Orcnet:
This is one of the great work of a campaign thanks for the previous makers and current ones who can bring up this awesome masterpiece back into action, the scenery, story line, and above all how it all would end is...
Don't know about this question, but I think this campaign was now saved on the latest version of World Editor (1.36). For now, you can only play the Redux Demo version of this campaign, which is extremely outdated today.
The Book of Rexxar campaign still has the legacy version (1.27b) in addition to the updated one.
Finally fixed a strange issue where when custom music is playing during gameplay, if the player saves and reloads that section, all in-game music just stops playing music altogether.
If there are any issues you encounter, feel free to post them here. I may get around to fixing them... one day. Enjoy!
The original author has made several changes for this campaign by adding some features in the World Editor that can only be playable on the latest version of the game (with the Classic graphics, though), so you can't play it if you have other versions.
However, you can still play the sequel of this campaign (Mathias Chronicles II - Reckoning), which is still made with Warcraft III 1.27 (though you may encounter some issues if you attempt to do this on 1.29+).

It is a shame that you can no longer use Warcraft 3 Classic 1.31 backwards since some friends of mine wanted to try this campaign on their Warcraft Classics.

Mine as well. It appears that some custom campaigns will require 1.36 in order to play, like OutsiderXE's works. The War of Thorns (a campaign based on the WoW:BfA storyline, also made by the same author of this campaign) only works on 1.36.
Personally I wanted to install the latest version of Warcraft 3 since my hard drive is still enough for putting this 30GB client, but the resource consumption (RAM and VRAM Usages) are still intensive with 1.36, even with the Classic graphics being enabled (I don't want Reforged graphics since it literally kills my system). It's a shame since I consider the latest version of Warcraft 3 (1.36) to be the best way to play most of the updated maps and campaigns that made with 1.32+ WE, at least in the Classic graphics. The only downside is that you may not be able to play maps and campaigns that are exclusive to Reforged graphics, which obviously requires purchasing the game at all (such as CSW: Tides of Darkness).

There are still new players from time to time who don't want to use Reforged or can't currently afford to buy hardware strong enough for Reforged. This decision by the author deprives only the newest players who for certain reasons do not have Reforged (and 1.27 version of the campaign) to play a beautifully made game. And while the author has his reasons for doing so the newest players: you can very easily get the latest 1.27 release of ANY campaign made by Med. MapGuy. Don't ask how?!
Great approach with terrain(castle walls and etc), really enjoyed the knight charge fight. Great plot. One minor thing would be that when picking up items on the gryphon hero it doesn't attack. Other than that 10/10. Please adapt it to reforged graphics.
Game Version: Warcraft III: Reforged (2.0)
Map Version: Updated Nov 14, 2024
I recently played through the campaign, and it was a fantastic experience overall! The voice acting was excellent, adding depth and immersion to the story. The map design and cinematics were well-executed, though I would have preferred Reforged graphics for an enhanced visual experience.
I particularly appreciated the references to Warcraft lore, which enriched the storytelling. However, I encountered a bug where a quest was triggered and completed prematurely when I passed through a specific area before Mathias appeared. I'll attach a screenshot for reference.
I eagerly await the continuation of this series! As always, you've done an incredible job—thank you for your hard work and dedication.
Hey I got this weird bug, from Map 3 onwards all the harvestable (destructible?) trees are completely invisble, just shadows on the ground, it's not gamebreaking or anything but it's just bugging me. Any idea how to fix it ? (Playing on Reforged's current 2.0.1.22498 patch)

Very good remake, I always liked this story. Would it be possible for you to share with me an earlier version of this campaign? One prior to 1.36 where the models are not the ones from WoW and are more like the classic ones?

I played this campaign quite some time ago but for some reasong didn't rate it nor commented about it.
Honestly, I don't remember much about the story, but I do remember I had tons of fun and same game mechanics. If you still have not played it, I'd strongly recommend you try this one. I'm currently playing part II so I'm a bit excited to see hows gonna end.
One thing I'd love to say about the author is that, I envy (in a good way ofc) how he creates such cool and pretty enviroment for all of this maps. Amazing.
