A new Starcraft II patch has just been release.
Unfortunately it only contains 2 fixes, which is not much but is ok considering the game has been out for less than a week.

The first is a bug fix for surround sound 7.1. Although this does not affect everyone it has its uses.
The other is an optimization for campaign saves. It is unclear exactly what this does, however any form of optimization is always welcome.

We are pleased to announce that Starcraft 2 can now be bought from stores, and of course, installed. You are able to install it, just by inserting the DVD on your DVD drive, or, install it from your download, and wait until tomorow for the Digital Release to be allowed.

The beta of the upcoming Blizzard Entertainment game Starcraft II - Wings of Liberty came to an end on Monday night when blizzard shut of the beta servers for the last time. Patches will no longer be supplied and it is now impossible to activate the phase 2 client due to the beta severs being offline. The Beta should also get removed from your battlenet account shortly in preparation for the game's release.

It has been a pretty memorable game beta, having the usual mix of bugs and issues one expects but also having numerous controversial issues and irritating issues like poor support for people outside America. Ranging from major changes like facebook support or real ID to minor ones like balance changes people seemed to never get enough of discussing them. However despite all this, most people agree that the end product of the beta is a game worthy to become game of the year.

So what is next? Starcraft II - Wings of Liberty will be released in most countries on the 27 of July 2010 for PC and MAC. This will bring many features the beta did not have like a epic single player campaign and new art content for use in custom maps. Additionally it is hoped that all servers worldwide will be functioning fully allowing people outside America to play custom maps. Anything more only time can tell.

Blizzard has released yet another patch for the beta of their up comming game Starcraft II - Wings of Liberty. A number of bugs have been fixed as well as some additional ballence changes. The patch is available world wide, so remember to update as soon as possible.

* Rally points now behave as a move command, instead of an attack move command.
* Enabled the ability to manually add a StarCraft II character friend using the player's character code. Character code is a server-assigned numerical code that is displayed within the Add Friend panel.
* Battle.net Achievements & Rewards have been updated.
* All Quick Match modes are now available: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, and Free For All.
* All A.I. difficulties are now available for play.
* Cooperative matchmaking versus A.I. players is now available as a play mode.
* Enabled cross-game social features between World of Warcraft and StarCraft II.
