Septimus, I want to use object editor to edit spells. Not use Blizzard made. And I hope not to use any form of Triggers to do it :3
 
Well i will use some of the object editor spells and edit them but i will also do some GUI triggering because if not there arent really anything special to them :P
 
Because one of the aspects of the judging will be "coding". Having almost nothing coded will definitly give you a lower score there.

Edit: on the other hand "The spells can be made using GUI, JASS, vJASS, or just significant object editor work."
So, meh I guess it would be alright... But it will be too easy that way.

Yeah,that's true,but I will aim synergy and play-ability more.

As well as concentrating on theme.

Spells are important,but I had them figured out,and they won't be that complicated,but more like spectacular and linked to the hero!
 
This might not be correct to post here, but there is a skin here on the hive that would fit the hero very well. Does anyone no how to find the path for it?

1. Can i use model created by myself that haven't submitted in hive yet?
2. What type map i must attach the hero, melee one or just like an usual spell template map?
3. Are we, contestant, must create the map or we can take one of blizzard melee map?
4. Can i use non hero unit model as a model of hero? say like use bandit archmage?

You can used any resources except spells (Which you have to make it yourself during the contest duration).

Anyway, here's a WIP. The idea is finalised but I can't get the damage to work :(
I could easily make the unit cast Warstomp or something but too lazy to do it XD

First WIP was rather obvious what it was: a simple dash spell. This one might not be so easy to guess, its not a "I canz sumonez teh infaernoe and ownz". Its something that has quite a good synergy with the first spell. If used correctly, it should kill any workers in its path at maximum level (:P). Still considering if I should buff the damage (not that its working ATM :S)

PS: I know Infernos are awesome :)
PPS: I made a simple, inefficient (I hope it doesn't get included in the judging XD) system that allows me to get a random hero, choose the abilities I want him/her to learn and fight them. Quite useful though.
PPPS: I think it would be awesome if everyone just preloaded their heroes, it would make the testing smoother :)
PPPPS: Is there a reason why I can't seem to use a loop to damage units in a unit group? It worked before but it isn't working now, I think I changed something, not sure what. Help would be awesome.
PPPPPS: Any feedback for my WIP screenies would be awesome :)
PPPPPPS: I know you must be pissed off at PS I'm using, I think its the most I used in a single post XD Its more than its other contents XD

looks good Zack but I think his scale its a bit to large. anyway my ogre gladiator will have 2 normal abilities 1 passive and 1 ultimate. I think the ultimate will be passive too. I will post the first WIP after I find some good icons for his abilities.

So if I start now i have ~14 left? Hmmm... Maybe I'll join.

My idea is to make a Hero with powers of darkness, fear, death, destruction...

So far i have an idea for a passive skill:

Shadow Threaten

Whenever Hero casts any of his spells, there is a chance that Hero releases a howling sound, that damages and reduces armor of nearby enemy units.

but as I said "maybe" I'll join...

I've thought a couple of spells I guess.

Passive - Water Ritual: The hero drains the moisture from all nearby living units, slowly building a shield of water. Once enough water is collected the shield wears off and the hero morphs into a Water Demon for a brief amount of time. Each level increases damage dealt and the strength of the shield.

Instant Cast - No name yet: The hero binds a unit with water, then slowly draws the target to him, while frozen meteors bombard the area around the target. If the spell is disrupted an aqua explosion will erupt around the target, freeing it but damaging a large area in the process. Each level increases the damage dealt, AoE of the aqua explosion and number of meteors.

Instant Cast - No name yet: The hero gives all nearby allies a shield, and all enemies a hindrance(Their weapons rust, decreasing their attack, and they move slower) using all water saved from the aura. If the hero has no water to give, it is deducted from his health. Each level increases armour given, target area, and decreases health deducted.

Ultimate still a very early W.I.P. They all are. Nothing listed here is final in any way. Just some rough outlines.
 
Heh. Always did want to make a hidromancer. Only spell I ver thought of is [CENZORED].
I wont say it so no one can say that i gave you an idea or somthing. Maybe later ^.^

Dam. You guys have so cool spells. All I got is:
Beams of Light: Summons rays of light on to targeted location. After cast, hero can move around, while beams will still come down.

Light in the dark: Passive. Hero creates a ball of light over his head. It insperss him and other units giving them bonus [jet to be desided], and increases sight radious at night.

Bouth have 3 lvls.
 
To be honest, this will be my first custom hero ever. So it may not come out the greatest. :\

Would have been the same for me if it wasn't for the map I was working on. This is the first time I need to use this many triggers though.

My passive is still a bit dull and I am hoping for a new idea D:

I was trying not to use timed triggers for my spells, but I don't know if that helps my rating actually.
 
Hm. I think I wil lgo in a diferent direction with my hero. Oh yes. Light oriented spells just wont bring it.
Back to the drawing board. Aldo model is still the same :3

My spells are all pure synergy. Here are some infos:

Marks the target enemy unit as a next victim reducing its armor by 4 for 30 seconds, gives vision of that unit, and stunning it for 2 seconds when attacked by Vesper. The Rendwin Hunter increases movement speed and attack rate only when targeting units that have this buff.

The Rendwin Hunter fuses the spirit of his trusted falcon, Vesper, with his own increasing his attack rate and movement speed for 25 seconds. It also increases Vesper's area of effect in its attack.

Vesper's aura stills inside the Rendwin Hunter's soul giving him a permanent bonus to Agility. If he has the Falcon Spirit buff it gives a chance on an attack to summon Vesper's spirit to damage enemies near the primary attacked unit.

Its more of a campaign hero. By mentioning his falcon "Vesper" a lot and as the hunter is named Nero.
Nero-Vesper... LOL! xD
 
How do I attach pictures to a post? I really wanna show some of my work.
And btw what do you think of making this:
The hero casts a web string to a target point and then pulls herself to it. (this is similar to my other spell)
If she hits a unit on her way the string will break and her and her target is both knocked away from eachother. The target will suffer damage but not her.
Do you think I should make this? Or is it to similar to my other spell?
