Lost battles. Another story v 0.3b

This is a strategy multiplayer map with random generation terrain.
Build your city, train your army and destroy your enemies!

This map uses custom building system. Cities can be built only at specific points. All buildings can be built at special points at this cities.
This map uses custom "Squad" system. Most of units trains as a squad. All squad members acts as one.

Just a one race is available for now. More is coming.

A nice concept. Definitely needs more factions for replayability. Good that terrain is randomized although there are no cliffs or water which means less visibility reduction and or no miss chance or strategical attack from above/below. Some trees...

The map is unplayable in SD mode since the Strategic Point uses an HD only model which can't be selected in SD mode. I'd suggest using an SD safe model unless you're set on it being HD only. In the Scenario/Map Properties you can enforce HD if that's what you desire:

But I think there's a way to have alternate models based on the graphics mode, that'd be ideal.

Anyway, I only tested it in singleplayer for about 10 minutes but the procedural generation was very cool and I like the concept. There's some inconsistencies in naming where you use lowercase letters where it should be uppercase. You could make it so you can't target Strategic/Resource Points that belong to you with the Capture ability so you don't waste mana. Just a few little things to polish to make it feel like a professional product. Good work though!

Well... Updated to 0.3c version.
Changes based on comment:
1. Set to forced use of HD... for now at least (I didn't know about this function. Now I will know).
2. "Capture" can only be used on neutral/enemy points now.
3. lowercase/uppercase i'll fix at next version (at least i'll try to find where this problem is xD)

And... I will be glad to receive any advice. I will try to implement what I can and what will correspond to the idea for the next version.

A credits list in the map description with the names of the authors whose resources you've used is mandatory. That includes models, skins, icons, custom spells, systems. Also, sounds, music and everything outside this site.

Judging by the description, seems more fitting to Map Development than in Maps. Hope you'll add more content and that this one is not just another copy of your previous one.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

Added credits for every model and icon to spoiler in the description.

Map or Map development. Idk, which is better for now. Cuz map is fully playable with fully working systems. Next updates just will add new factions/races and only minor changes to anything else.

And yes, that's not a copy of old Lost battles... It's full remake from scratch. The same idea, but completely other implementation.

  2. Good that terrain is randomized although there are no cliffs or water which means less visibility reduction and or no miss chance or strategical attack from above/below. Some trees might not be very far from each other but enough for units to pass through. Sometimes randomization doesn't create the best place for large armies to move.
  3. Rare materials is still called lumber and looks like lumber when building.
  4. There's a requirement called Supreme Lord for buildings. Apparently, it's not the hero whose unit name is Supreme Lord and it's not the research called Supreme Lord Superiority.
  5. Vigilant Guards icon should be passive. Can be made with: Warcraft Image Lab Same with Arcane Flame and Shields; probably others as well.
  6. Not clear how many research points are needed for the special researches since their description doesn't mention it.
  7. Not sure if intended but Specialized Technology Point still looks like a crate.
A bit convoluted in terms of advancing, many upgrades and researches you unlock later and have to check which and what in many buildings. An actual issue though is when you have too many units they start stuttering and not immediately following commands.
