This is a rediscovery of an old archive, previously unavailable online. While the original source information is unclear, this upload aims to preserve it. Prepare for a challenging reimagining of the classic Warchasers gameplay!

This map is an reverse version of Warchasers. You are playing evil Heros to conquer back the land you claimed in the original. This might include:
  • Hard and Easy Mode
  • Added new evil heroes
  • Enhanced terrain and visuals in underground style
  • Some nice references to other games
  • Boss fights with riddle mechanics

It's OK overall, not really an improvement or anything new from the original, still old school and unpolished. Terrain could use some work too. Some stuff is in Deutsch, some spells have the same hotkey. Simple.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

📜 Patchnotes – Update to v2.35


⚙️ Trigger & Events

  • Trigger Optimization: Improved quest signals on the map, secret mission unlock mechanics, and reduced certain spawn rates.
  • One-Time Trigger Execution: Each player can only make one selection; other options will be disabled afterward.
  • New Item Event: Picking up the Sun Key now activates a hidden quest. (Shortcut for faster gampe progress)
  • 2 new bosses: Herold of Light and TimeKeeper
  • new boss mechanic: Wall of Death, run for your life!

🔊 Sound & Cinematics

  • Voice Lines Fixed: Adjusted Play Sound triggers to ensure in-game dialogue plays correctly. Also fixed incorrect event triggers, such as wrong (non-3D) sound triggers.
  • Cinematic Text Adjustments: Improved readability by using in-game text instead of cinematic text.

🔥 Gameplay & Balance

  • Fire Wall Fix: The "Death Wall" now correctly deactivates when a player survives the event.
  • Co-op Bonus Optimized: The activation now properly checks if all players are ready.
  • Improved cast over wall expierience (enemies are shooting over specific walls)

🛠️ Other Fixes & Improvements

  • Editor Improvement: The default skin for Dreadlord is now permanently set in the editor.
  • Killzone after first World boss + replacement of gold for it. (to avoid wrong respawn zones)
  • increased number of legendary items spawn ingame

~Sup, Played the map Solo, using the latest version of Deforged.

I played the map three times. The first time, I used the Murloc hero; the second time, I chose the secret hero; and for the last run, I played as the Dreadlord, who I believe has the best spells that scale well later in the game.

Interestingly, I thought it would be much easier to complete the map quickly with the secret hero, but to my surprise, that wasn't the case. The secret hero does not scale at all—he is strong early on, but later becomes quite underwhelming. The map itself is already challenging and filled with frustrating mobs and spawns. In fact, I couldn't even finish my second playthrough due to a glitch where a certain boss failed to spawn.

In my third attempt, the glitch didn’t occur this time, but I was unexpectedly one-shot by a frustrating mechanic. Despite that, I still had fun soloing it.

Overall Problems:

- Creeps sometimes spawn too quickly and without stopping. Good examples include the footman camps and the big green lizards. In the later regions, at the dragon boss, dragons, and other mobs keep spawning inside the boss area. Similarly, at the Turtle boss, water elementals and turtles keep appearing as well. This infinite spawning shouldn’t happen.

- The hero stat box is always green for some reason.

- Most hero spells are completely useless and very weak since they don’t level up past level 3, and none of them scale with the hero's stats.

- In the later regions of the game, there are no shops with tomes available. There should be more shops for tomes and potions, similar to those in the early regions.

- That frustrating purple wall near the end of the game should not one-shot the hero without warning. Typically, that purple AOE spell deals damage over time, similar to the original campaign mission where Death Knight Arthas invades Dalaran. It should function like that because having something that one-shots my hero this late in the game is just unacceptable.
