After the Cataclysm began, Thrall left Orgrimmar to undo Deathwing's actions against Azeroth
and the Elemental Plane. In his stead, he appointed Garrosh Hellscream (son of Grom) as Warchief
of the Horde. After the discovery of Pandaria, Garrosh sent out excavations to discover the
treasures the land had to offer. In the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, the horde discovered
the sealed heart of a deceased Old God, Y'Shaarj. In spite of the danger of the artifact, Garrosh
threw the heart into the vale's pools and absorbed the power for himself. He returned to Orgrimmar,
preparing to conquer all the races in his way–including the races of the Horde. Left with no other
choice, both the Alliance and Horde rallied together in a siege against Orgrimmar. Garrosh
was defeated, and Thrall lifted Doomhammer to deliver a fatal blow. However, Varian stopped Thrall,
claiming that Garrosh's punishment was not Thrall's decision. The Pandaren decided to have him
stand trial for his war crimes, to which both Thrall and Varian agreed.

Before Garrosh was tried, he was unexpectedly freed by Wrathion and Kairozdormu.
They sent Garrosh back in time to Draenor's past, and he warned the Orcish clans against
drinking Mannoroth's blood (thus, preventing their corruption). A new dark portal will be
erected, linking the alternate timeline back to present Azeroth. With it, Garrosh seeks to
create a new world order, alongside his father: Grom Hellscream.
Time changes.

Funmap Event #4

This Friday starts the combination of two epic events once again.

Event 1 - 24h Mapping Challenge

From 15th to 16th August 8pm to 8pm (UTC+2).
Here is an online countdown timer.

Creating epic maps takes a lot of time and dedication, are they to depict a lot of ideas and detail in order to build up a coherent, strong personal piece of art.
This event shall offer some diversion and the chance to try out something new, maybe even be inspired and broaden one's scope.

The general process:
As soon as the timer expires, Waterknight will role the conditions for the 24h-Maps.
The conditions are:

two key words from which you have to integrate at least one of them into your map
two genre types from which you also have to integrate at least one

Event 2 - Funmap Gaming Event

From 16th August 9pm (UTC+2) until everyone falls asleep.

Started as an inwarcraft.de gaming event, it expanded to a more internatioal event which is dedicated to custom maps.
You are invited to join.

The bot which is usually used hosts on BNet (Azeroth, Northrend). Unfortunately Garena is not supported anymore.

Our friend Azothan recently played Sverkerman's well-known map Dualism and made it into one of his famous map casts.

Map description said:
Dualism is a first person horror game currently in development. Continuing the legacy that was recently implemented in our Awards section, Merit Badge nomination thread has returned for you to reveal the heroic members that you admire, fancy and respect.

Before you begin with nominations, you should keep in mind:

The previous nomination thread, so as to become acquainted with the process.
The Merit Badge ~ Insight update.
The new nomination-type, called "Shadow Dancer". Shadow Dancer is elected by moderators only. Users who successfully bring problematic posts to the Staff's attention and thus contribute to the supervision of the site will be nominated.
Shadow Dancer: Reflects a user that has deep understanding of the rules system and is loyal to them.

(Tip: The name is associated with shadows, since the user is acting in the background of the forum's activities, the latter being inaccessible to public eyes.)
