Doron send me beta(UNPROTECTED) ok? Private way!!**. ill could fix something...
Soory for the 2 post!
LOOK BELOW PLEASE

I might try it out. But when it comes to WarCraft III multiplayer RPG maps, The Kingdom of Kaliron (TKoK) RPG takes the cake, hands-down.

Forgot to mention that I recruited Sergeant Ray and Abdoma as JASS Expert and Spells Creator.
Does it take JAKE to ?(JAKECAKE) next reply!:D

Hmm... for the terrain... once it's 100% done, would you ever consider making it look even better than WoW's? Of course just cosmetically, without adding any major features or pathing differences. The reason I say this is because WoW has a depressing lack of ground shrubs, small trees and the like, and I think it would look much better with more of this stuff.

Lack of small trees, perhaps, but I never noticed any lack in shrubs, flowers and grass. There's a graphical setting to enable this, perhaps you don't have it enabled?

(and some areas demand for a "barren" look without shrubs. I'm thinking of that area at the southeast of elwynn forest, east of darkshire)

By the way, I don't know if you already use this, but http://mapwow.com/ gives pretty good overviews of areas in a google-maps way.

No I did, I still think there isn't enough eye candy. Not just shrubs and such, but rocks as well. Especially rocks. The mountains and cliffs in WoW are really boring.

i think you should not over-detail the WC3 WOW terrain...

because it may add on to lag, and it may take away originality. Dont put rocks on mountains, just let mountains be raised hills like they are supposed to be.

and the terrain in WOW is actually really crappy compared to WC3 terraining. However, the textures of everything, along with the atmosphere make it seem really cool and life like.

I don't want to over-detail areas that shouldn't be over-detailed mainly for the fact that the engine which runs WarCraft III in limits how the players' PCs run (even if it's some top of the line gaming PC. the engine is out-dated and you WILL experience some of the same leaks and lags that low-end PCs get.

Right now I am just focused on making everything as accurate as I can. Stuff as far as grass doodads go I don't care so much about, but everything else that the majority of us notice IS important to get down right. Will I alter the terrain majorly? In some cases yes. Warsong Gulch may be the first one I have to alter the most... and don't get me started on instances! It'll be tedious work, as all other maps have been, so don't expect it to come quick.

Those of you remotely interested in playing Wc3:WoW's BETA, post in the following thread: Warcraft 3:WoW • View topic - Wanna be a BETA Tester?

As stated in the first post of that thread, posting there does not guarantee you will be given the BETA. It is merely a way of us keeping track of who wants in, but in the future will also help us see who's interested enough to be an effective tester. I and the rest of the team appreciate your participation!

I'm pretty sure it's been asked before but... would you copy the WoW currency system? (you know, 100 copper coins for 1 silver, 100 silver coins for 1 gold)

Digging up a hundred pages worth of posts would kinda be hard.

Hey guys, for the past day or two I've not done much because I just resigned up my old World of Warcraft account. I was expecting the game to be even more depressing than TBC, but came to realize that the recent Wrath of the Lich King fixed and improved tons of stuff regarding bugs, imbalances, and gameplay factors. They also added a lot of new stuff (even for those without the expansion(s)) and I must say, it's all for the better.

Overall, WoW seems to be back in its game - for those who haven't played it for a couple years - and I am both proud and impressed of what Blizzard Entertainment has done with it. For that, I bought a 60-Day Game Card for World of Warcraft. Right now I only have The Burning Crusade expansion, but this game is so much better in so many ways that I am actually contemplating getting the third expansion.

Initially, I was playing the trial version of WoW, which is also improved. You now download it as you play rather than spending 14 hours downloading patches for a game you'll most likely be playing for ten days. The trial was mainly just an experiment for me. I got Fraps and started recording all of Valley of Trials and some of Durotar (will make my way further as I complete areas I've recorded in Wc3:WoW) but as I actually played the game, I was being pulled in so deeply that I realized I was addicted by the end of the day. So, before the trial reached day two, I signed up the account. So far, it's so worth it. I don't mean to be a WoW fan, but man... I'm so happy this game is fun again and that Blizzard really listened to the players.

Although this means less work on Wc3:WoW for a bit (as far as terrain goes) I won't totally ignore Wc3:WoW. Playing WoW makes me want to make WoW. Therefore I shall. I'm a bit hooked on reaching level 80 with my friend but during breaks I DO work on Wc3:WoW. Valley of Trials is unfortunately not ready for presentation as of yet but I'll try my best to get something soon!

