This is my first attempt at making a campaign mission map, so I'd love to hear what you guys think! It’s still a work in progress, but I’m excited to share it with the community.
In this map, you play as Lilith Shadowcry, a Warden leading a small recon team to track down Illidan Stormrage. Your mission takes you through dangerous lands full of enemies and obstacles, where you'll need to use strategy and combat skills to survive and close in on your target.

Let me know your thoughts, feedback, or any bugs you find! I appreciate any help in making this map better!

The map itself is complete with only minor mistakes I already took care of, it's the campaign as a whole that is not ready.

Cute first mission! It feels super basic and simple, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The story kinda mirrors the original with Maiev and Illidan, so I'm not sure if it's meant to be a different reality from the original campaign or what.

The ending was a bit underwhelming, to say the least. That cinematic with Lilith dying felt pretty disappointing—there should've been a proper boss fight instead of her just going out like that.

On the bright side, I liked the extra quests and the mini-boss, but honestly, he needs more mana to use his spells more. Also, having more secret spots where Lilith can use her blink ability to reach them would be cool, similar to the og campaign.

Overall, it's a cute and simple first mission! Here's my playthrough:

I wanted to keep the mission linear, partly due to personal preference but also because I’ve been short on time lately with school. This is my first full map, having previously only worked on custom characters, so it’s been a learning experience.
I agree that the ending feels underwhelming. Toward the end of development, I had to rush things due to exams, so I wasn’t able to polish it as much as I would’ve liked.
For the mini-boss, the idea was to make players drain his mana before finishing him off, but I can see that his mana pool might need some adjustments.
As for Blink areas, I intentionally didn’t include them because I’m simply not a fan of that mechanic.
And regarding Lilith’s fate… let’s just say the Skull of Gul'dan holds more significance than it appears.

Again, thanks for the review! Feedback like this really helps refine the map.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

A simple map that still needs a lot of work, including cinematics, getting the quests right so they appear properly, and some improvements to the terrain design.

Personally, I've always liked these classic Warcraft 3 missions. Sometimes we authors get so caught up in doing different things that we end up unnecessarily complicating things. While you obviously can't make an entire campaign like this because it would get boring, I think it's a good starting point. Keep working on the map, ask questions, and download other campaigns to see how things are done you don't know. I hope you continue with your project.
