ARISE FROM THUNDER ASHES

Mirrez Pahl
When the Thunder Empire mostly consisted of talented generals in their ranks, Mirrez would be one of the highest exclusion. Normally, untalented generals would be discarded from the ranks as soon as they are shown as incompetent. Mirrez however, seems to gain some favor from his network according to shady rumors and retains his position as a general. Despite his lack of strategic expertise, his network is vast and he's quite easy to befriend anyone, even enemies which led to some statements that his innocence could bring the death of many. Mirrez however, has been scarred by the death of his comrades during Thunder Fall event and feels most of the blame on him for being incapable.

Kaynara Mageheart
Not many females can become a general of the empire. Kaynara is one of the few female generals that is promoted within the span of the last 5 years. Despite not being a tactician nor war specialist, Kaynara has the knowledge of psyche and commandership that she uses to led her men to victory. She is one of the few generals that survived the Thunder Fall. During the escape, one of the enemies manages to strike her with a magic-absorbing sword that causes most of her powers drained. Since that day, she rarely takes direct command at the front and prefers to plan her tactics from the safety of distance.

Todi Lightbow
Perhaps the only general that manages to escape out of Thunder Fall without wound nor magic loss, Todi is the ace attacker of the empire during the war. When one of the empire generals defected and flanked them, Todi was one of the few who quickly reacted and rescue as many people as possible from their impending doom. Despite his mighty magic and harsh struggle, many of his comrades fell. Ever since, he always tries to get stronger and better with his powers, as he wishes to avoid such an event from happening ever again. Todi himself is one of the Alpha Commanders of the Thunder Empire.

Affad Wisteria
A magician specialized in water magic and counterattacks. Affad has been one of the most outstanding magicians throughout the empires that many sought his aid. Affad left the empire before the events of Thunder Fall without any message or trace of his whereabouts. Prior to his disappearance, he's one of the Alpha Commanders of the Thunder Empire.

  • All maps use simple terrain since it's not the main focus back when it was on development.

The description doesn't mention too much of anything about the gamplay. There are still missing credits: Resources in use by Arise from Thunder Ashes 0.15 For some reason, 1.30.4 did not see this campaign. 1.31.1 did. Weird, blue troops and heroes...

The description doesn't mention too much of anything about the gamplay.
There are still missing credits: Resources in use by Arise from Thunder Ashes 0.15

For some reason, 1.30.4 did not see this campaign. 1.31.1 did.

  1. Weird, blue troops and heroes in the intro are now red in the first chapter.
  2. The camera remains 3rd person after the intro scene in chap 1 ends.
  3. Defense Barrier says it gives 0 bonus attack. It actually gives armour.
  4. Pressing ESC starts and quickly kills cinematic mode and gives the main quest again.
  5. Terrain is generally bare.
  6. Pretty much human tech tree.
  7. Can finish optional quests before even learning about them.
  8. Heroes selected during encounter with the ??? hero cinematic. Again scene ending with the camera in 3rd person. Also, didn't even have all herbs collected yet.
  9. Prologue has no intro scene or quests.
  10. Kaynara is there but we have no idea when/how she was treated.
  11. For some reason, in this map, units have invisible portraits.
Weak material overall.

Simple.

  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
