LOTR Mount Doom Battle 1.51

LOTR Mount Doom Battle is a map where the armies of Middle Earth clash within the heart of Mount Doom (I don't know how this is possible, I guess magic) to claim victory over each other. Choose your race, build your base, and train your army. Fight for control of the center of the map to increase your income and accumulate "Conquest Points" to claim victory

Features

  • Can be played using AI players
  • AI difficulty settings: easy, normal, hard, and insane
  • 7 unique races (Gondor, Rohan, Elves, Dwarves, Haradrim, Isengard, and Mordor)
  • 13 custom heroes
  • Income based on controlling points around the center of the map
  • Environmental threats
  • Several bosses with special rewards that spawn as the game progresses
  • Many custom items
  • 5 bonus heroes that can be obtained through certain magical methods
  • Intelligence now decreases ability cooldowns by 1% per point (Heroes no longer have mana)

Conquering Other Players

  • When you destroy an enemy Fortress, that player is given the option to serve as your vassal, play as Gollum instead, or simply quit the game
  • Vassals have a significantly reduced food limit and base income
  • If a player chooses to play as Gollum instead of becoming a vassal, they are given another chance at victory through an alternate victory condition

How do You Claim Victory?

  • Reach 10,000 "Conquest Points" by capturing Control Points in the middle of the map, killing enemy units, and/or destroying enemy Fortresses (Takes about 40 to 50 minutes on average depending on the number of players)
  • Once you reach 10,000 conquest points you are granted unstoppable power. Use this power to kill the Fortresses of the remaining enemy players and you will be victorious
  • For players controlling Gollum there is a different means of claiming victory. Victory is achieved by capturing The One Ring and holding on to it in the center of the map for 8 minutes

  • Heroes have been dramatically reworked. Heroes were too powerful and required too much micromanagement, taking away from the army control aspect
    • Hero abilities no longer cost mana but instead have much longer cooldowns
    • Many hero abilities have been redesigned to be less micro intensive (Many replaced with unique passives)
    • Intelligence now decreases ability cooldowns by 1% per point (Instead of increasing mana, since it no longer exists as a stat)
    • Hero damage has been slightly nerfed
    • Most items have been nerfed to make heroes less OP
  • Changed Rohan racial tech "Bodkin Arrows" by replacing it with "Shield Maiden Matronage"
  • Changed Dwarves racial tech "Iron Blood" by replacing it with "War Masons"
  • Changed Mumakil model to new HerrDave made model
  • Changed all healers to be more impactful with an area of effect healing ability, but cost more resources and food

I played few games with full lobby AI here
Pros:
-Unit countering so you cant just spam a single unit and win
-"Some" creative ability design
-Variety of factions to chose from
Cons:
-AIs dont pick items from ground which lead to weak late game heros
-UnSkipable cinematics
-AIs sometimes stuck they hero in their building so they cant use it for reminder of the game

Hey Rifleman! Thanks a lot for giving my map a try and the review!

-AI heroes do pick up items but its a bit hit and miss. If their inventories are full, then they wont pick anything else up. I'll work on it some more though!
-I'll try and figure out a way to make cinematics skippable.
-Yeah, AIs do sometimes get stuck, I was thinking about a way to fix this. I'll address that in the next update.
-Really good idea about allowing for higher conquest points, I'll add an option for that.

I will be adding a unique power reward for each race when reaching required conquest points. Also, I might add one more boss.

This is an amazing map! You really feel like you're playing some sort of big super mario minigame, but LOTR themed and on Mount Doom! Awesome!

I love how the gameplay slightly changes throughout the game, with various new objectives always coming up. The ultimate weapons are also very fun.
A must play for any lotr fan, and even other players!

The review is much appreciated! Haha, yeah I guess it is sort of like a mario party game in a way now that you mention it! I will be updating the map pretty soon here with a couple of new bosses and several new ultimate weapons.
I see you have a super mario map, I want to give it a try but I don't even know how to replace my MPQ after reforged.

How do I use my Conquest power?
You are automatically granted it if you are the first to reach the required conquest point score. So, if you set it to 7,000 point requirement and reach 7,000 before other players you should get it.

It should give you a list to choose from of conquest rewards: Galadriel, Orthanc, Nukes, etc. Did you see that list?

Ah mb I set to 16000 points lol, I thought reaching a milestone would give you a power.
