Who the hell is calbert? and what? I didn't steal it.... I just got the idea... and if you call me a thief, I will report you.

EDIT: Calbert did a completely different Idea as I did... just read... -.-

Item name: Charm of Fool's luck

Item description: The wearer of this charm will be able to avoid a lot of harm, but will be as likely to fail when trying to do anything.

Effect: Increase the user' evasion and miss rate by n%. (n~50% or maybe more)

You see, mine is an ACTIVATED effect, which boosts the EVASION effect of my hero, but decreases the damage of my hero... now tell me... what did I steal? The WORD EVASION!?! are you kidding me?

@redscores: yes I believe that 2 people can have 1 similar idea. However to have an idea one needs to think, and you just don't do it. Which is why I don't believe in you.

Item system suggestion: Well, I was thinking, and in AoM, there were 4 types of items (Melee, Range, Mage, Misc). So a melee hero could not use a Range/Mage item, and ranged hero could not use a Melee/Mage item and so far. All heroes could use Misc items.
Personally I feel this makes perfect sense. After all, seeing a ranger with a kickass hammer model that shoots arrows makes no sense, and seeing a mage with a longbow that he can't use is quite silly.
What do you think?

I think this would be nice, because this way all melee items could have proper models and they would fit in all melee heroes. And ranged hero items could have proper models because they would fit into the ranger model hero and so on.
What do you think?

BTNBanhammer.pngThe Banhammer
"A standard Banhammer, used by many of the Hive's high-ranked warriors to protect the Hive from unwanted nuisances and powerful enemies alike."
+25 Damage
+3 armor
Ban: Gives a 3% chance that an attack will Ban the target for 15 seconds, prohibiting access to the Hive Base and any of the Hive's buildings. Whenever a banned unit moves near such a building, it will be knocked back, making him unable to enter anywhere in 150 radius around any Hive building. Banned units temporarily lose their ability to fight from lack of training, losing 15 damage until the ban is lifted.
Reforge: You may reforge the Banhammer to become the mighty Hivehammer at the Hive base if you have all of the reagents in your inventory: ITEM1, ITEM2, ITEM3, ITEM4, ITEM5.

BTNHivehammer.pngThe Hivehammer(Alternative name: Golden Maul)
[Unique]
"The mighty, golden hammer head is imbued with the letter "H" - enchanted with countless enchantments by the wisest of the Hive's men. It is said that it has passed from generation to generation of the Hive's mighty warriors, and was constantly re-forged when even the slightest scrap appeared on it, which was rarer than one might think."
+75 Damage
+500 hitpoints
+5 armor
Ban: Gives a 11% chance that an attack will Ban the target for 30 seconds, prohibiting access to the Hive Base and any of the Hive's buildings. Whenever a banned unit moves near such a building, it will be knocked back, making him unable to enter anywhere in 300 radius around any Hive building.
Banned units temporarily lose their ability to fight from lack of training, losing 30 damage until the ban is lifted.
Request Assistance: Request assistance from the Hive Workshop, summoning two Peons and a Raider to fight for you for a limited time.*

*Peons and Raiders should be like moderately weak summoned units, perhaps Raider should have a skill or two.

Great idea debode.
Also, I talked to Xarwin, you can not have a double, that is you can only have a hero or an item named after ya, YOU CAN NOT HAVE BOTH.

Slingshot
Slingshot.jpg

Once, carried by the young Mr.Goblin, this slingshot made out of wood and rubber-band, is a mighty weapon to badger the bad goblin guys.
+ 15 dmg
+ Abillity
Abillity: When using it, the Hero gets plus X movement speed, to run away from the bad goblin guys.

IMPORTANT: The icon is just a placeholder CNP. Don't use it. (If you like my idea)

Don't know :/ Just thought, like: A little goblin guy, that got badged from the older ones, wants 'vengance', and hides behind bushes. THen the older ones come and he attacks them with his slingshot. before they get him he runs away? That was that brang me to the idea, if you don't like it it's also ok.

EDIT: Ups, was too late
He should change it to a small stun, which boosts his movement speed for 10 seconds or so... that would make sense (escaping from the angry enemy).

jeah, something like that. I forgot to mention that the speed only holds for a few seconds :/

So according to item guidelines from what Xarwin told on the ideas thread, I see items must be created in this fashion:

- Strength -

Things that can be altered:

X add to Physical Damage.
Y add to Hit Points.
Z add to HP regen.

- Agility -

Things that can be altered:

X add to Attack Speed.
Y add to Move Speed.
Z add to Evasion.

- Inteligence -

Things that can be altered:

X add to Magical Damage.
Y add to Mana Points.
Z add to Mana Regen.

---------------------------------------------
What I think we can do is basicly distribute effects by item "levels", meaning that basic level items only add ONE of the effects above mentioned (ex: Base Strength Item adds Physical damage and nothing else).

Level 2 Base Items should be Auto items or minor recipe that require base ones, and add TWO of the effects mentioned above (ex: based on the previous item, it could be combined with another strength item for an auto or minor recipie, and add for example X Physical Damage + Y (other effect) like Hit Points).

Level 3 are Advanced Items that are late game, and require expensive level 2 items + a recipe. They add THREE of effects mentioned above (ex: using 2 level strength + a recipe would allow you to have a stronger item with more Physical damage, Hit Points and HP regen).

However.. we still need to consider that some advanced Items could be Hybrid ones, wich then need a similar system to be worked on.

Also we need to sort out how we consider morph attacks and orb effects to be considered into these categories or a category of their own. Of course this is really a on the spot thought solution but I think it might work with the system you guys have thought of for now.

Weight of Gold - Deals damage according to player's total gold times a certain value (I'd say 0.5) in physical damage. The user of this ability loses that much gold. May stun the target if the bribe is big enough.

