CG to CoD, guess the public poll result was too overwhelming. Thanks to everyone who voted on BEER BEER :D

P.S.: just one tiny detail, the poll addition counts aren't correct, self-votes are counted there. Apart from that, thanks for the contest!

Anybody who wants to make Heavenbound better has my permission to do so (I'm not positive about 13lack.1)ragon but I'm sure he would agree with me since were both tired of working on that map). It is rather tedious, but if you think of any cool trials you can add onto it. I'm pretty much done with it lol. He said it leaked in some places. I would like to see a leakless version with better terrain and some new trials XD

Hmm well i'd recommend something like:

Starts mid/end November / Ends mid/end January.
Might be the optimum time:

  • First few weeks (Still with school/work)
Find a partner, draft up with some ideas, getting all the planning together and out of the way.
  • A big holiday comes
Time to do all the work on the map, if not the vast majority.
  • Final weeks (school/work starts back up)
Polish up the map adding final details and extras, fixing bugs etc.

==

Congratz to Doctor-Pepper and Madome.
Well done!!!

I guess I wont make a minigame this time. Sounds cool I got some ideas for a map.

Thats gonna be a bit difficult, because i'm thinking of having it so its Mini-Game maps this time, so that its not the same contest over and over again, and theres some difference between them. Another thing that I might do (thanks to Fulla for the idea) is to encourage people to make a map like Uther's Party, which would allow people to make a larger map if they want, or just to stick with one small mini-game.

I and Diablo-DK lost because we didn't have enough time, my family moved to a new house, and took us a long time to get the power back online. Our map is Insurrection.

But even if we have lost, I'll still continue it. It's cool too and I made a variety of changes to the Game Interface, meaning this map will serve as an example to my Game Interface tuts.

By the way, Insurrection is a 3v3 map, you'll select a race and select a unit category. Then select your hero to lead your forces against the opposing player in your lane, or in the lanes of other players fighting each other. To win, you have to destroy the fortress of the "Leader" (Main player) of the other team to win, or there are a variety of game modes to choose from.

Anyway, congratulations to you Doctor-Pepper and Madome and your map, City of Drugs. You two have done a great job.

I'll wait for the second Paired Mapping Contest and do good next time.

Thats an idea Dreadnought, but I am going to be doing a Party style map this time, and maybe for the 3rd contest or something an RTS or something like that.

I don't really see how you could make your own resource system though, I mean it would be to difficult when it could easily be done using the wc3 system.

For me it would be difficult to make an RTS, but thats because I already made 2 original races in another game :p

However what I meant by resource system is, an RTS isn't an RTS unless it has a resource system. In other words I was stating rules...
You could use the control point resource system though, where you have to capture these structures that give you gold every second or something.

The thing about making a good RTS is realizing that you cannot be 100% original. An RTS with no guns, bows, swords, axes, or spears would be pretty lame. You just need to think of unique "combinations" of units and some unique abilities. Also highly reccomended is special armor + damage settings. Such as FIRE damage does bonus against WOODEN armor. RTS's are very very open. Why do you think Blizzard keeps making them?
