The best RPG's for WC3 for Single-Player campaigns. RPG's in just one map in my opinion suck, mainly because they are usually not well made and there just isn't enough room to put all of the content in.

This is how to make it work.
Take the square tile of the grass tileset and shrink it to create a 4-squared square that equals the size of the original - alternating tiles.
Shrink the characters and it will all look normal, while quadrupling map size.
There is already a way around doodad limit, so says MindWorks.
As long as the map is constantly being shared then it shouldn't take too long.
Someone can work on models
Another on terrain
Another on units/properties,
At least those three at the same time. Then copy-paste.
Others could work on triggers if you have a storyline already setup (first) and know some mid-grade triggers to work on.
To quickly make an RPG you'd need a story first. I wouldn't recommend taking a storyline for what it is, rather everyone chipping in ideas, if they have one, from the spark of reading the given story.
Then all decide on what kind of features, trigger wise. That way the terrainer can start setting up ideal places where triggers may be used.
Then decide units/characters, and thus models for the modeler to get started.
And then a damage/defense system.
If the story were based in a land of magic, and therefore the use of spells, and teamwork, to take out bosses, i'd make the weapon damage system start with 1 or 2. That way players can see how well, or better, spells are and the focus would be on spells. This would make the user want to have to go back to a shop to buy potion or runes, but could also defend with a weapon as a last resort, or second option; like petrifying an enemy and then taking pop-shots at it because no more additional offensive magic can be used on that petrified creep.
The balance then is with weapons and spells. Say the last boss, for instance, is immune to magic. And the boss, or the end of the RPG, could be fighting the uber king, who the players think is good but is actually an evil mastermind and got the players to do all the dirty work for him.
... or so he thought! hehehee
