Hive Workshop Terrain Contest 6
Ancient Mythology
Create a scene from an ancient myth
of any culture, Greek, Roman, Norse,
Egyptian, Japanese, whatever you like.
Try to make it epic.

Contest Rules And Conditions

  • Submissions may use any imported model in the Ultimate Terraining Map or Contest Sanctioned Models thread, but nothing else. EDIT: In addition, TWO imported UNIT models may be added. You may also use the hi-resolution cliff doodads, but PLEASE use them in moderation.
  • Submissions must be original work and may not be made before the contest starts (or after the deadline, d'oh).
  • Submissions cannot break the Hive Workshop rules. That's right, kiddies... no porn!
  • The host of this contest may participate assuming that he is not a judge, which he isn't!
  • Breaking any one of these rules will result in DISQUALIFICATION and RAPE.

Contest Prizes And Winnings

  • First Place: 40 reputation points and a special award icon
  • Second Place: 25 reputation points and a kitten
  • Third Place: 10 reputation points and a pat on the back(side)

Contest Judging And Voting

  • Judges:
    To be decided
  • Judging Criteria:
The judging for this contest uses a "new" system. Since number-based criteria are very limiting, especially for art contests, the judge will instead determine a score out of 100 for each entry based on, well, how good it is. To make things easier on the judges, here are a few things to look at: Theme, Style, Originality/Concept, Execution, Atmosphere/Effect.
  • 50 % of the winner shall be determined by the contest's appointed judge(s).
  • 50 % of the winner shall be determined by the results of a public, unbiased, uninfluenced, unmultiaccountfriendvoted poll.

Contestants List:

Everybody. BWAHAHAHAHA!!! NOW YOU'RE OBLIGED!!!!!!

Contest Dates And Deadline

  • The contest shall begin on March 17th and conclude on [rainbow]12:00 AM, April 17th[/rainbow] (GMT)

IMO. Void judge. That needs to happen. I have no idea if I'll join.
Good day.

What you're saying is that.. number systems are limited, is this why you're using a /100 score...?

No, using numbers in categories is limited. How the fuck do you accurately judge, in one category, how good something is?

Damn you Phoonix, I was making the same thing!
Oh, well, I don't really care if we both make it, though.

I was thinking about that, but i am going to let you post your terrain first, becuase when you copy all the special stuff from the WIP's and put it together and make it look better, i will steal from yours combined terrain that you stoled from the other terrains! :D

Well, I just hit a major roadblock. My terrain was almost at a point where I could post a preview of it when, guess what, my old computer, with all my (un-backed-up) World Editor files on it, died, just like that. I've taken it to a store so that they can at least recover the hard drive, and I just loaded Warcraft 3 onto my new computer. However, my old computer was a mac, and my new computer is a PC. Thus my new computer is unable to read files from my old computer, and now I have to 1) load TFT onto my computer, 2) download UTM, and 3) redo the whole f***ing thing. Basically, what I'm saying is, you'll probably not see or hear anything from me for a while.

(By the way, colored text owns.)
