Yea Pyrite I know its something to do with gifs, I have tried fixing it by using png files, which don't have the same problem, but IE doesn't support transparency in pngs at all. Not sure if they have fixed it yet though in the new version.

Odd, because my old pig avatar was a .png and it was transparent :S

I think transparent .png is supported in IE7. Not sure.