Yeah. I also heard being level 80 is boring, but for bastards like me, I'll take advantage of being level 80 and will be back to ganking in Duskwood. For those of you who are interested and have WoW characters on US Servers, I'm playing on the Mug'thol PvP server as a orc Hunter named "Korthrax" (Koraak was taken!) and sometimes play my orc Rogue, Felgor. I also play on my old (now pretty crappy server) realm Drak'thul as Koraak, Izalador, or Greyhorn.

If you're in either of those servers and happen to be Alliance and get ganked in a level 1-40 area, check if it's either of my characters' names.

News Update:

I've been working on Durotar, but I'm still playing World of Warcraft hardcore (trying to get my hunter to at least level 70) and it's being quite a barrier between me and Wc3:WoW. I still take short sessions to terrain Wc3:WoW when the servers are down or when I'm bored of WoW, but World of Warcraft is just so much better these days... I'm especially looking forward to Blizzard Entertainment's upcoming release for the MMORPG which allows players to have even more great gameplay advantages such as:
 • Level 20 mounts
 • Gain experience from PvP
 • PvP quests
 • Epic mounts at level 40
 • Cheaper mounts and training
 • Rogues dual wield axes
 • New battleground
 • Twinks versus twinks ONLY in battlegrounds (you can disable pvp experience if you want, but those people will be playing against each other)

So, as you can see, a lot of improvement in my opinion for the game which I am greatly anticipating. Only bummer - for me - of the patch is that Hunters get some normalization and won't be AS OVERPOWERED as they are right now and have been.

Anyway, back to Wc3:WoW, Valley of Trials is taking way longer than I expected, but it's about 50% or more complete. When I post screenshots of the zone, you'll know that I'm done or almost 100% complete with Valley of Trials and some of Durotar.

I made a Tauren warrior as well named Mulgrin and after playing in Mulgore, I realized how tiny Wc3:WoW's Mulgore is and how inaccurate it was. I plan on redoing it entirely or almost entirely, soon.

IMPORTANT - Due to the fact that I constantly am asked when the release date is coming and have answered it countless times, I am now restricting myself from answering that question. If you want an answer to a question that has been asked hundreds of times, check the site, Mod DB profile, or patiently search through the threads and posts of this forum or our other forum for information that may (and most likely will) lead up to your answer. I might still answer some questions, but do not be surprised if I ignore the question.

When we feel the mod is ready to be publicly distributed, you can find the up to date versions at Mod DB and the Wc3:WoW website. It will probably be available at Hive Workshop as well. Right now, there's a very, very old and outdated version at our site/Mod DB. It's terrible compared to what the mod is now and will be, but many claim that it's still amazing. Check it out!

ahhh i wish you made the team for this project gigantic....so that it can get done way faster.

i bet there are eager persons out there ( Cough* me *Cough ) that would like to participate in this thing terrain wise.

but its up to you i guess...dont let this game die though.

How long has this been going now? Two years? Damn.
I think he had a team at one point, don't know what happend to it.
Honestly, craka. We all know WoW is addicting. But you've let on.. what.. 10k people? More? That's how many were signed up on your site.
You just need to get it done!. We all want this.
Give up WoW for two weeks.
Get the terrain done.
Hire some bug testers.
Give them two weeks of testing and reporting while you play WoW.
Spend a week fixing them.
Done.

3 Weeks is hardly enough to get this thing done, Rispetto. In fact, i'm pretty sure all of us have realized that the chances of this project getting to completion are slim, but at least at the end of all things, we'll have some amazing areas and systems to play.

Commanding Craka_j, even when you have no idea of the status of the project, since you think it can be done in two weeks and Craka is doing it solo, are not helping, trust me .. If you wish to help the team, just send them an application. Telling Craka_j AND his team to simply finish it, is not a good idea, it's done when it's done. And the chances that it will be done someday, is up to the team and us, as fans :) Simply support them in the forum or their website, or you could do something for the project such as helping out with models to speed up the progress, I'm sure if you have any kind of tallent, the team would love to have you onboard.

Who says I don't lead a team of developers working on Wc3:WoW? The current members are me (terrainer), Eleandor (systems), General Ray(bug fixing), Hawkwing(3d/2d artist), Shamanyouranus(3d/2d artist), Hanky(spells), Paladon(spells), and Abdoma(spells). Though, I haven't heard any good news from any of the spell creators since I brought them aboard. Hopefully they have SOMETHING done when I need them most.

