Steel, yours is DEFINITELY fancy. Scyth, I see what you mean, eh. That last map had nice screens but the overall product wasn't too awesome >_<.
I agree with steel about the shrubs on the third screen. A little overdone. I really like the leafy things under rocks. The faerie fire also looks good.
Steel, I love the tiny detail in the fingers. The eyes do need difference though. Show some more screenies of the surrounding detail and the overall map? :)

@Steel_Stallion: What's the backstory on the giant ice golem holding two fountains?...
@Belgarath: Yes, now you see. It had a nice center, but the playable sections weren't so nice. The new terrain has a great pattern, which is more equal then the other. Each player won't have the exact number of land tiles or trees (of course), but it will still be as equal as possible.

Scyth, your old terrain was a thousand times better than the new one. The new one is fugly.

And why does terrain have to have a backstory for you? It's just terrain.

Backstory makes it more interesting. Although the "Frost Golem" is an easy one...

- a local tribe of Tuskarr constructed this huge idol to their pagan frost god way-back-when, around two shrines they considered holy...
- the Lich King summoned a massive Frost Golem to destroy a Human encampment, which was only barely defeated (and immobilized for all eternity) by a band of valiant Paladins, who sacrificed their life and thus formed the pools...
- or just some random Frost Elemental Lord got free and decided to mess around a bit, rough up a couple continents or something, and only the powers of the mystical Blue Dragonflight (who inhabit Northrend anyway) was able to take it down and freeze it as a testament. (i.e. a little sign at the base reads "Beware of Dragons: See Golem^")
- it's a popular tourist attraction. Disney Land is getting a jump-start on the competition. :p

Gilles, if you're comparing the green-land terrain with mana drain in the water, to this one... I'd have to agree. Scyth, listen to reason; I finally opened it up this morning, and I loved it. I have no idea how you plan on making it balanced, working the way you do, but it was pretty schweet. Loved the detail and the "random" pathways; looks very natural. That and the improvised arches... Beautiful. The Azshara statues everywhere still throws me off, though.

@Frostwhisper: Ok, this is just starting to get ridiculous. I keep trying to work with the rules (specifically those about summoned units), but I just can't. I need to be able to modify them for my spells to work out; easily half of what I do is in the Object Editor anyway! I.e. find me a unit with no model, Locust, a modified Phoenix Fire, Create Corpse, and Blight Growth. Yeah, I'd be hard-pressed to.
And I'd use regular Skeletons, but in order for the hero's synergy to work out, they have to be customized via the Object Editor.

Can we please just consider all Summoned Units = Dummy units? And/or, can we have no limit, except for the threat of "Ash will grade you harshly if you overdid it with Summons" (which I have no intention of doing)?

(Again, sorry to sound so whiney, but the rules have me running into dead-ends all over :/...)

What? You just submit your map to your post, if theres something that violates they will probebly tell you right away, and not just leave it and then disqualify it at the end. If you dont update it and it violates the rules then it doesnt get included. Simple.

People use some logic and stop asking silly questions.

Hey, cut me some slack. I've seen it (or heard of it) both ways, so I just wanted to make sure that, were I to make a mistake somehow, I would have a chance to rectify.

Ok, no more big words. Just wanted to see if I could mess up and fix it before it ended. Even if I didn't post the finished product until the end.

--EDIT--

What defines a 'dummy unit'?

It is so strange, you people judge so much on the screens. My new terrain is much better, graphically and playability-wise. It looks much better too, trust me. The screens don't give it justice.

Graphically? You improved the graphics of the game engine? What else are we supposed to judge it on? All we got are screens.

If it isn't, I can predict a lot of animosity coming towards your rules:p

Huh, imagine that! Animosity towards the current rules; who would've thunk? That's one of the smartest statements I've heard all thread.

Regardless...

I'm here, I'm just bloody busy during the week. I don't get out of school most days till 8 pm.

Y'know that's kinda the reason I sent you two my "weekly schedule", so you two were aware of when I would and wouldn't be on or available or working... That's a rather important bit of information from you; obviously, now I know not to necessarily expect anything from you during the week.

Either of you two got any other skeletons in the closet? :p

(8 p.m.!? Holy cow, when do you start? That's obscene!)
