GF, you need to hunch it's neck forward, and buff up the rest of the body. Otherwise, it just looks like a normal unit.

Ok i got a decent mesh so far, next up is snap and welding through the middle and toning the mesh through the center, then i'll add some hands and feet.

Mulgrim i would advice you too just look at a reference of some muscluar man so you can see what looks right and wrong. Its easy too stare yorself blind when you work on a piece reference is king!

Yous a quick peek tells me that your waist must be much thicker. His shoulders are giant! his as is too spread apart. Keep on working on him!

btw, my model is fully rigged, and I already started to animate. It has 4 scimitars, instead of a bunch of random weapons. It is turning out very cool and rewarding

but I don't know if I'll be able to finish it, cuz this weekend I'm gonna have an university entrace exam, and it is...erm...tough.

well he basically arrived home with my brother, they started to make fun of me or something, and kicking me off the laptop because they needed it, I told them to hang on cause I just got a download to work, they told me to gtfo, and I got angry from all their bitching, i yelled something at them and my dad came and closed the laptop on my hands, destroying my unrecuperable 2 hours of work, I didn't save. But then later on in the day he turned it on, my work was still there, but he closed it without telling me shit anyway. I've been selling his shit on ebay for the last 2 days, and he wouldn't let me touch the other computer (which has all my stuff). the asshole wouldn't even agree to getting my present on time, i mean wtf there's 15 days to xmas and I just asked him for a 50 dollar thing (dollars, not euros -.-)

Yea that would indeed have been awesome. Like standing around the poor dead creature and looking frustrated before exploding or so.. But the current one is great as well.

Indeed, i agree with pyramidhead. I for one, only have the mesh done so far, texturing will be done this weekend and i need to animate. I know we've had a while, but ive been so incredibly busy lately with school, afterschool video production, karate, and now practicing for the upcoming rose parade, my free time to model has been few and far between.

I wouldnt normally request a second extension, but it does seem as though we are missing a few other entries, like gf's or shamanyouranus' and the extra time would allow the already finished contestants to tweak and fine tune their models. besides, this is a colossus contest... doesnt that mean we get a colossal time limit? I will have a many wips and a pic of the fully textured mesh by this weekend

Another week would be nice for me too, cuz the I have the university exam today/tomorrow and I've been studying a lot to pass, so I didn't have the chance to model. But I agree it's quite lame to extend it so much, it's quite not fair with those that finished in time. I guess I can give my model some basic anims until wednesday...

lol. Ok. Well, I can't make just too many models in one day... Give me a month on the other hand... And no, I wouldn't want a total of 3 weeks worth of extended time. If I am not able to finish the model in time then maybe I shouldn't have signed up in the first place. :3

A month is a long time. I really don't care how busy you are. Like, at all. I can only spend around an hour and a half each night to model. Point being, if you can't finish the model in time, tough. That's the point in a deadline. D:

All I'm saying is, Py was absolutely right when he said that this compo would take a lot longer than any other one. Kudos to him.

The judging is obviously about quality... But, you have to achieve that quality in the given time. It's called a deadline. We have other compos coming up after this one...

Now, to the cheap-shot about my model. I think it looks fine. I'm not going to do anything to it. Personally, I think it's perfect. If you don't like it, that's just fine. If the moderator in the model section doesn't like it, that's fine. It'll just get rejected and that will be the end of it. I'm not going to use this new time for anything, other than working on my medieval pack.

One thing you have to understand about me is, while I don't particularly care if someone steals credit for my models, I also don't model for people. Meaning, that if people don't like the type of models I like, or the way I make them, I really don't care. I used to care, but not anymore. I make models that I enjoy making, and enjoy looking at. And, please don't give me the "hard work" lowdown. I make models because I enjoy it. This isn't a job it's a hobby. I'd rather have fun making a crappy model than stress out making a perfect model that everyone loves.

I am a firm believer in doing stuff with the time given. I've failed once or twice yes. But, I don't want a compensation for my failing.

And again, don't give me reasons why you can't finish. We all have crap to do. Frankly, I really don't care why you can't finish. If you can't, you can't.

Sorry to be so frank with you, but honestly, the latest rising in cheap shots and general hostility from you pisses me off. Now, leave me alone. Also, don't give me the "don't get mad at useful critique!" routine. Because, I'm not talking about your critique. I'm talking about the general atmosphere of hostility when I show you a model or work of art of mine. It feels like your territorial or something. It's like you get grumpy when I show you my crap. As if you think I'm some sort of egoistic bastard who thinks he's the greatest modeler of all. I'm not. I never will be. This is one the reasons, other than a time issue, that I don't come in chat anymore. Lately, you've just been so hostile when I show you my crap. I'm fine with you telling me my model sucks. Infact, I encourage it. It's the air of hostility I don't like. It almost always happens in chat.

Oh, and don't expect me to read your comment, or make another reply to you on this matter. I don't want to hear anymore of it. Feel free to come up with a clever counter that makes me look stupid. I just won't read it. I'd rather me look like an idiot instead of you. (And no, that wasn't sarcasm.) Because, whenever there is a tense comment like this on the Internet, the person who 'wins' is almost always the person to get the last comment off.

BTW, Py, please extend this another week. After writing this long comment, I really can't say I care anymore. As if that would matter anyway lol. But, I like to pretend. I'm not as much against extending it as I am the fact that everyone who said, "OH YES WE'LL ALL FINISH!" never finished.

The best thing about it is the mesh in my opinion. The little red urukai peoples are awesome!

Mr.bob, im not going to write some witty passive aggressive comment to put you down, dont be ridiculous. I am not hostile towards you in the chat or your models. But.... you just pointed out the problem, you "don't particularly care", and you just make models for "fun" so.... whats the point in asking someone's opinion... if you never acknowledge it? Regardless... if i seemed "grumpy" as you put it, I apologize, i've been a bit flustered recently...._{gee i wonder why ಠ_ಠ} and the extension is not only for me. im not nearly that selfish... but as you can see 3 other people have asked for the extension as well.

and as for it "not being fair to those who have already finished"..... how so exactly? we are all receiving the same amount of time to work on the model, its just that those asking for the extension did not have free time in the beginning of the contest. while those who finished... did. in fact this would mean that those contestants who have finished their entries get an unfair advantage in that they have a chance to go back over their models and tweak it/polish it up. besides... there are only like, 4 entries or something so far.

The other contestants aren't blamed on for our business. Saying that they HAD FREETIME and WE DIDN'T is selfish indeed... they probably had to whether give up on other things to model or manage their time better... but anyhow, I hope we get more entries till christmas then, including mine.
