Hello everyone!
A few days ago I published the new chatroom (http://chat.hiveworkshop.com) which is located on our new server which we've decided to call Hurley. The new server will help us stay below bandwidth limits and also share the work between the servers.
A good thing about the new chatroom is the 0.6 second delay instead of 2.5 seconds. And also the automatic fullscreen mode.

I hope you all like the changes taking place.

I am currently developing a brand new models section which eventually will replace the current one. I will ofcourse import all our current models.
The new models section will feature:
- Easier displaying of models
- Icon view
- Option to select how many resources per page
- Better searching
- Comments = Posts which means you can report and give people rep for their model and comment.
- Search username with automatic name suggestions
- Hopefully less buggy upload page
And much more!

Well the results are done for the Cinematic Mini-Contest #1, and we have our winners. Congratulations to both ragingspeedhorn and Waldbear, who both tied for first place, with their cinematics The Escape, and The Premonition. Both their overall scores are 67, followed by Winter's Veil, which was created by Jaakko. The third place winner is UchihaSasuke.gr, with The End Of The Curse.

Aeroblyctos, the creator of Awesome Robbery was disqualified from the contest, as he created another account to vote for himself in the poll.

If you want to download any of the maps just click on their mini-map icon. For the rest of the maps, and their scores, there will be another post in this thread with a list of all the other entries, with their scores and reviews. Congratulations again to ragingspeedhorn and Waldbear, and to everyone else who participated in this contest. ragingspeedhorn and Waldbear will each be receiving their rep and award icon soon, and the rest of the winners will also be receiving their rep soon.

JUDGING SCORE:
47/60
VOTES: 20
OVERALL SCORE: 67

Cameras Movement/Positioning:
+ The cinematic was in first person, which is something that not many cinematics have done in the past, but I think you have done it well in this cinematic (+2)
- Sometimes the cameras move a bit to fast for my liking, and sometimes it would do strange things, that didn't really look very realistic (-1)
Score: 6/10

Units / Animations:
+ Whenever I saw the chaser, he would always be moving, which adds to the feel that your being chased by someone (+1)
Score: 6/10

Terrain/Environment:
+ The lighting was excellent, it added to the feel a lot. (+1)
+ There was good detail in the terrain, although not all of it was completely visible because of the lighting, it looked really good (+1)
Score: 7/10

Sounds/Music:
+ Good music, that suited it well and hasn't been used before (+1)
+ You could hear the person breathing, which I think was a very nice addition to the cinematic (+1)
+ Footsteps and a whole heap of other sounds added a lot to the atmosphere of the map (+1)
Score: 8/10

Storyline/Dialouge:
+ I liked the basic story that you had in this map, with someone trying to escape from someone else, but then getting caught and getting killed (+1)
+ The dialouge was mostly good (+1)
- I didn't like the dialouge bit at the end, I think that he was basically just repeating himself a couple of times, which I didn't really like (-1)
Score: 3.5/05

Entertainment:
+ I found this cinematic very entertaining, and unlike many of the other cinematics that I had to watch a lot to do the judging, I never really got bored of this cinematic (+2)
+ There is no boring intro bits or anything like that in this cinematic, it gets straight to the chase and keeps on going until the end of the cinematic (+1)
Score: 10.5/15

Drama:
+ I think that because of the atmosphere you created in this cinematic, using lighting, terrain, sounds and basically everything else in the cinematic you have made a good dramatic cinematic, and I liked it a lot (+1)
Score: 6/10

+ / - MODIFIER:
+ The cinematic was always full of action, and never slowed down (+1)
- There was a bit at the start of the cinematic, where it shows the normal game screen, you should make it start cinematic mode using the map initialization event, so that doesn't happen (-1)
Score: 0

Score: 8/10

+ The Rocks rolling down the Hill look very nice (+2)
+ All of the animations and units used in this cinematic looked good, I liked the jump system you used as well to make the units jump (+1)

JUDGING SCORE: 29/60
VOTES: 11
OVERALL SCORE: 40

CAMERA MOVEMENT / POSITIONING:
- Slow Camera Movement (-1)
- To much Rotation. (-1)
- When the person used the fire spell, and the Camera started shaking, it kept on shaking, even after he had blinked away and the spell ended. I thought it looked a bit weird doing that (-1)
Score: 2/10

UNITS / ANIMATIONS:
+ The Wizard blinks to the start, which means less time and saves people having to watch her run down to the Beastmaster. (+1)
- The Beastmaster turns almost instantly at the start. (-1)
Score: 5/10

TERRAIN / ENVIRONMENT:
- There was no fog (-1)
+ There were birds and other animals like that running around in the background, which I think was a nice addition (+1)
- Wasn't really any sought of detail in the background, just a couple of trees, although at least there was something in the background (-1)
Score: 4/10

SOUND / MUSIC:
+ The custom music used did fit in with the Cinematic well enough (+1)
- No Voice Acting (-1)
Score: 5/10

STORYLINE / DIALOUGE:
- I thought that you used ... to many times at the end of each sentance (-1)
Score: 1.5/5

ENTERTAINMENT:
- The cinematic, especially the battle was way to slow in my opinion. Should of been spread up a lot. (-1)
Score: 6.5/15

BATTLE:
- Personally I thought that the battle was a bit slow. (-1)
+ Special effects looked nice (+1)
Score: 5/10

+ / - MODIFIER:
~ There was a Typo in the Map name. I won't take any points of for it, since it isn't actually part of the cinematic, but I thought I would point it out anyway. (0)
