Strive Strike Strive

A simple Aeon Of Strive inspired map without hero units. You instead play a selected, non-hero unit called a mercenary that must be upgraded by it's respective Upgrade Stone in order to survive. With you (4 of you) there's an army of weaker units that is to assist you on your fight against the Gryph or the Anker, depending on which side you're standing on. You get payed a repeating period of time so you can buy upgrades for your mercenary and tearing down enemy buildings also adds to your gold. There's 8 mercenaries to chose from.

Klive Helgenburn : Select Stone 1

He's an amateur thief among experts in his old home of Kobolds who's called out for being "A bad taste in thievery". He was always disrespected by others until he left to train to steal. But instead of learning how to turn to a thief, he found out that he was better at giving responsibility and to fight wrong-doers than stealing from others for himself. He settled down as a self-titled Knight and was happy helping others.

A medium strong fighter with useful abilities best against hordes of units.

Klive's Abilities

Bashing: Klive smashes the ground with his axe really hard so he damages and slows down his enemies.

Lord Mornosh : Select Stone 2

He was the prime lord over the Darkest Legion and was the most powerful fighter among them too. His one goal was to kill all life in the world but ended up getting slaughtered by Barbarians whom ended his reign of death. He came back from the dead but just as a smaller entity that emerged from his true body's corpse. So he with his remaining follower Rashter was setting off to rebuild the legion anew.

A strong and fast creature that is best at surviving.

Cannibalize: Consumes a nearby corpse to heal up.

Deckard Hoverson : Select Stone 1

A scientist who dedicated himself to study space and dimensions who found the ability to teleport at any given location at free will. His research led to him building an observatory for his work. The Deckard Watch Observatory was meant to give him the ability to see and travel to other dimensions but was laid down after the people around the observatory complained he was taking too much resources from them.

An adept at traveling throughout the map and to stay alive.

Deckard's Abilities

Teleport: Teleports Deckard anywhere in the world.

Lanaij Brightly : Select Stone 1

A Deer who's was dedicated to triumph over others when it goes to magic. Whilst was a mage at the start she didn't stand much of a chance towards other magicians. It wasn't until she found out that she could counter magic by making them unable to cast spells and was practicing different ways to silence the magic of her enemies.

Fast ranged merc that is best at fighting other mercenaries.

Lanaij's Abilities

Feedback: Destroys mana per hit and makes it combust dealing aditional damage to enemies.

Glitii Faerie : Select Stone 2

A lively Faerie Dragon with an overwhelming joy. She's not smart but knows how to make others happy. She also doesn't believe that violence and misery exists and that if there was something like that it would be a defective part of reality that needs to be removed. So she dedicated herself to remove violence with violence.

Ranged mercenary that is best at slowing down enemies.

Glitii's Abilities

Slow: Slows a target enemy unit down from movement to attack speed.

Legionair Rashter : Select Stone 2

Once one of the foot soldiers of Mornosh's forces he was not much for his dark master to behold. He was just another minion until his lord and fellow legionairs died out that he stood out. He was lucky to survive the slaughter of the legion and when the smaller lord Mornosh came to him he was impressed. Rashter was allowed to follow and help his dark lord like a second in command. Then Rashter was allowed to be promoted by getting a parasite that split him open.

Brutish fighter that can deal an overwhelming amount of damage.

Rashter's Abilities

Critikal Strike: Gives Rashter a chance to deal more damage.

Spew: Spew goo that damages and stuns an enemy unit.

Luga the Evolver Worm : Select Stone 1

Ever since a Larvae Luga had been a pet to a family of villagers and was even treated as an icon to his home settlement for being an evolving creature. But then the royals that lived near this settlement started to speak lies about him and said that he wasn't an evolving type of worm and was to be executed for false aspiration. The family had to leave him out in the wilderness where he can't be harmed out of all this. Since then Luga wanted to evolve to prove himself worthy.

Medium strong mercenary who's good at supporting other fighters and can fight better at later times.

Luga's Abilities

Evolve: Turns Luga into an egg in order to metamorph. He's vulnerable during the evolution process.

Healing Slime: Covers an ally in slime that heals it over time. Doesn't work on Luga himself.

Clusless Cant : Select Stone 3

A chaotic, outer-dimensional being from a race of dimension stealers who takes other worlds and merges them with their own. Clusless was sent to prepare the world of StriveStrikeStrive for merging until he decided not to do it (Because he was not in the mood for it). He found a male dog that he started calling "His pet daughter" which he also calls Gunty. He mutated Gunty and harmful events happens later I guess.

