A simple random TD I made based on dark souls
-4 difficulties (normal, hard, insane, dark souls)
-7 tiers
-56 towers
-gambling gold / lumber
-challenge bosses
-harvest 2 crystals per round for extra gold
-AUTOMATIC save/load
-unlockable skins
-challenges to complete

Chain Lightning doesn't have a hotkey.
There is randomization but most towers seem to be higher tier copies of themselves, having no special/unique ability or having the multishot one...

Randomization helps and doesn't help with replayability since many towers might not appear, at least not that often.
Generally, a nice and innovative idea but pretty simple. Could use custom abilities and things for towers like auras, upgrades, whatnot. You could get lots of inspiration from highest rated tower defense maps. Another thing you could improve upon is the wisp crystal builder; maybe it could do more than that.
A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

Chain lightning is activated when attacking, so you can press A on the tower and select a target to use chain lightning, or focus fire on the builder ;
You're right about upgrading towers - generally they're each an archetype and have better versions. There are a few abilities (such as stun, chaos storm) but most of the abilities are via the special towers recieved from gambling (which contain aura, cripple, stun, etc)
I agree the wisp could do more, though I liken it to farm td, I could remove it entirely and give the builder crystals, or do as you said and give it something else to do. Not sur what's best.
