Dwarf Rifleman (Model)

The forehead quite tall for a Midge-Dwarf..
Otherwise is a completely decent model, his face looks out of place and reminds me of goblins because of the tall forehead but maybe some inter-breeding been going on?
Though who am I to judge one dwarf's taste.

Or maybe this white-haired old dwarf is bald.

My personal rating:
Pros:
+Loads of animations (many usage possibilities!)
+Both dissipate and decay animations (choice of hero or unit)
+Morph both complete and polished
+Badass portrait
Cons:
-Doesn't look like my grandpa

To summarise, I love it! :vw_love:

Wow, this is... Really, intriguing? I am impressed and confused in equal measure.

The model is great, the mesh & textures are all in the right place as per your standards, the Decay/Dissipate is, as always, wonderful; the dual set of Ranged/Melee animations is always super-great (wish more modelers would do that).

My biggest problem is the problem I always have; your models have a particular 'style' which, while good, doesn't particularly look comparable to in-game styles (that is to say, too well-done, too high-poly, etc).

However, this isn't a problem when considering this guy as a Hero; he's got just about the right level of detail & number of anims for it. Except... What about this guy?? Now I'm really confused as to which to use. : )

Coupla' questions:
  • What is he throwing in his Spell animation? Rope? A Bear Trap?
  • Why in the world does his gun shoot green stuff?
  • Spell Two Alternate is... him digging his knife in the dirt?

Either way, pretty cool model, man.

OMG...you have no idea how long I have waited for this model...how can I thank you? It's exactly what I needed:D

You have seen this, right? I mean, this is really good for reasons I stated above, but yeah...

Yes I have seen that model in question - while the Rifleman Elite model fits better with the overall Warcraft 3 Theme it has Hero Glow and no Decay animation (hard to use a an unit as I have no modelling experience). This model also has a Quick Melee/Ranged attack as a spell not just as an alternate animation. However I must say that some animations just lack a kick to them, though this is less visible in this ranged model compared to Direfury's melee orientated models.

Also, Direfury's Dwarf Rifleman has a filesize 4 times smaller than the Rifleman Elite. I am not looking for a Hero Model but a Rifleman captain unit.

Have I ever told you that you make the most suitable and low size but still perfect models?! Well I am doing it now. You are the best model creator!

Maybe both? I'm doing so :D Rifleman Elite as my hero unit, this guy as his companion.

-For me it looked like a landmine, but I'm not sure.
-Are you sure it's green? In my game it's yellow/orange, like usual muzzle flash.
-That looks like a basic way to check for landmines if you have no metal detector. Stabbing ground with dagger/bayonet is not strong enough to set off mines prepared for infantry, otherwise they would trigger on rabbits and such.

The site viewer is bad with particles. Other than that, he throws a rope, which is a good stand-in for Ensnare spells, and in the alternate form, he kicks up dust to blind or disorient his opponent.

Other than that, I wanted a very simple "He's reloading" animation, not something perfectly accurate.

I always wondered how they reload guns in lore and how the ammunition look like. Everything is so obfuscated and nothing clear really.

I would say that they use cartridges with metal casing - what we use since almost beginning of 19th century, just a bit primitive. If we consider World of Warcraft as a part of the lore, there are different types of ammunition (slugs, pellets), what means these guns are most likely resembling shotguns.
But truth, nothing really is clear in the lore after all, especially smaller parts.

Ah, good. Then it sounds like this is just the right model for you.