As for BETA Testers, we have over ten BETA Testers testing Wc3:WoW and have about 45 reported bugs in total. Quite a bit to fix!

but this brings us back to the pressing fact that even though your team is highly proffesional and expeiernced, Its to small .

you really need a bigger team to create this.... i mean WOW was created by over 200 people ( i think) and about 20 people worked on the Orc Campaign in the TFT expansion....

your trying to create WOW in a Orc Campiagn expansion format, and with only 6 or 7 people....

im just saying, you need at least 2 of every thing, 2 terrainers, 2scriptors, 2 modelers, 2 object managers, 2 misc managers etc...

this is just me saying my ideas about this project...its a discussion remember....

but yea my point is, you need more people to get it over with...cause lol its to late to turn back now haha

I've contacted many WarCraft III modders and a lot of them really aren't interested or are too busy to grasp another mod to work on. Plus, I look for the best guys I can. That's why guys like Hawkwing are on the team to begin with. You can't make a huge mod like this into something worth your time without the proper quality and expertise crafted into it. If you don't care about quality maps/mods, I suggest you go play one of those shitty World of Warcraft RPG maps. They're incredibly inaccurate and boring IMO. We're really pushing all we can, or so we plan to, and to do that we need a team of talented (and perhaps somewhat experienced) modders to help develop this enormous project. Do we need a lot of people? Hell yeah we do! But who says it's easy to accumulate a large number of talented developers who truly dedicate themselves to the project?

And I agree with your statement that we need at least two of each. The first terrainer is me, the second is MadseN, whom I'd like to work on Ragefire Chasm once I'm done with Durotar and maybe Mulgore. We have two JASS Experts, two spell creators, two artists, and plenty of BETA Testers (though they aren't so reliable) to help us notice any issues. Unfortunately, two of each isn't enough. We need more like four or five of each. I enjoy terraining the areas very much, so I must admit I'm a bit selfish on that part, however, that is not the largest issue at hand. It's the triggers, spells, and art especially that needs more assistance. There's so much still to get done, but it's difficult to do it all in a timely fashion with so few on the team.

We need all the help we can get, but that excludes those who cannot help in the way we want it. If you want to help, that's great. The problem is that the communities are full of people who want to help, but 80% of them aren't really worthy of even letting them help. GUI Triggers, Inexperienced Artists, Rookie Terrainers... they're everywhere! I get at least three applications per month from people who want to help, and 75% of the time not only their skills are despicable (no offense fellas who I rejected!) but so are their applications! Bad spelling, bad grammar, smiley faces, irrelevant information provided about themselves, potential proof that the person may be either an idiot/foreign/immature/underage. I hate to be so harsh, but that's the truth of it. I'm able to immediately tell whether someone is good or bad for the team, just by looking at their application. If it's well written with minimal to no errors and provides proof of his skill, dedication, etc., then maybe that guy is a potential developer for my team. But if it's poorly written and mentions he's obsessed with the mod at least six hundred times in an email, chances are that guy is looking to be a thief or simply useless as soon as he realizes what kind of WORK he'll have to do when he gets on the team.

I hate to hold myself highly above people, but I know what I'm talking about when it comes to applications. The very least an applicant can do, even for those who hardly speak English, is provide some links to their best work. If their best work sucks, then they are truly rejected for the right reason. Otherwise, no proof = no recruitment. Simple as that really.

Anyway, finding people is harder than you think. Hell, it's harder than I think every time I try, lol. I've just been lucky with everyone I've managed to get onto the team. I'm hoping that once we get 2.0 out that we can attract a lot more attention towards Wc3:WoW (mainly the talented guys who are willing to help) so we can increase the size of the team with ease.

If any of you guys are good and know it, please apply... unless you aren't interested. Although I doubt you'd read this entire post if you weren't.
We need help. Oh, you want to help us? Don't wanna dedicate yourself to a project though? No problem. That's what THIS THREAD is for. Public tasks that we need done in order to bring Wc3:WoW to you even quicker!

Website Make-Over:
As you can see, the Wc3:WoW website is finally being worked on, thanks to awesome General Ray, who is now our new official dedicated Overall Site Manager for Wc3:WoW! The website has a bunch of default information on it that came with the pre-made template from www.ClanTemplates.com. I'll be rewriting a lot of the content in the site, while General Ray continues working with setting up the new template, fixing some small issues with it, and so forth. So far the goal of having the site load pages faster is a success. If the site still loads slowly, please let me know and I'll have Ray take a look at why it may be happening still. Although, site seems to load much faster for me.

You can expect the site to be completed by the end of this week, probably. Maybe earlier. For now, the site isn't really a reliable source of information. The forums and our Mod DB page are areas you might wanna stay close to instead for the time being...
