Taiion hissed as the destruction blew away everything around them...

OOC: were i lucky enough to subconsciously have stepped inside the force field???

OOC: Everyone's within it yeah.
I suggest you start planning for what to do once the destruction is over, since it'l continue for a lil' while.

Taiion glanced around, wondering what was gonig on, and if the ceature was dead...

"That was... Close."
Vall said with releif.
"I don't think any of the Drak'Ron survived."

Zarator open up his book again and begun drawing the beast they just slayed.
"Why not, these dragons seem like a stubborn race." Zarator said with his nose buried in the book.

OOC: Dude, the entire cavern is being laid in ruin.
If it were a normal explosion the the mere force of it would've made the place cave in.

IC:
"I've never heard of anybody surviving open contact to pure chaos.
And i'm pretty sure that is what is out there."
Vall said darkly.

OOC: ok i see.

IC: "Maybe they have inhabited other places." he continued.

''Everything is possible.'' he reacted to Vall.

 

[Crazy Cow]

"So, this thing is powerful enough to destroy an entire cavern with just the force of it dying?" Mourg asked. "How did we just kill it, then?"

 

[erdniz]

"Maybe by hitting its weak spots" Zarator said.

 

[Dragonson]

"They have colonized other places yes."
Vall replied to Zarator.
"They are as grand an empire as the Drak'Zur that live on the surface.
This what but a small village."
The sighed, then turned to Mourg.
"Chaos is way stronger when free and unbound than when bound in a creature's body.
So to say, the true menace of the creature is in it's death."

He then sat down, as to ponder what had happened.
"No, Niahcluc. They have not survived.
That would require devine intervention. And if the gods wanted the Drak'Ron to survive, they wouldn't have allowed the Chaos Demon here in the first place."

"Know some more about them?" Zarator said finding a blank page ready to write Vall's words.

Taiion spat and paced back and fourth.

 

[Dragonson]

Vall shaked his head.
"Only that their empire first started when their leader, Scardrake, current Dragonpriest of Earth, managed to create flora and fauna out of nothing else than stones and pebbles. None really know how he did it though."

Taiion looked up, musing. "Reminds me of myself."

 

[Dragonson]

Then, suddenly, all the twisting energies outside the shield vanished.
Around them the adventurers saw the forest completely destroyed.
The little village was in ruins, and the walls of the cavern were molten from the enormous amounts of chaos.

Taiio shuddered.

 

[Crazy Cow]

"At least we can travel faster," Mourg said.

 

[Dragonson]

Vall shrugged.
"Well... I say we should get going then.
Unless you want to examine the cavern ofcourse."

 

[Crazy Cow]

"Will there be anything to find?" Mourg asked, looking at the now featureless cavern.

 

[Dragonson]

Vall's eyes started glowing for a second.
"I'm not sure... But you never know what to find in areas that has been affected by extreme anomalies."

 

[Crazy Cow]

"Well, it's worth a try," Mourg said. He left the magical bubble and started wandering the melted landscape, looking for anything interesting.

 

[Dragonson]

After walking around for some time Mourg noticed an iron longsword lying on the ground.
Strangely enough it seemed completely unaffected by the chaos, but it emitted a strange aura.

Taiion gave a quick flyby of the wreckage...

 

[Dragonson]

He noticed a book lying on a pedestal.
Like the sword it were completely unaffected by the destruction.

Zarator hadn't left the protective bubble yet and was looking into the distant cave walls. he turned to Vall. "Do you know how chaos ore is made?" He asked him with a thoughtful look in his face.

 

[Dragonson]

"Well... Technically any metal that is in existance for long enough eventually turns into Chaos Ore.
But the process is speeded up when said metal is exposed to anomalies, which can be anything from undead creatures to planar rifts."
Vall said, looking around the cavern, not really paying attention.

 

[erdniz]

Zarator began vriting again. "I see." he said "But this new substance thats stuck to the walls, know anything about them?" he said.

 

[Dragonson]

"Not really.
The effects of chaos are diffirent each time.
Since, well, it's chaotic."
Vall replied, still not paying attention.

Taiion swooped down and snatched the book before rising up into the air... hovering high above the party, examining the book...

 

[erdniz]

"I think I'm gonna take some samples." Zarator said wile putting his book into his backpack and taking out a little bag and a hammer with a pike on one side. "Any one joining me?"

 

[Dragonson]

...exept that he didn't.
He bumped right into an energy shield surrounding the book, possibly the source of it's survival.

@Zarator
"I'l Pass."
Vall Said.
"I'm staying here to keep up the shield incase anything bad happens."

As far as Mourg knew, chaos energy equaled chaos ore. If the sword was intact, it was undoubtedly very powerful. Mourg tried to pick it up.

I thought you said we wouldn't find any weapons because of our soulblades?

"Do as you please, well see you later then." Zarator said wile walking away to the nearest cave wall.

Taiion landed, puzzled. he raised his hand and fired a charged blast.

 

[Dragonson]

OOC:
Rafia is the only island with the blessing/curse of soulblades.
Other lands, like Urnung and the so-far-unheard-of Molkero forge and use weapons as people did in the olden days.
Sometimes they are imported to Rafia for strange reasons, though they aren't really used for anything.

As Mourg's hand neared the blade he got a chill down his spine.
It was like as if his mind asked him Do you really want to pick up that?

@Zarator
Zarator felt the immense heat coming out from the molten cave walls.
It would be hard to get to examine it if the molten rock were anything like normal magma, which were pretty unlikely.

The sheild was easily brought down when exposed to magical energy.
The book was now free for taking.

Mourg ignored that inner voice, like he always did, and grabbed the hilt of the weapon.

Taiion Reached in and grabbed the book... opening it gently...

Zarator examined the wall for a minute before he slammed the hammer into the wall hoping nothing would collapse.

And now guys... I really have to go sleep.
Sorry for ending this as a cliffhanger, but i gotta get some rest while i can.

Yasee, i'm going Canoing with my friends next week.
So... RP MIGHT be kind of inactive for some time. :S
I promise to make up for it when i get back though.

As mourg picked up the sword, his warp-wounded hand started to burn with unbearable pain.
It ached, and he fell to the ground, his body refusing to move.

Inside the book, Taiion first found a list of names:

Nall Towershield
Messam Omaen
Flezo Talon
Morzun
Xall Planebreaker
Roras Unthik
Under that, he found a complete map of Blackwind Mountains, with Necropia marked with an X.
The rest of the book were written in letters Taiion didn't recognize.
He did though find something that looked like a handnote speedily written down on one of the last pages of the book:
Somebody has found the black star in the mine.
If Howl finds out we're all dead.
Make sure Skull gets the staff.

His pick hit the wall with a dump sound.
But nothing really happened.
...Exept maybe that a few seconds later his pick started rusting and crumbled to dust.

Mourg, with a huge mental effort, tried to ignore the pain and stand up.

Zarator looked at the shaft in his hand. "Hm, interesting." He said to himself before he poked the wooden shaft onto the wall.

OOC: Mourg also managed to double post.
