haha the picture where hes falling apart makes him look cell shaded, looks really good though, im considering dropping out, i don't really have any more motivation to continue any further maybe if i try a differant element like wind (and it would hover so no hard walking anims!) yeah i think wind would be good.

EDIT: i checked out google images for ideas and found a perfect concept art the only change will be that i will give it a crown/mask that covers its eyes

oh make no mistake, even though Elenais vote means a lot to me, the mesh was not close to finished, and you saw it without particles or it was in a perfect line not all wobly like a tornado. heres a little more WIP (still no particles and still perfectly straight and the texture is not the right one).

It looks like a carrot by its geometry...

I'm not a good Paint artist, but I did an image showing how its geometry is, and how it should be...

EDIT: and I thin you should give this cone at most 3 segments, and the focus should be at its arms, giving it piercing claws. And instead of animated textures, you could give it a global sequence to make it turn around continuosly.

I do, but it's completely moot when you're sellotaping him onto an existing model.

Oh, how he looks so much better with sphere-mapping. Stupid blizzard and their not-finishing of hot graphix technology.

I'm hoping to compensate with some slightly flashier animated textures, though (layers of additive and/or blend textures going in different directions, may or may not work). The rock on the end of his mace will also rotate independently.

If I can be bothered, I'll rig up a few billion billboarded glows for him too, but that may be over-kill on the effort front.

HappyTauren: OK Ill add it(attack spin walk)(just hoping itll look good).
IK? this model doesnt use any IK, only fordward kinematics. IK takes much space when converted, and I find it only useful for legs-or chains ;) -

edit:Make it an strength hero plz, you see, Tidal Lord was Int, Firelord is spd, I made this thinking in a str hero :D

He could be some sort of "attack mage" themed-hero. "Battle Mage", "War Mage", etc.

I'm agreeing with whoever said he should have a "calling thunder" anim with one hand. That would work well with an actual "Call Thunder" ability. Speaking of which, I'd say that "Call Thunder" would be a simple instant DD-ability with a "thunder" debuff; would that entail neg. armor, silenced, or miss chance? Or perhaps Lightning Shield...

Hmm... Strength? He does look thicker, or more armored than his companions. Perhaps then we should actually make him a more "warrior"-type guy? Perhaps even a melee attack (as weird as that sounds)?

In actuality, I'm adding him solely based on the model/anims; I personally don't prefer anything but the generic elementals (Fire (done) Water (done :p) Earth and Wind) for Wc3... Well, that's not exactly true. I love Elementals, period, but it's harder to see a Lightning Elemental than one of the original 4, see?
Regardless, he's cool enough to just get in. :p

Anyone remember the thunder one of the character of Mortal Combat used? It was KunLao?? cant remember(too long ago), I think a spell like that would be neat. It could be a PASSIVE ability, gives the hero a % to call a tunder to dmg near foes(or stun them) the thunder then could hit just one and then bounce to adjacent targets :D
edit:Well, I though he should have a melee attack, thats why he punches in the animation

*Punch* - Hah, well, just because he "punches" doesn't mean he must be melee; one can just as easily give him a lightning-attack, and he just "punches out" to point out a specific target.

*Kunlao?* - Meh, X% to cast mod. Chain Lightning-on-attack? Not bad, but I'm not sure.

Yeah, I keep thinking that modeller's won't be able to keep using the Firelord model as a base for further elementals... But you continue proving me wrong. :p

Not that I'm necessarily requesting in any way, but make a fitting "Wind Lord" (http://www.wowwiki.com/Image:Al%27akir.jpg), and I will instantly add him. I'll freakin' make up a skillset, dangit. :p

(Or this or this :p)
