I don't understand JASS, is there a way to do it in gui ?
GUI has 3 actions for cinematic filters: Fade Filter, Advanced Filter, Show/Hide Filter, none of which target a single player. With some custom script, you could form a local block but Fade Filter uses timers you are not allowed to desync. Advanced Filter aborts those timers, if you did not use Fade Filter anywhere, encapsulating Advanced Filter in a local block should be fine.
Show/Hide Filter only affects the visibility of the cinematic filter and does not touch the timers, therefore it's trouble-free to be inserted in a local block but it won't set the other cinematic filter parameters by itself.
If you decline jass, you basically discard a major part of wc3 mapping.
I don't discard, I even use some features on my map with JASS code, I just don't understand the code, therefore I only need someone to tell me how to properly use it, like I already did sometimes.

EdwardElric: i need to be able to create some buildings in the 32x32 grid. this works for buildings with no path texture & by creating them via triggers, but now im cluless how to simulate construction progress...
WaterKnight: after the structure is initiated, you can move it
WaterKnight: you may have to issue some extra actions though because structures are not meant to be moved originally
WaterKnight: like hide/reshow it
WaterKnight: so it notices the structure needs to be rerendered
WaterKnight: and the ubersplat adjusted
