Blood Elves - Custom Race

New Custom Race - The Blood Elves

Appearance
: The Blood Elves are lithe and regal, with sharp, angular features that exude grace and nobility. Their skin radiates a pale glow, the result of their connection to the Sunwell, and their eyes shimmer with the brilliant hues of fire and light. Silken robes and intricately adorned armor reflect their high status, while their golden hair flows like sunlight. Their movements are fluid and deliberate, showcasing their perfect control over magic and combat.

Lore/Backstory: Once proud and powerful, the Blood Elves were struck by tragedy when their Sunwell was corrupted. With the loss of their lifeblood, they turned to forbidden magics, their desperation fueling a thirst for vengeance. Now, with the Sunwell restored, the Blood Elves rise from the ashes of their fallen kingdom, wielding the destructive power of fire and the purity of light to reclaim their lost glory. Their path is one of both redemption and fury, as they seek to carve out their destiny and restore their people to their former majesty.

Abilities/Strengths:

  • Flamewrought Fury: The Blood Elves channel the power of fire to incinerate their enemies with deadly pyromancy.
  • Lightforged Resilience: They wield the holy light to shield their allies and heal their wounds, fortifying their ranks in battle.
  • Arcane Archers: Mastery over arcane magic allows their archers to imbue their arrows with explosive and searing power.
  • Exquisite Craftsmanship: Known for their elegant but deadly weaponry, their warriors are swift, with blades and arrows of unparalleled precision.
Playstyle: The Blood Elves are a versatile race, excelling in both magic and martial combat. Players can employ devastating fire-based attacks and powerful light magic for both offense and defense. The Blood Elves' army is swift, with highly mobile units that strike with precision. Timing and adaptability are key, as their magical prowess allows for powerful late-game pushes, but they must balance their reliance on mana and resources to maintain their advantage.

Cultural Traits: Blood Elf society is built on honor, elegance, and the pursuit of power. The Sunwell is at the heart of their culture, revered as both a source of their magic and a symbol of their fallen kingdom. Their noble houses vie for influence, and their courtly traditions are rich with beauty, poise, and calculated intrigue. Despite their tragic history, the Blood Elves are determined to rebuild and surpass their former glory, with the blood of their fallen kin fueling their desire for vengeance.

Inspirations: Drawing from elven elegance and arcane mastery, the Blood Elves are inspired by high fantasy depictions of grace and beauty, merged with their fierce and passionate resolve to reclaim their lost empire.

Many icons aren't properly imported or they don't have DISBTN as they appear green when disabled/during F10/game pause. As with your previous ones, mostly a human/campaign high/blood elf reskin. Simple.

A credits list in the map description with the names of the authors whose resources you've used is mandatory. That includes models, skins, icons, custom spells, systems. Also, sounds, music and everything outside this site.

Of course i will post the names of the authors of the models i used today because i finished this map at 01:00 and i was tired to keep up more.

The point of a custom race is that it has its "own style", you know? Its own tech tree with its own strengths and weaknesses, different units with unique abilities, heroes with abilities that aren't recycled from war3... It must be a whole set that allows for the development of own and different strategies. Not to mention the essential balance... Making a reskin and changing a few things doesn't make it a custom race.

Making a custom race is probably the most difficult thing you can do, much more than making a campaign, melee maps, MOBA-type minigames, tower defense... There are so many things to take into account, It's from the biggest to the most basic like unit training time, building structures, hotkeys and it requires so much dedication and knowledge of the game, both on a technical and gameplay level, that achieving something that is minimally useful is very complicated.

Look at the peculiarities of the original races, for example when it comes to gathering resources, each race has something different. Or to build buildings... That's what I mean by "their own style", you can also look for and think about some kind of different unit, with something different from what was seen in the originals. From my point of view, those are the things that can make a custom race really good.

The problem is that when making a custom race you have to adapt in some way to the Warcraft 3 meta, because if not the balance goes to hell and that complicates everything even more. For example, I can make a super crazy custom race for a custom campaign because in that habit I don't have to adapt to the original meta nor does it have to be balanced for melee games.

All these things are what make me consider that this type of projects are tremendously complicated.
