It just seems like the act of placing the Statue on the switch does that, normally if it was up that be normal, but its not. Maybe giving it a flying height and setting it to 0 (of course through trigger) would fix that

Is it a doodad? At any rate you can set the flying hight to negative something.. or you can use the ctrl - page up/down command. And yea triggers could do it as well.

WIP Shots

Finally got some WIP screenshots to post :D

I'm told they are too dark, but for me I can see fairly well. It will be better in game though, when there aren't other brighter things around (Which is why the UI is all black). Also takes a few seconds for your eyes to adjust to it.

Also does anyone know how to make the minimap all black, or better yet put an image there? To make it black I believe you import a blank .txt image to some path?

And can anyone link me to a tutorial on how to make custom filters? I can't seem to find any.

Eyes can't really get used to a projected screen darkness, if you get what I mean.
So make sure not to go too dark.

Eyes can get used to dark in real life, but not to dark that you see in a monitor :)

I suppose so, but still once you've been looking at it for a little while I find it is in fact easier to see details and such.

But yeah I'll try to moderate the darkness to some extent :). Though that is the main reason you have a torch. Don't know what I am gonna do when you are wielding your sword though :|

In late 16th century there was a brilliant innovation in western Europe.

Shields with a torch holder. Basically, a soldier could attach a torch to his shield, allowing him to have light, shield and sword all at his service at the same time.

Or if your unit won't have a shield, just go ahead and make him wield the torch in his other hand.

:p

Thanks a lot, I was not aware of that. :D

He will have a shield, I guess it's hard to see it on his back in those screenshots though.

So, did you find a "trigger" judge yet? I could be useful I guess. But I dont really see where and what that guy who is qualified for the triggering judging should do. After all this seems to be more a designing contest with level art and lore, but not anywhere in the judging does it say that the participant should be or is demandable to be a good trigger/coder.

Also to whoever suggested having "lives" before you have to start the map again: I really hate systems like those but keep in mind people can just save the game so that kinda defeats the purpose of a system like that :/

I allready have planned out how to avoid those crappy things in such a system.
As another guy mentoded, theres a system in the database that disables saving.

Is it okay to request a model from an modeler on THW for this contest?

I searched the whole model section for some models i need but couldn't find any kind that would be good :p

So is it fine if i get my models as a request from another person, or do i have to model everything i want on my own? :p

I am talking about doodads models, since the model section is lacking some good dungeon models.

it takes place 10 years after the battle of 4 armies (LOTR inspired me) elfs, dwarfs and humans have defeted by Goblins and are hiding in the last fortress they have; Erebor. One day group of elite Goblin gaurds finds an ancient tunnel and with it they find the way to Erebor, but as they march to its hearth some kind of explosions happens and there is only one survivor. You take his role and scavange the deserted Erebor becouse its defenders have long ago died there was no womens with them, but they put numerous traps and puzzles to protect the most precious thing they had the jewel Sapiroh. And as you can guess your goal is to get it.
