Chess Unit

Contestants should create an unit which is an artistic interpretation of a Chess piece.

  • This theme is subjective. You don't need to ask "DOES MY ENTRY QUALIFY AS A CHESS UNIT?"
  • DON'T TAKE THE THEME LITERALLY!!! You should model a wc3 unit/hero that performs like any other in wc3, but references in its concept to a certain piece of chess. That means:
    • You shouldn't remove the legs of your unit just because it's chess
    • You shouldn't paint your unit white just because it's a white piece
    • You shouldn't model a horse in it only because it's the horse piece.
  • It is nice to establish some relations to your piece, by many possible means: whether traditional chess appearance, or role in a battle, or the way it acts in chess game, or its symbolic personality, etc.
  • Overall, just follow some logic and be creative

Example: a shiny-blue-armored lizardmen lancer riding a giant two-headed brown eagle - reference to the white horse.

CONTESTANTS:
YOU MUST PICK 1 PIECE OF A SPECIFIC COLOR (black/white)
(don't need to actually take that colour much into account if it isn't part of the concept, but it may be good) and theres no problem if many people pick the same. none of them should repick, everybody is free to pick whichever they want.

i'll pick the black queen and make something awesome. :ogre_hurrhurr:

HappyCockroach: thank you for sending me that PM.. I´m pleased to be part of this contest =D

question: can i use team color instead of white/black?
i´ll make a rook (team coloured if the answer is yes, if not i´ll make it white because of rysnt11 choise)
np! hope you enjoy it :)

but...
black/white it doesn't mean the model should be black or white... but reference to the black or white piece of the chessboard... i recommend you to read the description again. and yeah, it's good to have teamcolour on your model.

A lot of animations are finished already, might do some more though...
that is a chess piece model. kind of a literal interpretation.

but it has its twists and it is interesting.
if that literality is intentional it's ok, keep up with it.

I might be pretty obvious to you here but i'm just telling you that you didn't need to model an actual chesspiece (your entry is valid though)
