Introducing Project HotS DE:FORGED!


This is a grassroots solo effort to remake Heroes of the Storm inside WC3 Reforged!

My goal is to frankenstein the MOBA heroes inside the RTS world! An unholy, Altered Melee + AoS mashup!

Currently, there are TWO HotS heroes already done!

The end goal is to replace all classic WC3 heroes with their HotS versions!

You can play 1v1, 2v2, or even 1v1v1v1! (can't guarantee the map will hold its own, but it will try its best!)

I recommend using "-solohero" mode! Control WC3 just like a MOBA! Heroes even have a recall when you press B!

Give the Disjointed Scroll of Town Portal a try! It's a skill that all capital buildings have!

Play against multiple Insane CPUs with improved AI to test your skills! (the AI is still kinda crappy tho..)

Lot of added mechanics and the XMelee ruleset!

- Fixed the hints and tooltips code to make them more contextual and consistent!

- Seven starting workers instead of five! Workers train 33% faster!

- Each player begins with a capital building, an altar and a shop already built!

- Attack and defense upgrades are basically free! They are only gated by time!

- Capital buildings upgrade in just 3 seconds! They are only gated by resources!

- Tier-3 units are beefier for all races!

- All Heroes have an additional non-Hero ability! Dreadlord's is super fun!

- Heroes are much cheaper to build and revive and don't require tier upgrades!

- All Creep dropped items are stackable up to 5! Put those Claws together for maximum damage!

- Shop items slightly revamped! Orbs require only Tier-2!


All coding was done by me in vanilla Jass from scratch!

I tried to make it as efficient as possible, so please report any low performance you may find!

Also, this map uses an ultra aggressive inliner for the Jass code!

The problem with -solohero is that your buildings don't become AI controlled; you can't select anything which means no CTRL+1 on hero but only F1; can't use shops. Also, the recall ability has no visible cooldown. It's a nice concept but needs more...

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

Definitely needs more work, hehe!

But I think you might have missed some stuff (or maybe the screen text bugged out and didn't show for you...)

There are special commands in -solohero mode:


Use SpaceBar to focus your hero (like a moba)!

Press G (for gold!) to access shops when you are close to them! Any shop!



definitely needs a way to inform the recall CD, yes, working on that!

And yes, next update hopefully will have fully automated bases!

During loading, erorr occurs , The game crashes without loading
works fine on my pc, and all the others that tested it

could be.... this map was made with version 1.36 of WC3 Reforged, so it probably won't work if you are using an earlier version

also could be... the map might have some protection, so if you meddle with that things can break

Updated the map with a few changes, should fix any problem you might be having loading the map.
But once I still started it, all subsequent crashes are an error. I have 1.36. This happens precisely because of the program that you call protection, I also disabled it in my map, because it is incompatible with version 1.36. In addition, it will be possible to analyze your changes. I don't even see the point in using the protector anymore, it's useless, and it opens easily by opening the map in mpqeditor and replacing the broken file, for example, war3map.r, after which the map opens. For this reason, there would be no point in using it, except that you damage the card with the protector itself, since it is incompatible with 1.36. And it will be better if you can give me the opportunity to see how you did it, your map an ordinary spell pack of 2 heroes. There's not unique to hide about this.))

mama what are you talking about? it kinda just sounds like you’re mad that they won’t let you fiddle with their map, in which case you should just get over it 🤷‍♂️

What do you mean by Card here ? graphics card ? or map file ? if you're using a translator please clarify this so confusion is not caused.
There is absolutely zero harm done to hardware for using the optimizer, and your writings sound fishy in trying to get access to an authors work.
 
To clarify: I had a problem with my map where it would randomly crash on map initialization when playing with one guy from our playgroup. Hosting the unoptimized version seemed to make that issue disappear. Since the problem described here sounded similar and the map optimizer was mentioned, I thought it would be helpful to share my findings. I don't believe that this crash is caused by the map protection feature of the map optimizer and I don't want to encourage anyone to disable the protection if they don't feel comfortable doing that.

when the author clearly does not wish to do so.
