JASS Class

Can I join? i really want to know JASS. :( since I only got here last month

Okay, not to make a totally douchebag comment, but why wouldn't you spend this time to learn something useful, like HTML, Java, or C#...

Jass has no practical applications outside of WC3, aside from the little knowledge you will gain about coding in general.

maybe I can if you're going to have a JAVA class too :D

We should signup map moderators for this, because both Kael and Orchnet have poor jass knowledge right now...

I would like to participate as well, with anything you need :)

This really looks awesome, maybe we can create new Jass New Gen rar/zip file with latest cjass and Jass helper etc to make instalation far more simplier for users.

Also lesons could be included within test maps in separate folder.

I will bother Mag a lot now, about this, but I would really like to hear your opinions as well.

It's been a while since my last activity here. But then I come and see this, which I find it awesome =D.

I would like to be enrolled as an observer. Always wanted to learn JASS but never really dedicated time to it (this can be an excellent excuse).

At one time I was trying some vJASS and/or ZINC, but long time ago though :/

Rats I'm too late! If there's a vacant student I'll take it, otherwise I'll just observe ^^. I'd like to thank Mag for making this, it's a brilliant way for people like me, who use GUI for everything, to finally have an avenue to learn Jass.

Will it be for complete beginners ?
I could be a teacher, but frankly i just can't explain basic stuff, mostly because it's too boring for me.
So i suppose it's not for me, correct me if i'm wrong.

Anyway i'm available if i can be usefull in some way and you need some help.

Also, a class without a troll is not a real class o_O

Moyack made an updated pack that you may be intersted in.

Fixed, now everyone should know what events, conditions, actions and variables are.

But not grammar apparently.

Also, i still wouldn't know what variable means. Maybe it means muffins? Maybe my muffin doesn't want to take this course...

A variable is like a box, to recognize which box is used for what, you give it a name.
You can then put stuff in your box and take it out again at a later state.
(this box is a very special box, whenever you take something from your box it will still be in your box unless you specifically clean it out)

Each box has it's own type which can only be used to put specific stuff in.

How about that as example of what a variable is ^.^?

Noooooo, I missed this thread. Been to busy in the editor. I'm working to refine systems and scripts in my map and need to learn JASS for making it much less laggy. Seems like limit of 15 people is reached, so I have to be an observer then :bored:

I have worked on GUI all these years so I know all the triggers, except my trigger organizing skills could need some improvement. JASS is unexplored terrotory for me as I have come to realise that I cannot make complicated maps with GUI, they lagg due to inefficient code.

Would be nice if the classes do make comparison with existing GUI triggers (if its possible) as it will help me what it really does, as just the wall of JASS texts alone confuses me as I'm not used to JASS at all.

Eeeerm... this is starting to look like a new triggers and scripts section specifically for jass, except that there will be structurized assignments.
I really hope I'm wrong here and it doesn't turn out like that, else the concept of "Jass classes" is kind of missinterpreted. We already have something similar.
Then it will be just another Jass section where people help eachother out with their problems. :)

But I'm sure Mag has come up with a brilliant plan for this? ಥ_ಥ
And with the support from our Chieftain, this thing will get huge.

where is the enrollee's list? :) since it focuses on begginers why dont you choose them? and since theres a problem with the teacher-student ration like, mag:15+ why dont others who know Jass well list their names here as an additional instructor? anyway only my opinion.

I want to resign my enrollment as a student and become an observer.
Or at least, be part of these classes and help out.

I think there are others who can take my place in a more efficient manner.
