Classic Asset Kit Extention Demo

Classic Asset Kit Extention (C.A.K.E.) is a bundle that expands the variety of decorations for map dressing in classic graphics. Or, more precisely, a set of assets collected in one map. For your convenience, of course. And maybe to avoid posting 100500 resources with models. It was originally posted on XGM but I finally got myself to post it here.

All assets use standard textures (with very few exceptions), are tailored for standard camera view and stylistically match standard models, but look a bit more polished. In general, this is a by-product of the comic-based Dark Riders project, the development of which is neither here nor there and is unlikely to end with anything meaningful in any foreseeable future. So the set of models is tailored to the needs of the Dark Riders. The plot there begins in Elwynn Forest, so I started with it.

A demo map for Classic Asset Kit Extention is already available. This is an example of C.A.K.E. usage - you can build your own map from it, so as not to import everything manually, or export the assets you like to your project. The landscape is made for presentation purposes, please do not use it without significant changes.

What's inside:
  • Dozens of custom environment models as well as some effects and several buildings with hideable roofs
  • Custom tileset in the style of Elwynn Forest
  • Custom path blockers for more subtle work with pathing
  • Example of the interior system on GUI, all houses can be entered
  • A simple system for lighting lanterns at night

While the assets themselves are useful (should be rather uploaded as models in their proper section) the map as a template is not as extravagant. Approved. If you want more reviews, you should participate in the The Grand Review Exchange! R U L E...

I really like this style of models, they go very well with the classic models. My favorite is the new tree set, which takes the aesthetics the terrain to another level. I hope it can be released here so that more people can use it. Those dynamic trees are also excellent, I tried to copy the movements onto the new tree. I forgot to tell you, I'm very sorry.Tree.

No problem, good job by the way!
Please write a credits list for the imported assets and stuff.
I did them all by myself, there's nobody else to credit so far.

Nothing from WoW, not even textures? Where do they come from?
Only concepts  Elwynn Forest is one fo my favourite locations, so many memories.
As for textures, it's just a matter of some clever UV-mapping and finding a proper piece in existing textures - and I probably know Warcraft MPQs by heart now so I know where to look. Most of them are rather common, but I got really creative with roofs: I used shingles from Orc main and created a layer material that paints the roof any color I want via animation. Oh, and lighter skins for trees and tilesets are just a quick Photoshop retouch for the original ones.

Really like the models, are you planning to make some kind of campaign on this map or was it made just for template purpose ?

It was originally planned as campaign set in Elwynn Forest, Westfall and Duskwood, but I ran out of inspiration at a certain point (I'm terrible at coding)
That's how the main character was supposed to look like, by the way (don't mind the floating head, that's an old version)

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
