Map Information

An alternate melee in my series of maps involving lore races from the Warcraft universe. This addition allows the players to explore and play as the imperialistic Zandalari Trolls.

The Zandalari are the ancient, imperial progenitors of all troll civilization, sitting atop a storied history that spans millennia as Azeroth's oldest empire. From their golden capital of Zandalar, they have amassed a legendary fortune born of unparalleled natural wealth, sharp intuition, and prosperous trading networks. Central to their enduring society is their profound devotion to the Loa—powerful wild gods like Rezan, Gonk, Bwonsamdi, and Pa’ku—whose diverse blessings shape their culture, military might, and mystical arts. Operating in perfect harmony with the prehistoric dinosaurs of their homeland, the Zandalari utilize these ferocious beasts alongside potent protective voodoo, heavy gilded armor, and blood sacrifices to maintain an incredibly adaptable war machine that fiercely guards their ancestral dominance.

Zandalari v1.0 (Map)

Prelate's Light Dash only has 2 levels in the learn ability menu. For the Throne of War, it gets more movement speed with tier 3 Pa'ku than the useless (in this case) Gonk choice. Zandalari Golem has no projectile. At least for me. Tried it on one of...

Khm. Enough rambling towards unrelated stuff.
What can I say about your new custom-altered melee race, @Wa666r? As always, I liked this stuff. Not because of the Loa mechanic, although I feel that friendly AI either ignores it altogether, or focuses himself to only Loa - Rezan.
I liked this race because of the sheer income imbalance stuff, provided by unlockable worker ability, Gonk's passive aura for gold farming, hero aura for gold farming, and the availability of resource trading. Dont fix this, plz.

At first, I thought that the gameplay of Zandalari Empire would be close to Aztec gameplay from Age of Mythology: kill units, collect blood/essence/whatever, empower yourself with Loa avatars... But your design is perfectly fine, in my opinion.
Units are nice and strong, although this troll regeneration stuff is quite a big deal, if we compare it to normal troll regeneration. I think.
Casters are nice.
Dinosaurs are nice.
Having the opportunity to change current worshipped Loa and gain special bonuses for changes after specific research - hell, nice introduction, smooth race gimmick, and joined flow of gameplay elements.

Yeah, the ai sticks with Rezan. I might add a feature where it switches to a random Loa every so often.
Its not an aura by the way, only the hero's attacks count. You should have seen how it was in testing. Rezan also had a passive for more gold.

  3. Zandalari Golem has no projectile. At least for me. Tried it on one of my buildings with A+select. Didn't do any damage either. Did when moving the unit near the building.
  4. Borrowed Life seems a bit overpowered since it lasts 60 secs. Casting it on a hero might reduce it to half but if that hero is healed by a Paladin in dire need the effect is null. It's OK once but if this happens for 60-30s it's really creepy. Needs testing ofc. Neat synergy with Voodoo Bond though.
  5. Primal Companion=Crest of the Golden Empire.
  6. Fossilize doesn't say it can't be cast on heroes.
  7. Spirit Purge=Dispel. Banish Jujus=Abolish.
Overall a neat faction with switching replayability on the spot (well with a 90s cooldown) but for me it needs some tweaking.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
