Ice Battle Capture the Flag BETA2

Ice Battle Capture the Flag

This is a simple CTF map where players attempt to knock each other onto the ice and into exploding barrels and other hazards. Victory goes to the team who captures 3 flags.

Ways to kill opponents:

-Punch them till they run out of health
-Punch them into spike balls
-Punch spike balls into them
-Punch them into exploding barrels
-Punch exploding barrels into them
-Throw rocks at them
-Shoot them with the defense gun
-Place a homing sheep bomb to explode a random opponent

Features:
-Grab the hammer to double your knock-back distance
-Walk onto the edge of the platforms at the top and bottom of the map to jump off of them (You will be killed if you leave the map or land on unwalkable terrain.)
-Click on the flag in your inventory to use the pass ability
-Add Computers for AI players
-With the Jar of Mayhem: (all abilities last 3 minutes)
-Create a portal
-Give everyone hammers
-Give everyone unlimited rocks
-Turn off ice sliding
-Turn off ice steering
-Start the Barrelpocalypse
-Make the ice super slick
-Make players trade places randomly every 5 seconds.

-Add computers for AI players

-Any players that leave will be controlled by AI

-Now supports 24 players

-Spawn protection added

-Rocks now work better beside cliffs and collide with base walls

-Rock changed from landmine spell to triggered hit detection

-You can now steer on ice and won't lose orders when going onto it

-Because there is steering if a player gets punched onto the Ice a 2 second stun will be applied, and removed if they leave the ice before that time

-Knock-back distance of explosive punch increased

-Speed of rocks increased and they can be aimed. Rock ammo is now tracked by mana and you can hold up to three

-Spike balls will now only kill when a player is punched into them or when they are punched into a player

-Exploding barrels are now punch-able and will slide on the ice if punched

-You can now click the flag item in your inventory to use a pass ability and pass it to another player on your team

-The hammer item model has been changed

-You can now add computers as AI players

-Speed runes added to 4 corners of the map

-More abilities added to the jar of mayhem and item model changed

-Every player now has separate variables for knock-back punches and timers are now used for accuracy

-More than one portal can be spawned

-Defence Gun range increased

-When Jumping if you leave the map or land on unwalkable terrain you will be killed

-Lots of other little changes

    3. Maybe if you could keep the order the unit had when sliding so that it won't just stop after getting off the ice.
    4. What about punching barrels into enemies instead of dying when walking near them?
    5. Placing the sheep and going right in front will make it explode. The delay should be higher for the one who places it, else that player is forced to quickly go the opposite way after placing the sheep and then circumventing it.
    6. You cannot change direction on the ice. Most slide maps let you do that. Also would be nice if two players colliding while on the ice would die or get hurt. You can't even punch or throw rocks either.
    7. Throw Rocks doesn't have a hotkey at least a visible one. All abilities should. The ability should also have a cooldown.
    8. Why can't you pass the flag, drop it?
    9. Icons/abilities change position within the Jar of Mayhem. Some might have the same position/coordinates. You can fix this in the Object Editor.
    I hope you improve it over time.

    • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.

    Hey those all look like wonderful suggestions. Thinking about being able to steer and be able to attack and such on the ice is an excellent idea, I would set so that if you are punched you lose the ability to steer for x amount of seconds after and... Anyway you've got my brain burning now. :)

    Glad you like it! I'm working on a big update which includes being able to steer and fight on the ice, AI players, 24 player support and a bunch of other changes. Feel free to use anything I've done, the map is not protected.

    Yo a tip to what deep said :
    You can add all of the spikes into a unit group and do a:
    Every 0.04 seconds pick every unit within 75 range of picked unit deal and deal 2 damage if the unit is human/zombie.
    pick every unit within 50 range of picked unit deal and deal 20 damage if the unit is human/zombie.

    Something like that, would be more realistic - experiment with the numbers. :) - it could graze you if it's not on point, if its a direct hit you could use 25 range for an insta kill Practice makes perfect - I have this in may map or smth simmilar who knows :p.

    I just uploaded an update and I added that suggestion, albeit a bit differently. It's worked into the slide trigger for explosive punch. You will explode into a bloody mess when you are punched into a spike ball and when one gets punched into you, but only take minor damage from walking into one.
