Thanks frostwhisper. Couple clarifications and one other question:

-Aside from the unit/hero/building models and the scripts, all you can import are icons for the new additions.

So we can import any icon, from anywhere (THW, Wc3C, our hard drives)? Or only stuff that we've made, specifically for this contest?

Unoriginal, sure. I have no plans of just adding a simple caster.
However, (without revealing too much), what if one were to take an existing unit and make an upgrade that turned it into a caster, with all of it's martial abilities intact? I need the space for 3 abilities. 3 abilities is hardly

- Technically the building may have abilities of its own (though they count for the maximum of two again). And sure you can trigger the building's abilities as much as you like. Just be creative.
Dang... I hope this won't become an issue; I'm still not sure what the buildings will be like...

New Question:
- Can we have new custom units, if they are summons? (I really think this answer is a 'yes', but had to ask and make sure... Hoping I won't get stuck with using Tornado, Water Elementals, Skeleton Warriors/Archers, Lava Spawns, etc...)
**Don't worry, I don't plan on making a glut of summoned units; just to fit the hero concept.

@Donut: Wow. Sheer love for that Hook Horror. But more importantly than the kick-awexome model, is the amazingly-fitting name. Fits the concept/theme and the race (boy I wonder how many people will enhance the Undead... :p). Luv it.

Only stuff made by your team. If nobody in your team can draw, just go for the simple screenshot 'n' border method.

I'm not really sure I'm following your thought here. PM me or something with a mode descriptive explanation, (

Well, the rules say you need to add a unit. They don't say if it must be trained, if it must be an upgrade of an existing unit or if it must be summonable. Either of those options are ok. But it still has to be one unit addition. So if you add a summoned unit, you can't add any other unit.

Hope I made it clear...

:eek:... I see,

Another question for you. You say that we are allowed to change structures and units required for the new unit/structure. But are we allowed to change an ability required to train the new unit? (Im thinking of sacrifice for instance)

W.i.p

This is a W.I.P of my center piece, the Frost Golem.

Note:: You must be thinking that I changed the size of the Fountain of mana and health to fit in his palm but I did not, I listened to frosts rules.

What I actually did was change the height of the fountains... to negative, so now they are practically invisible, and those 2 fountains on his palms are just doodads.

2 Functional Fountains, whilst keeping to the rule. Oh and I plan to detail the golem more this is just a W.I.P (Which is why surrondings are not detailed)

I plan to give him better eyes.. those eyes arent good... Lol.

Ladies and Gentlemen, because of numerous appeals towards the maximum unit spells rule, I have updated the rules as follows; Aside from the four custom hero spells, you may add up to not two, but FIVE abilities/upgrades on your units, buildings, etc. In addition, any passive ability like Locust or a sfx will NOT be counted as one of those abilities. Custom buffs are also allowed for each ability made. If you wish to use all those slots, to overfill your unit with ablities, do so at your own risk. The balance and race flow judge (Ash) will be instructed specifically to check if the units are overfilled, or if their abilities flow well. Last but not least, a new rule; teams may add up to one summonable unit instead of using the unit slot for it. This unit, however will be using an in-game model. That would be all, and sorry for all the changes, but I'm doing my best to answer your calls and making this competition more productive. Carry on.

Awexome-sauce. Thanks for modifying the rules. And don't apologize for changing rules (as long as it's more expansive and for the better).

[whine]Only 1 custom summoned unit? Waahh...[/whine]

Lol, now I can get started, hopefully... And Stallion, absolutely amazing work there. Cracking-good job on dat dere centerpiece; no idea how it was accomplished.

Since the building cannot be constructed by adding it to the worker's building menu, would a 2nd triggered menu count as one of the abilities? Because if that's the case, 1 of the 5 abilities will already be consumed, inevitably. Even if you'd have a different building mechanism for the custom structure, you'd still need a "build" ability somewhere...

And dummy abilities?
I'll assume then that dummy abilities don't increase the ability/research count either.

So . . . it has serpent ward?

Yes, of course! How did you guess!?

...

No, I just neglected to change the tooltips (I was testing for effect).

~~~
Modded Tornado = too simple. Mwahaha. Although fancy-shmancy spell sfx are not what Blizzard intended for effective spells, which I will be following the example of.
(Boy, that just made loads of sense... I need to get more sleep and less naps.)
@Frostwhisper: Ahh, good, the secret is kept. :p
Tell me, Frostwhisper, how will that look as an entangled or haunted gold mine? Think first XD
I think Frostwhisper > Scyth-Master solely because he took screenshots during the day. :/...
Also because he used Sunken Ruins tileset. That is pure win-sauce.
~~~

Regardless, I can't wait to stop hamstringing my teammate see the finished terrain, Scyth! :p...!

(^^Check the discussion topic... soon?)

To be fair, my terrain is way more complex. He just showed you a doodad mine, and some trees.

p.s. I refuse to use Sunken Ruins tileset, I loath it.
