Rafia: Blackwind Mountains and Necropia

"Chaos ore, they know more about it then me." Huntico said while traveling slow down the hall way, his spear ready for any surprises. Damn, while these guys mess with the ore. I will go ahead, that specter will have hell when I find him.

 

[Dragonson]

While Mourg slowly begun filling his pockets with chaos ore a light appeared in the middle of the room. A few seconds later, the light took shape of a man. "Huntico. I wouldn't go after the spectre alone if i were you." In the middle of the room, in full plate, stood Nall Towershield.
"Well done, heroes. You recaptured the Chaos Vein." Nall said, apparently ignoring Darek.

 

[Phoonix]

"what the what is this? who are you?" Darek looked suspicious at the man.

 

[mato2]

Fumbling out of his charge, Geeron turned about, noticing something familiar about the words that shook the room ( LORE CHECK), sensing the danger had passed, he took some chaos ore before the man appeared. He turned and saw Nall Towershield. "How did you get here? Or better yet, what is going on?"

 

[Crazy Cow]

"Hail, Towershield," Mourg said, although he was slightly confused at this sudden appearance. "You knew this mine existed? I was under the impression it was only a mithral mine, until we arrived in this room here."

 

[Dragonson]

"If we told everyone that there was Chaos Ore here there would be no mine left."
Nall took a look around the room.
"You'l be told what's going on soon enough. But to answer one of your questions,
How i got here: Geeron, take a look at your right hand."
Nall now turned and faced Darek. "I'm Nall Towershield, Towershield Emissary and Second-In-Command."
Nall takes out a notepad from somewhere in his armor and writes something on it.
"Right. Anything else you'd like to know? I have to set up quite a base camp here.
You don't take down a Black Spectre without proper backup."

 

[Phoonix]

" Black... Spectre... ? what exactly is that?" Darek sheeted away his scythe knowing the person wouldn't attack him.

 

[Dragonson]

Nall sighed. "You weren't here by the breifing i take it?"
Nall shakes his head, visibly annoyed.
"I don't have time to explain it now. Two seconds...."
Dostanai Melak Sorphen...
Light fills the room once again, and suddenly Nall is holding a thick tome.
"Rafian Lore Volume One. The only volume that has not disappeared into the mists of the platform. But there does exist more than five milli... something, of it."
He hands the tome to Darek.
"This'l probably get you started."
He then turns around and starts muttering what seems to be another spell.

 

[Crazy Cow]

"Where do we go next, Towersheild, assuming that we want to fight the Black Specter?" Mourg asked. With his pockets and bags filled with Chaos Ore, Mourg was confident that the boost in power it would give him would be enough to let him take the Black Specter on.

OOC: Darek opens the book and starts reading

IC: and what does Darek read? ..... honestly i have no clue oO

OOC: I'l add a "Basic Lore" section to the first page But for now, let's just say he reads the section on Black Spectres.

LORE: A Black Spectre is a person that has merged with his soulblade.
They beleive that to acheive ultimate power they must become one with their soulblade and form a greater unity.
They go through a ritual where they break their soulblade to peices and bond them with their bodies in various places (Heart, brain, lungs, hands, feet, etc.).
When this is done the person acheives a peace of mind that is normally only acheivable by a lifetime of meditation. This peace of mind is constant, and the only situation a Black Spectre is not calm is when a alien pressence is within it's mind.
A Black Spectre is practically a undead creature (therefore the last part of the name) but works like a living being in all other aspects than the mind.
Part of this peace of mind is that their mind exists partically in the Chaotic Plane. How that makes them calm noone has ever figured out.
Due to this connection with the chaotic plane all Black Spectres are constantly surrounded by a field of energy that turns Pitch-Black when in combat (therefore the first part of the name).
The calmness allows them to complete extremely tense and diffucult tasks as easy as scratching your left chin, therefore making them brilliant assassins.
The first Black Spectre was Xall Planebreaker, who for some strange reason acheived godlike power when merging with his soulblade. This was what made others follow him, although none has ever gained the same power as him.

IC:
"I suggest you gather up your party and go scout around the area here. It's not on the map i gave you, neither on any i have in my posession, so i suggest you try to make out the way to the spectre's lair. DO NOT ATTACK IT ALONE. If you find it then contact me."
While Nall chanted the stones of the cave begun forming up like small buildings and huts.
In the middle of the room where Nall sat a blue light begun glowing stronger and stronger.

 

[Phoonix]

"hmm, i see... looks powerful. that would mean my attack from just probably barely damaged it... hah, a challenge... always open for it." he then puts the book on the ground near Nall. "It's as this guy said, we should probably scout and find the thing. I say we go into groups of two... so what about it?"

 

[Crazy Cow]

"I say that splitting up will get us all killed. We need to stay together, or the Specter will pick us off one by one," Mourg said.

How many horror films have you watched where the main characters split up, and yet everything still turns out alright?

OOC: added a "Basic Lore" section to the "The Island" section.
I also included the "Drawings" section in the "Basic Lore" section.

Mozilla Firefox claims the correct spelling is 'specter,' but I'll just add it to my dictionary.
Also, everyone else hasn't been posting for a while, so I am assuming that they are still drooling over the treasure in the secret armory we found.

"What happens when only two of us get attacked by the Spectre?" Mourg retaliated. "There are only four of us right now, and I seriously doubt that any two of us could take on the Spectre and his minions and come out for the better."

 

[Phoonix]

"if we encounter it we don't engage it... we fend it of and find our way back to the others regroup and set for the spectre then."

 

[Crazy Cow]

"There are simply too many things that could go wrong," Mourg said, getting annoyed at the warrior's insistence on getting them all killed. "We don't know exactly how powerful it is or what it can do, and if we get flanked by the baby spectres running around we get screwed. Why would you want to split up?"

