This ain't a picture of the actual cinematic, just a teaser\preview of what it’s going to be about. Models (besides house and love effect) by madcd.

You should consider changing the texture on those doughnut boxes. It's really irritating me right now.
I agree, but I don't really know what to make them look like. And I can't skin very well (*cough* can't skin worth beans that is). But if you're willing to do it, I'll give you the skin to edit. :wink:

P.S: I allready have adjusted the size of the donuts for the beggining scene of the cinematic.

I've started on the terrain.

This is going to be one of the main sceenes of the cinematic. Only problem is that if I cover everything with the grass model (made by HT I think) the cinematic will become laggy as hell. What should I do?
Cause I really need a meadow on wich they can run toward each other with a pink, slightly tranperant fade filter. High grass would fit really good for that.

You could space the grass farther apart, and use some bushes\trees around the edges like mechmap said.

I need voice actors and a better skin for the donut box, but otherwise Im making progress.

why not simply making the view like... really close to the ground... so you could simply use a ''LINE'' of this long grass .. instead of the HOLE terrain :p

It would be nice for the player to hear voices. This gives them more focus on the events on the screen instead of having to read the text all the time.
Some people completely fill the bar with text while showing something nice, which is very annoying. In such a case people will have to choose to either read what's being said or see what's happening.

I don't think it'll effect the judging, but you'll probably score more points with the public poll.


PS: 25% by public poll is not power to the people in my opinion.

Hmmm, myes. You put it in a good way. I was thinking maybe I could do voice acting (and I probably will) since there's a lot of story going on in my cinematic. I am not very fond of the public poll. Most people just watch the cinematic's of the more familliar users and leave the others as if they are not worth they're time.

Well if you're voice actors are all Windows text-to-speech bots, then you're sure to fail unless you only use machines in your map. If your voice actors are real people but got a monotone voice like a Windows text-to-speech bot, then you're also screwed. I think nearly everything else is marked as a + for your map.
