Since I probably won't have time to change much from the time of the submission, I think it's time to present it.


Azeroth Capture the Flag

-Capture the Flag brought to Warcraft 3.
-24 different heroes.
-Made in vJASS.
-Randomly spawning runes.
-Balanced item system.
-6v6, using Neutral Extra and Neutral Victim for other purposes.
-Purchasable mercenaries.
-Weather changing commands. These commands create weather effects for the player that typed them.
-Only 50 KB!



Azeroth Capture the Flag

In this map, the objective is quite simple; steal the other team's flag, and return it to your base. There are 24 heroes in total, each of them competely different from the others. Gameplay is fairly fast-paced and can be played with up to 12 players (two teams of six). While there are items in the game, I've taken the focus off of them. The items are fairly weak in comparison to those from other maps. This was done to allow them to give you an edge over an enemy, but not enough to completely dominate him. All items cost 1 gold; the same amount you receive from killing an enemy hero. Other than items, gold can be used to purchase mercenaries. You'll only be able to have 5 food worth of mercenaries, to prevent players from massing large amounts. The only penalty for dieing is the 20 seconds it takes to revive.

Each team also shares control of a catapult with it's team mates. The catapult can be used to damage enemy players, or can be used to destroy trees. The tree destruction may not sound significant, but if you destroy the stategically placed trees, it clears an easy path for a flag capture. While carrying the flag, you're unable to cast spell, and your movement speed and armor is reduced. This is to prevent imbalances such as a Warden grabbing the flag, and then blinking out. Runes spawn randomly in the map, and can temporarely increase things such as your health, mana, speed, etc...

The map requires much team work and it is recommended to play with a full house (6v6). It also features weather effect commands, which alter the weather for the specified player. The map is 99% vJASS (I use GUI for quests just because of readability). Special thanks to Tennis for his GetHost() function (credits are also within the 'Map Info'). I forgot to mention, the size of the map is only 50KB (very ideal for Battle.net play). Enjoy!

I've also attached a few screenshots. Since the map is vJASS, you'll need JNGP to compile (if JASS script is even compiled by the WE).

Ezikielth, in the chat you were speaking with someone about them helping you with your map, i hope it wasnt for this.

IE:

"I cant work on my map, while you have it."

Yeah I was going to take the map out of the contest because I didnt think I could finish it in time, but then I changed my mind. I was asking somone to fix a trigger for me because the variable was wrong and I couldnt figure it out. But they didnt fix the trigger for me because they were busy or something. The map that I am submitting is all Ezikielth work (aside from imported models/systems). And I think I started work on it on* wednesday.

my submission

THIS IS TO MAKE THE POST STAND OUT :grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

Man, this is my first playable map. Ever. I never got this far before. Alot of the stuff are not very well done and I don't really expect I'll win but I'll just damn try anyway.

Teamplay is highly encouraged, I doubt anybody can win this without at least 2 teammates or cheats.

Sadly, its around 8pm over here and my parents don't want me to use the computer anymore.
Also, I plan to continue the map after this contest so it doesn't matter if it wins something or not...

Me too. But now it's 1.51am. lol.

Welcome to Node Commander...
Each player begins the game with one "Node" and most capture other nodes by using an ability, appropriately called "Capture Node."
There are 25 nodes total. Capturing a node gives you a point. Capturing them all will make you win the game.

If nobody captures all 25 nodes before 5 minutes is up, the game will decide the winner based on who has the most points. There are no powerups in Version 1.

I hope it is somewhat enjoyable.

Gameplay
One of the players (chosen randomly) is the murderer and his goal is to kill everyone else.
The other players must survive, find the mansion key and then escape through the front door (at the start).

There is a timer displaying the killers life at the upper right corner of the screen. Once this timer reaches zero, the killer dies and the game ends. When the killer kills somebody the timer resets to 3min (unless he has more time remaining).

The game ends when all victims are either dead or have escaped the mansion or when the killer dies.

- Custom chat system
Normal chat messages are floating texts above your unit.
You can also shout to all players by typing "-s" at the start of your message. However, shouts are anonymous.
- Many items scattered around the mansion
Weapons, armor, weird mushrooms... They can save your life!
- Every weapon and armor can be seen on the wearer

- Game and Player statistics at the end of the game.
The whole course of the game will be revised at the end. The revision will show who was chosen as the murderer, who killed who, and also personal stats for each player (such as kills, items used, status)
- Custom user interface & loading screen

- Custom background music
Make sure to turn your wc3 music and sound on!
- Blood effects & Sound effects
When your character is low on health he will bleed. When your character is very low on health he will bleed more and express his pain with sound effects
- Custom lightning models & fog to make the mansion dark & ominous
You'll probably need to switch off the lights in your room to see properly
- Creatures that wander around the mansion trying to kill everyone
Don't even try to fight them without a weapon. Unless you really want to spectate
- Random murderer chosen every time!
It could be YOU!
- The mansion key is always hidden at a different location!
See how fast you can find it!
- Secret rooms
Actually they're very easy to find. Just keep your eyes open for levers sticking out of bookshelves
- Spectator mode
Once dead, you can use the left and right arrow keys to switch between players you wish to spectate
- Anti-camp system
Don't sit in one place for more than 15 seconds or you will face a nasty surprise!
- Anti-spam system
If you spam, you will be silenced for up to one minute.

Q: What kind of game is this?
A: A murderer game. One player is the killer and must kill others. The others must find the key and escape the mansion or kill the killer.

Q: How many keys are there? Where are the keys?
A: There is only one key and it is always at a random location

Q: How many killers are there?
A: One. He is chosen randomly

Q: What happens if killer dies?
A: The other players (that are still alive) will win the game. But if the killer dies very early in the game (before 3 minutes of gameplay), another killer will be chosen.

Q: I can't see anything!!
A: Switch off the lights from your room and you should be able to see just fine. Also make sure your brightness settings are reasonable.

Q: How to change camera?
A: The camera is locked to your unit and you cannot change that (at least not in the current version).
Besides, if the camera would be like the default wc3 camera there wouldn't be any challenge or feeling to the game.

Q: How do I know if I'm the killer?
A: You're told in the beginning of the game. Also, if you find your character having the skill "Killer Form" and "Shadow Run" then you most definately are the killer.

Q: How to shout?
A: Just type "-s <your message>"

Q: What if the killer finds the key?
A: Doesn't matter. The killer cannot pick up the key and it is indestructible.

Q: Where can I get a weapon?
A: They can be found on the floor scattered around the mansion


1) Like said before, switch off the lights in your room to be able to see properly
2) Keep an eye out for various items scattered around the floor. They can save your life!
3) If you're the killer, use human form to travel faster and collect items
4) If you die, don't leave the game. You can stay and spectate the other players and learn from them. Also, after the game you can see the game and player statistics
