It often happens that you can't plan for everything.. You can enter a contest and believe you have at least 5 days free of other stuff to work on it.. But then your teacher gives you 5 pages of exercises, your parents tells you they planned to take a trip around the world and watch Bamboo Grow, your sister throws a big engagement party for her secret lover and your dog pee on your computer requiring it to dry for at least 3 days... Or you get busted in mass arrest for walking past a demonstration and enjoys the company of the state for 24 hours in a cage... without Internet which is the bad part about it.

I could get some more... but I believe my rabid aunt is calling for me, damn I too wish she would stop doing, would at least earn me 2 minutes more each day

I think people just join because there are no real consequences for not finishing. You just won't have a model to enter. (Which is good... Lol I'm not asking for punishment on those who were unable to finish...that would suck.)

It's just kinda sad that we are adding a total of 4 weeks extra time...Which is almost double the original time. It just destroys the purpose of a deadline. Why make a deadline at all, if we aren't going to keep it? It's like soccer mom socialism.

well for that matter, why make a contest at all if you only have 4 entries?
why make a deadline at all if half the modelers cant complete it in time?
what is the point of a competition if there is no competition? you would have 1st 2nd 3rd and the 1 runner up.

But if you are so inclined as to complain and moan and whine about letting other contestants have a chance to finish their model, then by all means, close the contest... cut off the spirit of competition and all illusions of good sportsmanship. covet your 75% chance of getting an award icon.

leave it be. the extra time is not going to hurt you. in fact it is helping you, it is helping us, it is helping the hive community. You now have extra time to fine tune your model, (IF you do not want to polish it, then so be it, that is your choice and no one will hold you to it, it was merely a suggestion), it helps the other contestants in giving them a timeline which overlaps with more possibilities of free time with the upcoming holiday and school break (for those of us who are bogged down by adult responsibility and schoolwork) and it helps the community in that they get 2-4 more incredible models, happycockroach's 4 armed anubis looked really kickass, my model, ( i hope) will come out good looking as well, and everyone wins in this situation. _{i cant speak for everyone, but this contest is motivating me to finish the colossus on time, without this contest, im not sure i would finish the model with no incentive}

Now I really dont see what you guys are raging about. So what if it's extended another 2 weeks? Does it really bother you that much? giving others a chance? DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON OF ALL TIMES?

Thank you pyritie for extending it, i greatly appreciate it, and im sure the others do as well.

The "time to tweek model" agenda won't fly. Model quality isn't in question. Model presence is. And, be careful what you wish for when you talk about the lack of finished models...lol Because there was a certain someone who warned all of us idiots before we started... We aren't really trying to stop the extension as much as point out how retarded it is.

I just can't give enough thanks to whoever decided the theme.

Too bad modelers seem to be abit late on this one, but i'm still looking forward for some great colossus models yay :> . That, because i'm working on a Colossus map for more than a year now, and i still need a couple models.
Also, it gave me motivation to repair it after 1.24c broke it. Yea sometimes it takes not much to put someone back on track.

So incase you were lacking any motivation or ideas or whatever, know that you guys are likely to get my eternal gratefulness (if that helps anyhow) and that you're making a mapmaker happy ^^

Isee so its still on me like! this has been one of the most busy times of my life these last months. And its not going slower so im thankfull!. I magnaged to get some hours over this weekend and i fininshed the texture so i guess its of to animation now.

Meh, I just thought "fuck it" and gave the furglewurg model the owlbear animations (with modifications) plus extra transferred ones.



Tested ingame and it works well. Model is pretty much finished. Only thing to do is to give it an external portrait model, some icons (and maybe a custom voice).
