Monopoly - Invader

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
Invader Gamemode - Monopoly V1.5
You're an invader who has come to Azeroth for one goal: World domination.
To get there though you have a long journey.
You have limitless potential, but start so frail any regular unit could kill you easily.
You must start by killing small critters and work your way up the food chain.

Your Hunger Grows!
Every time you kill a unit you get 1 Biomass.
You can spend this Biomass in your Grimoire.
Each upgrade in your Grimoire will boost your Invader's power!
Start with killing frail critters to grow in strength before you tackle stronger opponents.

The More AI there are the more time you will have as they will fight each other.
The more players there are the harder this gamemode will be as critters are in limited supply.
If you want you can play with 8 players, but this will essentially result in a weak Invader battle royale 😂
Version 1.0.1
  • Fixed movement speed only costing 1 biomass. Now correctly costs 2.
  • Fixed tip in Optional Quest where it stated you could bypass death by enslaving a worker - this will no longer work. Once your invader is dead you lose.

Post Launch Update V1.0.0
  • Reduced size scaling for invader as it got pretty insane around 100 kills. It's flat increase now not ramping.
  • Increased selection size (unless someone knows how to change this value via triggers?)
This is based on the Monopoly S7 V1.5 map.
Credit for the original melee map goes to rhythmt.
Let me know if you guys have any ideas for additional features etc you think should be added or changed :D
This is my first map - so please expect some level of bugs to appear. If you crash or experience a bug please let me know so I can look into it.
This is being done as a project of passion and nothing else - so I will likely just up and abandon it some time in the future. It depends on how long I can keep passionate.

First Enslave level costs 50 mana which you don't have at the start. You have only 15. The balance is off unless you play against other players. VS base building AI it's pretty much impossible to get enough strong in time. There's no creep...
Apologies if whoever is reviewing this can see my rampant deleting and re-adding of the map. I forgot a change, then I found a bug last second.
I also couldn't tell which was the new one and which was the old one, but got the version in the name now :D
 
Any permission from the original author to update this further?
It was bundled with the remastered version of WC3. Cant find any contact info. So nope.
Tried google searching, searching on twitter, searching on youtube - no luck.

Assumed it wouldn't fall under the following resource submission rule:

"Submission of resources consisting of or containing parts of material made by another member of the Warcraft 3 modding community without substantial modification requires proof of the author's documented and verifiable permission."

For the following two reasons:
1) It was given out with the official download of warcraft 3 reforged.
2) They are not a user on this forum (nor any other locatable modding community?) - nor can they be located online.

If the used map is originally a melee one, credit could be enough unless you can find the person and contact for permission to use the map as a template. I've found this profile comment: Arrr
If the whole idea of the map with triggers and stuff is not yours, you should try getting permission. If it's not possible, the map would stay as long as the original author would claim it or ask for it to be taken down.

There's no creep randomization. The custom hero is always the same for everyone too.

Generally, the idea is nice but quite bland, repetitive ultimately.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
