My First Hero is done and sooner or later I'll do my first WIP with Tier 0 Buildings and Units.

Well, I finally came up with a proper "theme" I s'posse, so here are some basic things about what will be my entry.

The orcs once again had to witness their planet die, after the fourth war, the burning Legion tried to destroy the planet from within, releasing the corruption of the Old Gods. Survivors of the Horde and it's refugees had to rely on goblin technology to escape this time. After 10 years of research, the little scientists finally came up with sufficient technology, however they needed something to fuel it as well and so all the remaining shamans took it upon themselves to rescue and cure the corrupted elements, so they can rescue them for the price of giving power to the technology. After accomplishing all their goals, they could finally leave, and so they did. After they spent months and months searching for a new home, they finally came across a planet that seemed promising enough, a tropical planet filled with life, that was so fimiliar to the life they knew, that it seemed wrong.


I was thinking of a race, that was more fragile than other races, but had stronger health regen and bigger damage. Since the machines are powered by the elementals, the theme would fit that as well, some current unit concepts include; Ragnadrones, T.R.Z Units and thingies like that. A few concepts that I made were mainly on the lumber gathering system, since they will use coal instead of lumber. What I thought of was that the wood harvester would gather 1 'wood piece' every 0.1 sec up to a 100, then they would bring it to a certain building that over the course of a few seconds would transform it into 100 coal, it is slower than the normal process, but more rewarding.

Hardly, the world of Warcraft is pretty advanced, 20th century even. There are lights, engines (most likely 4 tact), traffic at some places, robots and even basic computers.

It may be your wording but I hope everyone understands WoW does not exist as far as this contest is concerned. There are too many variations and deviations from Wc3.

Well, there's the first WIP of the possible Coal System, not sure if I like it or not and there's like a 75% chance I'll be changing it entirelly. Though even if it stays like this some values will have to be changed. >_>

Also, either you or Astaroth desperately needs to explicitly define what is and isn't allowed in this Contest (i.e. in terms of "base faction to mod from"). Is it just the core 4 factions (Alliance, Horde, Scourge, Sentinels), or that & the sub-races thereof (i.e. Trolls, Dwarves, Nerubians, etc), and/or that & the campaign factions (i.e. Naga, Blood Elf), and/or that & other Wc3 races (i.e. Burning Legion, Gnolls, etc)? In a Contest like this, explicit definitions are a must, IMHO.

OK people, I have message Kam and he will be working to be more explicit on the theme. Here is a small list of "valid" factions and their races in W2 and W3:
  • W3: Human Alliance (Humans, Dwarfs, Blood Elves)
  • W3: Orcish Horde (Orcs, Trolls, Taurens)
  • W3: Night Elf Sentinels (Night Elves, Driads, Ancients, Moutain Giants, Flyers [Chimaera/Fairy Dragons/Hyppogrif])
  • W3: Undead Scourge (Undead, Nerubians, Gargoyles, Fallen Humans, Undead Contraptions)
  • W3: Blood Elves (Blood Elves, High Elves)
  • W3: Nagas (Nagas, Murloks, Deep Ocean Creatures, Mur'gul)
  • W3: Forsaken (Undead, Fallen Humans, Undead Contraptions)
  • W3: Burning Legion (Demons, Fel Contraptions, Fel Beasts, Pit Lords, Eredar)
  • W2: Alliance (Humans, Dwarfs, Gnomes, High Elves)
  • W2: Horde (Orcs, Trolls, Ogres, Deathknights, Goblins, Dragons)

YAY! New update!:

I've finally finished making all the buildings and I'll start making the Units Later.
I need a Break. (From July 10 to 15. Holy... Couldn't sleep right with my brain in the works)

I'll leave you Guys with my First Render. The "Defensive Mobile Tower - Theia", which is one of the Two Titan units and the Only unit in my map that has "Chaos" Attack.

