questions about the game that haven't been discussed yet. Regarding balance, yes, some players have mentioned that there are too many stun abilities and powerful monsters. I did reduce their strength, but it seems I forgot about the stuns. This can happen when creating a map and you place stronger and more numerous enemy units, thinking it will be too easy for the player, but it ends up the opposite.

As for the levers, yes, I had the idea to make them cyclic, but I'm not so strong with triggers, so it turned out the way it did. I increased the health of the levers because a player can quickly break them and immediately head to the portal, which I didn't want to happen.

Regarding the Black Book, I initially planned to include two or three spells in it, but as it was noticed, when summoning the Faceless One, it calls a wolf-like creature, which is similar to one of the cooldown abilities. I tried to fix it by assigning the spell to a different key, but it didn't work out. So, I left it as it was, and that's why there was only one spell in the book. I wanted to add three spells that would summon different creatures, but it would have been confusing.

When Ichthys the Unfathomable spoke to you outside of the "Apocrypha," I decided not to add his portrait during the dialogue. The idea was that he was connecting with the main character from his own world, not directly.

In Chapter 6, I didn't add music; instead, I included the sound of frost (in the musical composition). If I had placed the frost sound in the regular sounds, I would have had to play it cyclically at intervals, which might have caused the game to freeze.

Now, about the dialogue choices with the Faceless One, from the very beginning when I created this campaign, I designed it this way: if the player refuses, they are then moved to one map, and if they agree, they go to another with the Black Book. The transfer itself worked, but players told me that in such a case, all skill achievements and items were lost. I understand how frustrating that can be, so I made it so that regardless of the dialogue choice, there is only one map, and items are saved.

I agree that the other maps are too small compared to the first two. At that time, I didn't have the energy to come up with something for them, and I wanted to release it as quickly as possible. Even in the first chapter, it may seem huge, but it was originally smaller. I constantly added to it, additional quests, and expanded the terrain, that's how it turned out. That's about it)

  • I've never used the spellbook, but the wolf being summoned at the same time must be because the same spell is used as a base which makes both activate when using one
  • sounds can be put on loop in the sound editor : you just need to trigger it once at the start and it won't stop until you tell it to, and you probably shouldn't use music as sound and vice-versa since some players may cut the music or at least have different volumes
-I wish that I thought about hitting all the levers fast and running to the portal, this series of fight + arbitrary damage was not fun

It was a fun little experience, and playing the game with russian voice acting was something I've never experienced before. It's basically Skyrim, but a lot of effort went into building the maps even though they offer a brief experience.

What bothered me the most (bothered might be a too strong a word) was the audio where the microphone was overloaded resulting in a very annoying sound (like the overly long wolf howl in the first map, and the growl in the underground mine map) even though it served for immersive purposes.

The hero Ramsay is a little bit underpowered for such a fairly difficult experience that later on takes a sharp turn into a standalone experience. For starters, I don't understand why he couldn't have Atribute Boost (+3 to all stats) instead of a skill that only gave him 4 points of strength while fully upgraded.
The wolf companion wasn't very powerful in my opinion, it could have used a higher health pool and something else besides a chance to crit.
I lost the Footmen I was given because the mobs were overly strong and humble non-moded units don't fare well against enemies with high attack score or chaos type damage. These enemies also made the "ultimate" where Ramsay got a lot of armor ineffective since enemies hit rather hard.
The game also takes away the book that allowed you to summon an "Entity" that could have been helpful later on and I wouldn't be forced to run away all the time.

Overall, it was a rather fun short campaign with many details in each map that I found very unique (like a barrel that prevented a cog from turning).

May I ask what's got updated? All I know, the description is full russian now.
Hello, during editing, I enabled automatic translation on the page because I couldn't understand one button, and apparently, after clicking save, it activated, which is strange. Regarding changes in the campaign, they are minor, and I was thinking of not mentioning them. I watched how one person played it on YouTube and noticed a flaw, namely, I modified it by removing the troll's resurrection ability, making infantry slightly stronger, adding a box near the town with spirit healers, and also reducing the criteria for troll shamans near the heart.

So i downloaded this map earlier and so far chapter 1 is pretty fun but i can't seem to get the 6th optional quest. I already finished the Crypt Heart quest, the razor quests, the Pandaren quest, and the trader quest but i can't get the last quest to show up.

edit: also what's with the doors of death?
