Looks like Terrain and Visual weapons/armors are something people care a lot about. Im also sure that if you could vote twice balancing would be way up there too.

1. Servers are indeed separate. This means you can host your very own Wc3:WoW server if you wanted to; you'll need a very good upload speed though for everyone else to not lag a lot and so on. We'll have a server or two up and we will most likely post the server info. on the Wc3:WoW website.

2. 255 per server, yes.

3. Wc3:WoW is 100% free. The only payment you'll need to worry about is the buying of WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos and WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne. But at this point, you all probably already have it bought and installed on your personal computer(s).

4. For now, when you or a bot or whatever is on a Wyvern, we'll use the Wyvern Rider model. We'll make edits to it later on.

5. Swimming isn't in the mod yet, but probably will be after the first open BETA is released.

6. Balancing classes will be pretty tough for us as a first task, so you can expect us to work more diligently on allowing the player to customize their character's looks and equip weapons to appear on their character.

Hi again
Craka_J, is your team going to put out a gameplay video? And do you know when you guys will release the open beta for your game or the relative
time it will take to be released? I also talked to someone I know on warcraft 3 on US west

He said something like this WarSoc program was tried in the past on a game and it failed. To succeed, he also told me that only someone who works for Blizzard Entertainment is able to do something like this. Could you clarify this for me?

1. We'll start working on a gameplay video as soon as we decide that the mod really looks good in-game and everything is functioning right. We also want to minimize the bugs as much as possible first. There is no deadline or prediction as to when a real first gameplay video will be made and published.

2. For the millionth time, there is no defined release date and there won't be one for a while. When we feel comfortable and confident with a release date, we'll announce it. (We'll try to refrain from predictions and focus more on actual when it comes out dates)

3. Correct. It was something like WarSoc, but not precisely. The WarSoc program has been tested and confirms that it works fine. Lots of little things to fix and add however before it's worthy for the public. In short, WarSoc works and proves that you don't need to be a Blizzard Entertainment mastermind to alter the game.

4. I seriously doubt that all 255 people will be in the same map. Yes, it'd probably cause some FPS lag (Frames Per Second) but everyone's ping is based on the host and your own. So one player may be lagging, while another is doing just fine. There are over 10 maps in our mod. Players are bound to explore into different ones. If chat really becomes an issue, we'll develop our own chat system that would prevent spamming and so forth.

5. Eventually we'll add those special chat channels, but right now they're pretty pointless, being that this is a single player mod right now.

6. A said above, your ping shouldn't be a big problem unless you've been known to lag a lot in other games and WarCraft III maps. Latency will only affect those who are slow. That means you guys with fast cable and DSL shouldn't have any problems unless the host of the server is slow.

A few good things I felt were worthy of announcing right now:
  • Hawkwing's Human and Dwarf player model/skin were recently discovered uploaded to an old Wc3:WoW private forum! Looks like the humans of Wc3:WoW are back in action.
  • Hawkwing has decided to do some model and texture work on Tiragarde Keep stuff such as walls and towers.
  • Hawking also decided to reskin the human texture, as well as do a few model edits to make it look more like a WoW human character.
  • Discussion about Artificial Intelligence (AI) for bots for both PvE and PvP is growing and hopefully we'll soon begin taking action towards it.
  • MindWorX confirmed that WarSoc is currently his top priority project.

Link fixed.

By the way, please stop telling us to hurry up as if it will have any potential relevance to our development skills and pace and then suddenly boost the progression rate of the mod itself. Please be patient! It's a WarCraft III mod!

Just a tiny update to inform those who already think the project is dead - I don't know why they'd think that; our last update was about five or six days ago - Hawkwing has been doing some Wc3:WoW textures and plans on doing Tiragarde Keep models soon too. He's pacing himself to bring better quality and of course to not lose interest. Not sure what HvO is up to at the moment, but I do know that we have two potential applicants awaiting approval to be on the team. One will mainly be doing spells and abilities, another will help with web-related content (Our website and forum).

I haven't done much terraining lately. Been getting easily bored and unmotivated in the process. I did very minor changes such as doodad/unit rotation and placement, but barely did anything major to announce really.

Since I'm reterraining everything again, I guess nothing is complete. Orgrimmar is the closest thing to completion. I guess parts of Mulgore are pretty complete though.

Judging from the screens we have, you definitely do need better textures...

hello again craka J

i have yet another set of questions
i cant help myself. this is too interesting :)

Will the NPCs such as guards in certain cities or towns like stormwind or ogrimmar be alike the ones in WoW?

And another question. Wont the maps ending point be a cheap get away from a fight?
im assuming yes its a slight problem that cannot be fixed but i would like to here it from you

i always thught it was just for craka j that C avatar

anyways got any good news of progress craka?

It's sort of like the shortened version of Blizzard's logo, where it just says "BLIZZ". However, we'd rather not shorten it to "condem" which sounds like a certain inappropriate word, so we just bump it up all the way to a stand-alone "C".

The only thing new lately is that HvO-Busterkomo confirmed he'll be back to work on Monday and we have a new spells/abilities creator on the team named "Abdoma". We're getting a couple applications for JASS positions too, so we'll see.

[EDIT]:
Recruited Eleandor as a JASS Programmer today for Wc3:WoW.

I might try it out. But when it comes to WarCraft III multiplayer RPG maps, The Kingdom of Kaliron (TKoK) RPG takes the cake, hands-down.

Forgot to mention that I recruited Sergeant Ray and Abdoma as JASS Expert and Spells Creator.

Yeah, TKoK is a great map, but really this is very different, and I like the systems better, just the damage system is extreamly awesome, and I hope you do something like it.

When we are at the RPG, take a look at "Dark Invasion II" It's also awesome, but noy really WoW'ish. They are all very different, that is my point, I guess :hohum:
