• The result must be, for example, that the texture AkamaBody.blp is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Warcraft III\_retail_\Textures\AkamaBody.blp
• Some of the files will be directly in the retail folder, this is intended (long story short, Blizzard hardcode)
• Highly recommended to disable all other mods and custom skins (such as Farseer Thrall)
• Random Heroes works differently in this mode: instead of giving one random Hero, it will give all four of them at once. Tell us what you think.

Launching a single-player game is same as any other map:​

• Single Player
• Custom Games
• Find the map titled Lost Temple (Heart of Storms)
• (Optional) Set visibility and Random Heroes if you want
• Hit Create
• Choose at least one computer and set race to Alliance or Horde to every player. If you set race to any other, they will instantly lose at the beginning.
• After launching, if playing as Horde, you will be asked to choose Orcs or Ogres (or random).
• Enjoy!

Note: if you see Human and Orc races in race selection instead of Alliance and Horde, you either did not copy the files correctly, or did not enable Local Files properly.

Use hint mode if you want - type hint in chat.

You can also enable hero glow by typing heroglow.

Multiplayer is trickier, because it’s technically not a melee map, therefore it will only work with your friends:​

• Custom Games
• Find the map titled Lost Temple (Heart of Storms)
• Set visibility and Random Heroes if you want
• Hit Create
• Choose player slot and pick Invite to Game, then choose a friend on BattleNet
• Alternatively, click Social and invite friend from there
• Fill the remaining slots with computers if you want
• Enjoy!

Obviously, this will only work if all players have the map and the mod files.

Uninstalling​

You can play other WC3 games and campaigns normally with HoS installed, but you will get new UI, some visual bugs and changed text strings.

To play normal WC3 again, without any extras, either disable Local Files, or rename/remove the new contents of retail folder. This should bring you back your vanilla WC3.

Do not just remove the retail folder, because it houses some game-critical files. If you do, BattleNet will repair it.

You may also create an additional separate installation, if you want.
