(@Scyth-Master):
You work 12 hrs a day!? Wow, that's no fun. (Although I guess, if you have a full-time job, and/or are an adult, then that's not so unique...)

And when I read my name phonetically the way you mispelled it, it reminds me of the Caribbean. Which is near Jamaica. Whose accent the Jungle Trolls have. Whom I love. Way to work that in there. :p

~~~
And oh yeah, I "windows messenger" 'd you and Xat, saying we had a problem with the summons... Don't worry about, I believe I have it under control now (at least, for the Undead's new hero we been working on.)
I would submit that every member can (and should) balance; that just requires a few matches to be played. 1v1, or FFA with the 3 of them (if they can manage).
But the coder (as far as I'm concerned) has to actually create all the custom stuff in the Object and Trigger editor; because then you just Import it all into the Terrainer's map, and Import the Modeller's models in + assign 'em.
Coder most likely does object data, since he needs to make dummy units and abilities/buffs/upgrades and such.
The terrainers map would be used as the base since units/triggers/abilities are much easier to import instead of the terrain
Yeah they "can", but it doesn't make sense. You can only "Mass-Import" one set of Object/Trigger data, and besides, it'd take some crazy-hard cooperation to not work on the same parts accidentally. Since the coder (as stated above) has to make dummy units and the spells/triggers associated with them (and the units/heroes/buildings who use them), it logically follows that he will be doing all the work. In fact, it's probably more work in coordination if it's split up.
But I don't mind. I like writing tooltips. :p
What lazy fag came up with the idea that we should all limit the maps to two races? seriously, in the Olympics a runner is not asked to run half of the course, no, he is asked to run it several times. and all athletes that compete, put forth all of their energy and time to train and prepare for a few fleeting seconds of competition and even less glory. Buck up people (a term referring to a buck, a male deer as a strong and willful beast of grace and majesty), we need to make this competition fierce. Is it not so, that when these competitions are truly difficult that Warcraft will be filled to bursting with great races and even greater maps? let us make this a competition worthy of our efforts!
A runner in a Olympics however, is not required to do all the races. He could say no if he like. If this Olympics Contest would have chosen to modify all these races, the time theoretically would be 6 weeks * 2. Do you want a 3 months long competition, and then wait additional up to ~1 month for the judging? It would conquer with the everyday life, for those, who would have special occasions in school or events such as vacations. No one forced you to join this one. If you want to wait for a greater one, go ahead. And respect the rules, dont call someone a fag.
No offense...
@Scyth-Master: Very nice. Is it kinda like a dwarven mining expedition, which takes place "half" aboveground and "half" below? That'd be kinda neat.
BTW, when I find time, I'm working on the Undead unit submission. I know we've only talked about it a bit, but I think if I can sufficiently "wow" Xatoga, he'll agree and model it...
ok, considering ebriks (my teams modeler) post i think we might end up with new stuff for all four races even if its not required and i know it wont give us any extra points in judging but well he is too stubern. but anyway our team is decided we have, 'Hero Lief' (terrainer), 'Airhead' (coder), and 'Ebrik Elitel' (modeler) with the team name The Icemark.
Sorry if I offended anyone with my talk of fags and stags, but I was half joking, hence the epic battle cry, but I was just thinking of the great levels that could be if every level was done with such passion as Blizzard had when they made Warcraft to begin with. But I will follow the rules and in doing so toss out a few unit, hero, and building ideas. If anyone would like to recycle them just message me or Airhead (he knows more about them then Hero_Lief does, because he was my co-brainstormer.) I think we have decided to make a Night Elf and Undead expansion, but I was wondering (and I will make them either way and leave them out of our map if not) if we would be allowed to make a tavern hero and a mercenary camp unit. Good luck to you all, may everyone be happy cartographers!
Even though I've never registered a team, I'm out.
- Can't find any modeller, pretty problematic issue
- Together with this issue: I don't like being put into 1 role. Team-contests, ok, but I hate being dependant on one guy to do everything on one area. I can see how other teams will probably face this problem too.
