Cries of the Druid DEMO

Taking place 20 years after the events of Malfurion's Quest,

The night elves finally achieved true victory after the defeat of the Burning Legion. With their duties fulfilled, the kaldorei can finally find peace and solace now that Azeroth is truly safe. Malfurion Stormrage and Tyrande Whisperwind decided to settle down and spend their days at Astranaar, and now they are parents ever since Malfurion's son, Malore, was born into their lives. The two took care of the child and taught the child the ways of the kaldorei and a druid, so that one day Malore could be as humble and wise as his father.

Now, in the present, Malore, in his 20s, is out of the wilderness, protecting as much wildlife as he can. Until he sees something sinister amongst the trees...

(IMPORTANT: YOU MUST PLAY THIS ON VERSION 1.29 DUE TO ISSUES ARISING WHEN PLAYED ON HIGHER VERSIONS. JUST TO PLAY IT SAFE)

- 4 maps (3 missions + 1 interlude)

(Note: The plot is still a WIP. This isn't final. This is also a DEMO.

Cute for night elf fans. Would have been nicer if the techtree wouldn't resemble the original one so much. Approved. If you want more reviews, you should participate in the The Grand Review Exchange! R U L E S Site Rules Map Submission Rules M A...
I played the first chapter of this campaign in version 1.27 and it's not clear if some of the issues I'm having are related to version bugs:
(1) Some of my subjects who should have joined appear to be hostile
(2) I was unable to rescue the imprisoned sentinels
But there are some other problems:
(1) The background is thin, I only know that this man is the son of Malfurion, but I don't know anything about his background, or the situation after the war, of course, this may also be related to the fact that the Sentinel Line is not completed, but from the current point of view, the power of the Legion should be defeated, and Naga and not Satyr may be more reasonable as the main villain
(2) Lack of original skills, almost all skills are just original skills, just change icons, and there are no new items
But overall, the terrain and the movie are well done and have potential.

I think that IS version bugs, because those are impossible to fix...

I think Naga are just "overrated" at this point as the NEs enemies, Satyrs needed more spotlight, but I'll think about the Naga soon...

That's the point of a DEMO, buddy...

Anyways, thank you for your feedback!

so which version should I use?

To add: why I think it's okay to join Naga is that Satyr's story is relatively thin, and if you make them the only villain, you have to create a lot of stories and characters, which is difficult for new authors. The second is that Naga's forces are also better preserved in the storyline of the campaign.

I played the first chapter and seen the interlude and I must say that this campaign is promising however I have one thing to mention :

You said this campaign is after the events malfueron quest campaign which means shandris and Maiev shouldn't exist in your campaign since both of them died before the event's of malfueron quest

I realized that a few days ago...

That will remain unchanged tho, but the head canon will.

Well, well, well.
As @Yousef said: "A sequel to Malfurion's quest came out before Malfurion's quest!"

Even if Turnro did not finish his campaign yet, it's always nice to see that somebody's creation inspires fanfictions about them, especially playable sequels like this one.
What can I say about your campaign, @PMC Revenant? I will begin with the silly remark.
  1. ...Why do two chapter cinematics begin with the words "Ah, how beautiful the forest in this part..."? It looks like Malore is either easy to impress, or doesn't remember that he already found 'the most beautiful part of this forest' chapter before.
  2. I couldn't research updates in the Ancient of Wisdom in chapter 2 due to errors with tech requirements.
  3. Malfurion's base protection is weird: sometimes he ignores attacking owlbears, sometimes he attacks them. If I remember correctly, Uther in Chapter 2 of "Scourge of Lordaeron" campaign didn't get stuck when your base is under attack.
  4. Malfurion finally got a son, huh? Sorry, Illidan, it seems that you wasted your chance with Tyrande.
Overall, this is a smooth demo, without any difficulty to play, with pretty big trees to block vision, with quite powerful Keeper of Growth Spirits enemy heroes.
Looking for more.

It's not a big deal. It's just Malore expressing the beauty and serenity of the forest because he's a druid.

I couldn't research updates in the Ancient of Wisdom in chapter 2 due to errors with tech requirements.
That's weird. During testing, the upgrades DID appear in the Ancient of Wisdom. Maybe it's version bugs

That was the case for Uther as well in that campaign.
Malfurion finally got a son, huh? Sorry, Illidan, it seems that you wasted your chance with Tyrande.
Bro, he already WASTED that chance long ago.
pretty big trees
I took that page from Sevenblood
Keeper of Growth Spirits enemy heroes
Let's just say, you'll see them again in future chapters.
this is a smooth demo
Thank you! You're feedback is really appreciated 👍

Also, if you have played the interlude and chapter 2, just letting you know that I somehow can't access the videos. I only saw Chapter 1.

About videos - don't worry, they will be released shortly. Perhaps today, perhaps tomorrow :P

Alright, per author's request I make this little review for this July 27 update.
Let's not talk about the storyline since it's easily subjected to Malfurion's Quest progress.
The techtree is okay, just one minor problem - Glaive towers requires the Night Lodge which will hinder from building them in the early game, especially when you have to wait for the main building in Chapter 3.
Here's the playthrough!

my feed back and review:. demo worked smoothely to the fullest for me on patch 1.31. well crafted maps ,quests etc, kudoes. looking foward to the full campaign. keep up the great work! the custom spells , models and character dynamic added to it too.

Cute for night elf fans.

Approved.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

Here are several suggestions:

  1. It is hoped that a tech tree and appearance similar to those in the Malfurion request can be adopted to enhance the sense of plot immersion.
  2. The size of the mod (such as trees) should be as close as possible to the traditional version, as the current one seems to greatly obstruct the view.
  3. It is suggested that more side quests and landscapes be designed in the map to add interest

Well, well, well.

I completed your newest chapter, and I can note the next set of interesting stuff I noticed:
  1. There is no option of creating empty heroes if you load a chapter without saves. I manually edited this level to address these issues.
  2. Remulos AI is drunk. I don't know if this error is Warcraft 3 Reforged-related or not. Anyway, Remulos loved to start his attack, then probably say something like "nah, I'm done" and go back to his base. It was hilarious, and luckily, the chapter was easy enough to complete without his help.
  3. Is it intentional that I cannot go back when I reach Remulos' base, right?
All my previous statements for the demo remains, maybe outdated for a bit, but still - gameplay was smooth and not long to become boring and repetitive.