 

[Phoonix]

OOC: after looking it up i found out it is indeed writen specter

IC: "baby specters? hold on... nobody told me anything about baby specters... your just amusing there are more specters out there... you know, i begin to think your a coward. and you call yourself an Orc?" Darek lok at mourge whit a chalangibng face tough he was amused by this he was also irritated. he knew mourge was right and he hated to be wrong, only this made him want to bash mourge to a pulp.

 

[Crazy Cow]

Mourg was getting pretty pissed off at the warrior now. He held his temper, but he doubted that the other Orc would. "Right now isn't the time for infighting," Mourg said. "I already have two enemies here, and I would like to keep it that low. I promise you, if it's a duel you want than I will give you exactly that once we leave. Right now, though, our focus should be killing the Black Spectre, and doing so intact so that we can collect the rewards." Mourg then realized that the other Orc had no idea why the group was hunting the Specter. "There's a bounty on his head, you know," Mourg put in. "If we successfully kill the Black Spectre, each of us will be rewarded with a thousand gold coins and a piece of equipment from the FarTalon armory, one of the best in the Mountains."

 

[Phoonix]

Darek couldn't believe what mourge said... it sounded as he was trying to make him change his mind by saying he would receive things of value... is if he cared. but on the other hand he didn't want mourge to be an enemy at all. after all they were the only Orcs in this groupe, they should stand together not face of against one another. "Fine, we stick together, however i don't like it... i will respect the words of one of my own kin. the least i want is us to be enemy's." Darek calmed down tough still irritated because he was rong he knew mourge was not the one to pour his anger out one, the specter would do fine for that purpose. he balded his fast and stared into the darkness "so what are we waiting for eh?"

 

[Crazy Cow]

"I say we go now, unless Geeron or Huntico have any objections," Mourg said, glad that the warrior had calmed down.

"I concur." Said Geeron calmly. He took a look at his right hand ( what did he see?).

 

[SoLmaster]

"I meet you, in a while. The shadow have been my ally, so I will go alone. If anyone cares to join me but do so quick. He has some fun for us." He agreed. He continued he walk but at a slower pace. He looked around him to see anything that can be a trap. (Search check in the dark)

OOC: Can I do some of the art work?

"Let's head out, then," Mourg said, walking into the darkness.

Darek followed mourge into the darkness prepared for the worst.

But about the spelling: The DnD monster manual, Neverwinter Nights, World of Warcraft and MassEffect disagress with you
Also, there's this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Specter
That page says that it can be spelled both ways, but if you take a look at which of the names are used most in things such as video games and fiction you will find that Spectre is dominant.
Therefore, please spell it that way in my thread.

IC: As the four adventurers walked into the darkness with Geeron's pheonix as their only light source, Geeron took a look at his right hand.
There, a little rune were written just below his thumb.
How it'd gotten there Geeron had no idea.

As they walked further into the darkness they suddenly thumped into a gate.
It had a huge sign on it saying "Control Room".

OOCEDIT: Allright, i've moved the Basic Lore Section out of The "The Island" section, which might soon be deleted since it has no purpose.
More lore will be posted soon Though if you have any special things you'd want to know, tell me. If they're not essential to the plot i'l be happy to tell you!
If not, i will just continue the story in a correct timeline.

OOCEDITAGAIN: Oh and, i photoshopped one of my drawings and made a cool sig for myself
I'l be making a banner for the RP too soon.

Let's just say he's at the basecamp with Nall.

EDIT: Photoshopped us a Thread-Pic that i posted on the first page.
Also, if anybody of you would like a little photoshopped sig (in any size you might like) for your charecter, just give me a pic to do it with and i'l make ya one Do though note that i only have access to my Photoshop every second week. Next week for example i will not be able to do photshops, but the week after that i will, and the next week i will not Etc. Atleast, that's the current situation. Might change

Mourg started searching the gate with his hands, looking for some way to open it.

Mourg found a handle.

Drawing his soulblade, Mourg pulled the handle, expecting something to attack him.

Mourg opens the door. He sees another large cavern. In the center there is a Archway with some kind of purple vortex in it.
Infront of a crystal ball is hovering above a pedestal.

Geeron moved closer to the the vortex, inspecting the crystal ball.

 

[Phoonix]

Darek looked around as if standing guard searching for any sign of movement.

 

[Dragonson]

Inside the crystal ball Geeron sees a map over Rafia.
Everything from Fort FarTalon to The Black Tower. The tower platform were not on the map though. No suprise.

OOC: Before you say "Wtf's the black tower?" know that i will be adding a lore section about Rafia's most awesome tourist attraction just after soulblades when i have the time.

The large cavern seemed to be abandoned, but Mourg kept his blade out, just in case. Walking over to the crystal ball, he could see all of Rafia inside it. Curious as to if he could use it or not, Mourg placed one hand on the ball.

Mourg touched the tip of the Black Tower, just where the Tower Platform begins.
A strange humming sound came from the vortex, and it changed color from purple to green.

Also, in my photoshop craze i'l be making each of your charecters a small banner that will be added to your charecter sheet.
If you have anything special you want for your banner, tell me.
Apart from that i will be using a picture of the type of weapon your charecter has for soulblade in the banner. (Example: Huntico get's a spear/harpoon)

Anyways, they didn't get that much further.
They wen't into what is room 4 on the map, and then left mapped space through a portal I decided that your charecter is currently at the basecap that Nall is setting up. (read the last page/s.)

Geeron found himself standing infront of the Temple of Dragons in the Black Tower.
A strange voice in his head said "Five Hours Until Recall. For recall now, say Return. Thank you for using Erx Co. Magical Wormhole."

Around him he could see the sproudling city that were built on the platform.
It obviously weren't an illusion.
