It's a kind of exploding star. Originally I made this for one of my AoS heroes, but after some modification I decided to upload here.
The inspiration came from the 'Shattered Shadows' spell of the Sorcerer/ess class from Warhammer Online. He/she conjures dark energies around a target, forming a swirling sphere, that grows a little, then with a purple flash it explodes into hundreds of black pieces, causing a dark shockwave in the meanwhile. It was my favourite spell
