Dark Legacy: Warchasers 2.01b (RPG/Hero Defence)

Dark Legacy is a map with RPG and Roguelike elements. Mix of Diablo, Warchasers and Dungeons and Dragons.
A team of players controls the heroes, and their opponent Dungeon Master builds a variety of puzzles, traps, enemies, and bosses (which he can control) to destroy them(or a group of heroes defends the city from the dark lord's troops[in Hero Defence Mode]).


Recommended Players: Soloing is possible only as Hero! If you wish to play as Dungeon Master - 2 players minimum(4 recommended).
Gameplay Time: Between 1 and 2 hours depending on number of players. Difficulty depends on the number of players.
Key Features:

1. Play as the Dark Lord and build a difficult and dangerous path to destroy heroes. Use your minion to spread darkness far from the dark fortress! Or overwhelm the castle defenders with a crowd of monsters in Hero Defence Mode!
2. Keep all the secrets and find powerful artifacts and allies.
3. Random weather conditions and game events in every game!
4. Feel like a pirate in a water area. Look for treasures, fight on ships and islands, but don't let yourself be sunk.
5. Play alone against the Dark Lord AI and fight endless variations of dungeons and bosses.
6. Get new randomly generated events in each game.
7. Craft Powerful Artifacts!
8. Feel 20 years younger and remember the original "Warchasers" (by Blizzard) map spirit.
9. Bunch of easter eggs (from well known Roshan to black pearl).
10. You can also ride a tank and improve your ship. What else did you want?)




P.S. As fan of original “Warchasers” I just want to play something similar, but the continuation of this map did not hook me.
Therefore, I tried to convey those moments that I liked in the original map. And improve them a bit.

Guide for the dark lord

Your main target - kill Enemy Heroes.

For these purposes, you will have 4 heroes (bosses) and 3 locations, which you can populate with dangerous creatures and traps.
As soon as the game starts, you will be asked to choose a boss for the Dungeon location. You don't have to choose it right now; you can view which heroes your opponents have taken and choose the appropriate option later.

If you are more interested in playing as a hero, select the obelisk (it is located directly above your circle for hero selection), and click "Done" (AI will build the dungeon randomly.).

Next, you can select the boss for the “Islands” location. And press the autostart button on the way under your boss.

After this, you will be taken to the final location and can select you Main Hero. Along with him, you get an Henchman who can move around the entire map.

Portals in throne room will appear especially for him. The color of the portal indicates its end point!

Thanks to them, you can interfere with the heroes or even finish them off. If you need to escape the battlefield, you can use the "return to prison" ability.

And finally:
- Bosses (3 main characters) cannot leave their location and walk around the dungeon and other territories!
- All bosses gain experience for all killed monster heroes and for killed hero monsters! The henchman receives experience only for his kills!

First you need to populate the dungeon with monsters. To do this, you have circles of different sizes located around the perimeter of the dungeon.

There are several types of circles of different sizes in the dungeon. They differ from each other only in the strength of the available troops. Each of them has the same scheme of units.

To improve the effect of an ambush and guide heroes through the maze, you can also use barriers.

When the heroes reach the dungeon or you press the “Ready” button in the obelisk, all builed troops will be transferred to computer control. And you will move on to the water phase of construction.

At Water stage, only one type of circles and units grows in the following groups.

As in the dungeon, when the heroes reach the islands of the elves, or you press the “Ready" on the pedestal, the troops also will be transferred to computer control. And you will move on to the last stage of construction - the defense of the dark citadel.

As in water phase, there is only one type of circle for buildings. Creatures are divided as follow types.

Citadel has several entrances. Try to close at least 2 suits to your Main Hero.
In addition, when the heroes appear at the entrance of your citadel, game autofill all unused circles with units(cost gold), and your Henchman will no longer be able to leave the Dark Lord's dungeon.

Holy Aura's icon looks like an active ability's. To make it look passive you could use: Button Manager v1.8.2
Is the Infernal supposed to attack the village?
I think players waste time in the labyrinth where there's not that much to do and some clicking on the minimap can lead you to the exit/portal quite fast. This along with other parts of the map make the terrain look kind of blank.
Also, there's no story or quests, you just go and go almost aimlessly if it weren't for the linearity of the path.

Since this is pretty much dependent on Warcraft III abilities and gameplay mechanics, I'd like some polish, improvements and some gameplay diversity before approving it.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

Is the Infernal supposed to attack the village?
Yes, sure. And he runs away with the demons when the heroes attack. This is done so that you can immediately move in the right direction when player 11 (Dark Lord) has time to build his defense in the dungeon.

I think players waste time in the labyrinth where there's not that much to do and some clicking on the minimap can lead you to the exit/portal quite fast. This along with other parts of the map make the terrain look kind of blank.
The number of enemies and gold to build them is determined by the number of heroes. If less than 3 players are playing, then the dungeon will be a bit empty.

Added some constant random events to the dungeon (in 0.92a) to make it look more interesting and with fewer players.

Also, there's no story or quests, you just go and go almost aimlessly if it weren't for the linearity of the path.
Added quests for a general understanding of what is happening. The map was not planned as a complex RPG with a lot of quests. More like a variant of the board game Dark World RPG with elements of original Blizzard "Warchasers".

Personally, I like to build hordes of evil creatures and play as the Dark Lords, although during the tests I could not gather more than 5 people against me)

Ideally, the player and not the computer plays for the dark lord, then the map will be very variable.