A medium strong fighter that can live through long battles.

Clusless's Abilities

Summon Gunty: Summons Gunty. Clusless's mutated pet dog.

Shara Mendri : Select Stone 2

Not once a brave elf magician, Shara was trained by her mother to fight as a Sentry Warrior. But it only took 1 mistake for her to get fired from the Sentry Militia and was sent home with her Sentry armor on. Mother Mendri didn't give up on Shara however and was training her to be braver and less clumsier with her shock weapon. Shara then was on her own, not as a Warrior, but as a more braver fighter. A bit.

Shara's Abilities

Distort Magic: Causes Shara to channel a negative aura around her that hurts spell casters when they use magic and damages nearby enemy units when close.

Crispin the Burned : Select Stone 3

Once a man that learned to breathe fire, Henaid Lekain was turned into a pyro maniac who could set entire towns on fire with his breath. It got to the point when the victims of one of Henaid's frenzies swore revenge upon him that they tricked him and poured gasoline on him. So after Henaid tried to kill these victims he lit himself on fire, he had enough immunity to live through it but his skin was forever burned. Madder than before he now called himself Crispin.

Strong fighter that can incinerate multiple enemies.

Crispin's Abilities

On Fire: Burns nearby enemy units per second.

Jhon Summersen : Select Stone 3

Mr Summersen was at first an infamous thief who could get people asleep with a magic spell and take their belongings whilst they where snoozing. Not only that he was a skilled Swordsman and Archer in which he always takes with him his bow and arrows, and sword and shield. But one day he tried to steal from a cult, trying to make everyone sleep he found himself getting skinned alive and resurrected in their commands. After a raid from the Police, Summersen was free from the cult's power and escaped the sanctuary as a Skeleton.

Versatile fighter that can both melee and ranged attacks.

Summersen's Abilities

Equip Bow: Takes out Summersen's bow to attack in longer range.

Advantages from melee - Moves faster and can fire a long distance

Equip Sword: Takes out Summersen's sword to attack in melee.

Advantages from ranged - Deals more damage and has more armor

Gold Cost(For both) - 50

Sleep: Puts a target enemy unit to sleep for a short while. A sleeping unit can be awoken by attacking it.

Voider Creature : Select Stone 3

A horrific, gender-less creature born within the void with no moral knowledge is one of many generic figures of it's home. This monster was sent into the mortal real by an almighty wizard who was after the end of a terrible war going on in it's time. As a summoned creature Voider was obedient under the wizard's spell. But after it's master got assassinated it got back it's consciousness and was killing every living thing in it's wake. It wants to go back home to the void where it can wander alone.

Heavy ranged killer that can be devastating to enemies when upgraded.

Voider's Abilities

Coldness: Adds bonus cold damage to an attack and slows target, but drains mana with each shot fired.

Attack Speed Factor - 0.05
Extra Damage - 30
Movement SPeed Factor - 0.25

Was awhile since I've touched WarCraft 3 modding so I gladly accept feedback.

Updates:

- 1 -
Fixed some grammar and removed "Stag" from Lannaij's description. Also added the drawings of the mercenaries.

- 2 -
Fixed a VERY catastrophic error with the mercenaries from the other base spawning in the grey base.

- 3 -
Added 2 new mercenaries and lots of quality of life upgrades. Next I will attempt to take the map out of the WIP state.

- 4 -
Decided to let the map out of the WIP state.

- 5 -
Mercenary buffs and nerfs was made plus healing runes should spawn at top and bottom paths.

- 6 -
Did some changes to the Soldier pathing. Should work hopefully. Also Made spawning further Soldiers after a castle dies impossible.

- 7 -
Mercenary buffs and nerfs was made.

- 8 -
Graphical changes! Added a map preview and a loading screen.

- 9 -
Added multiple Select Stones for future mercenaries and fixed some trigger issues. Still need some trigger reviews.

- 10 -
Added 2 new mercenaries!

- 11 -
Further tweaking on the NPC rush AI.

Ah. Well thank you for reviewing the map anyway. Was going for something simple so I did simple.

I'll add the given values to the upgrade descriptions and which level it's on for the common ones (Attack, vitality and regen upgrades). I think that the rest can be alone on this map page but I'll add a document file with it for certification.


A question. I can't get a 4v4 game running on the map so I don't know how it is like with full player usage. Did you play the map with more players and if so, how was it like?