First Idealized by the Alliance scientist Raven Muriel and, a Surprisingly drunk, Sylvanas Windrunner after the Attack on Quel'thalas by horde. The Defensive Mobile Tower, codenamed: "Theia", is a highly advanced defense built for combat. and designed for multiple roles. The First tower, Nicknamed the "Hillsbrad Watcher", was built near the newly rebuilt Hillsbrad. as both a testing ground for it's performance and as a sign that the horde's sacking of Hillsbrad will not happen again.
However before the Tower was used. the War ended with an Alliance Victory and as a result. the Tower was left without a field test and Thus Could not be Approved. To demonstrate that the Horde will not Attack the elves Again. King Anasterian Sunstrider had Requested the construction of these Arcane Wielding Monstrocities. The Sunwell Defenders were destroyed by Deathlord Harvan during the Battle for The Sunwell.

Interesting concept, chaos damage though? You sure? The only player gainable unit with Chaos atk is Infernal and that's Dreadlord ult...

You need to tech up big to access it
The Sentry Tower Requires the Citadel, Foundry, Manufacturing Plant and Item Shop just to upgrade to the Titan (Making and buying all that the Titan needs to be built and the proper clearance to build it)
In order to research Modularity you will need the Skyport (Because you'll need to export the System from dalaran)
So... Totally worth it

And the Demon Hunter ult. I do agree though, Chaos attack on a trainable unit seems a bit OP, unless it costs an arm and a leg to create.

I didn't make it for this guy to be acquirable at early tech. It needs at least Tier 2 (Castle tier) to be usable and It needs the Skyport for it to be a threat
I might make it cost 2000 Gold and 1500 Lumber just to build one

I'll be honest, no one will get it in that way. Making a unit with Chaos damage for Melee maps is complicated but it usually is either a normal tier 2/3 cost and overpowered or too expansive and underpowered. You could get 14 footmen for its cost. I just don't think it's too good of an idea.

Still Expensive but not much

@BlueFire: As you've said before, The Infernals are the only unit in melee that has Chaos damage and they have a stiff teching (They need that the Dreadlord be level 6 or more before they can be used and they have a timed life.
Mine also has a stiff teching but it's permanent

Well, I have done a few stuff. The Main building and all of its upgrades, the barracks, all of its units and upgrades, the wood drop-off building and all of its upgrades, the altar and the first hero. Custom Workers. and some other minor stuff. Though I was thinking about the "Coal System" I had done (a different one from the first WIP) and I realised it was too slow, complicated and overall not fit for a melee race, hence the race will have a new one which is 70% like other races, it is still quite different though. I was kinda sad that I had to get rid of it since I spent like 3 hours just on its first part but still, it had to go.
 
Second WIP.

This is all that I was able to patch up for the last week.Also,I'm changing concept here,which is,from golems to contraptions. Seriously,there's not enough golem models in Hive.I'm open for suggestion to the units/buildings that have not-so-ordinary features.
The Scrapdrone is like a backup summon when you are being under siege. The Wastelander has its upgrade called "Anti-Magic Iron",which will make it have spell immunity but they drop 50 maximum health. Lumberjack's Hut is like my previous entry's unit,Lumber Carriage,except its immobile and is a building. I forgot to place the Nuclear Reactor(food) and the Afuxator. He's the anti-caster which uses enemies' mana against them.

Light's Revolt


Lore


Light's Revolt is a future version of the Scarlet Crusade. The alternate future when the Undead Scourge had conquered over 90% of the world. In a desperate attempt to stop this, they now went back in time to change this.

Playstyle

The Light's Revolt will rely on "teleporting in troops in the middle of a fight" via time traveling. Their army is customizable to the liking of a player, to a player who likes quantity over quality with weak but cheap Minutemen and unit summoning Comissars, quality over quantity with strong and devastating Zealots and Crusaders or using spells to turn the tide of the battle with holy Paladins or Inquistators.

Initial Defenses:
-Town Hall have ranged attack
-Buildings have a force field(mana shield).
-Workers can temporary turn into Minutemen.

Weakness:
-Lacks(i didnt say "didnt have",)Melee units
-No Weapon and Armor upgrades.
-Lacks Air defense(aka no air defence building except for the town hall)


And erm. looking for partner