I have a hero with an orb ability like this in one of my maps :p.

Far Seer's Torch
History: A small torch with magickal properties. It is used by Far Seers to help their allies in finding path in even the thickest darkness.
Flavor Text (Optional): Even a blind Shaman sometimes would need a torch, 'ey?
Icon: This is the best Torch Icon that I can found in Hive
Effects:
-Extra Sight-Range on Day
-On Night, you got your normal Day Sight-Range
-7%-15% Magic Resistance (TENTATIVE. MIGHT BE REMOVED)
-Spiritual Insight
At the cost of 50-100 Mana (Number Tentative), the caster will be able to detect invisible beings for 15-30 Seconds (Number Tentative). However, activating Spiritual Insight will remove the Magical Resistance benefit from Far Seer's Torch until the duration ends. Cannot be dispelled.

Overdrive Boots
History: A durable and surprisingly light boots. The wearer can channel his/her magick power to the boots and receive a massive extra speed, which people called "Overdrive"
Flavor Text (Optional): No, this boots is not produced by the company who made Phase Boots
Icon: This perhaps
Effects:
-+20% Movement Speed
-+4 Armor
-Overdrive
Channels the user's magick power into the boots, giving extra Movement Speed and makes the user blindingly fast. However, due to the massive speed, the user has a reduced chance to hit because the speed apparently gives a partial "blindness" to the user. Costs 80 Mana. Increases Movement Speed by another 20% and gives 15% Miss Rate
Requires:
-Boots of Speed
-Recipe?

Effect : Adds 30+ Damage, and Fiery Splash.
Requirements : Sword Plus + Fiery Essence

Dragon's Rage

Fire Essence

Icon : Fire Orb, or Kil'Jaeden's Orb. Either works.

Frozen Essence

Icon : Frost Orb (Is that the name?)

Icon : Orb Of Darkness
Effect : Adds 7+ Damage. Adds a Splash. (Costs more than Fiery and Frozen Essences.)

You can change the amounts of Damage I assigned if you want, :p

The only reason I am not making suggestions is because I am waiting for the attribute system. Btw, we also need basic items, which can't be made without knowing how the attributes are going to work. You should NOT give attention to top tier items when you don't have the basics yet. Everyone likes making awesome items, but the map will need more than just that.

That is the main reason I stopped posting item ideas, because we haven't even discussed HOW items should be made... I wrote the main idea on what I thought items would be created, based from what Xarwin said on the ideas thread, but nobody commented on it or said how it's supposed to be done... so I have no clue on what to post =S

So until someone clarifies how item creation should be made I think we should back down from high tier items and stick to basic mechanics, especially the attribute system.. since withough it we don't know how to apply item bonuses on the players.

Amen. We need to know what the attribute system Anachron is working on will support before we can all start making item suggestions. We need some clarifications Xarwin.

Alright then...

Basic Weapons:

icons_830_btn.jpg
Peon's Pickaxe
"The Hive's population consists mainly of Peons, who are both the citizens of the Hive as well as the Hive's workforce. The weapons of the peons are not made for war but rather for craft, but they still deal considerable damage."
+5 Damage

GruntAxe.pngGrunt's Handaxe
"The axe of a Grunt; a minor reinforcer of rules in a minor domain of the Hive. As the New Age began, the Grunts of the Hive lost their status as the Raiders took their responsibility of taking care of all the domains of the Hive. Many Grunts became Raiders during the New Age."
+10 Damage

Reagents:
2x Peon's Pickaxe

icons_2093_btn.jpg
Raider's Blade
"The powerful blade of a Raider of the Hive; an overlord with the responsibility of reinforcing the rules of the domains of the Hive as well as to be in charge of various facilities such as smithies, tanneries, magical altars and minor artistic workplaces."
+15 Damage

Reagents:
2x Grunt's Handaxe

BTNShamanMaster.pngShaman's Claw
"These ancient claws glow brightly with powerful energies. They seem to have belonged to a Shaman - a mighty leader who watches over the Raiders of the Hive. The status of a Shaman is the highest amongst the statuses of the Hive, except for the status of the Chieftain. One must be extremely skilled and powerful to attempt to become a Shaman."
+20 Damage
Purge(Chance-on-Hit): A hero which carries a Shaman's Claw has a 5% chance to Purge an enemy, slowing its movement speed by 75% and removing all positive buffs from it.

Reagents:
2x Raider's Blade

Basic Armor:

icons_1335_btn.jpg
Peon's Coat
"The armor of a Peon. A fine piece of cloth, but almost useless in combat."
+1 Armor

icons_1334_btn.jpg
Grunt's Harness
"A few old stripes of leather, connected together to form a barely reliable protection. Those were used by the old Grunts of the Hive."
+2 Armor

Reagents:
2x Peon's Coat

icons_1324_btn.jpg
Raider's Chestpiece
"Used by the Raiders of the Hive, this tough metal chestpiece provides good protection against most kinds of weapons."
+3 Armor

Reagents:
2x Grunt's Harness

BTNShamanRobes.pngShaman's Robe
"This magically enchanted armor provides great protection against all kinds of magic or physical damage. It has been crafted by the most talented magi and tailors of the Hive to serve as mighty armor for the Shamans of the Hive."
+4 Armor
Magical Barrier(Passive): A hero which carries a Shaman's Robe has the ability to block 10 damage every 5 seconds. Damage can not be reduced below 3.

Reagents:
2x Raider's Chestpiece

Some of those items are not basic at all for God sake. Some of the should be recipes for which you would need to use the attribute system (which isn't decided yet). We don't even know if it will be possible to simply increase the damage without changing the other attributes !!

Can you guys PLEASE stop posting suggestions ? We need to create the attribute system first and we need to understand it's basic functions !!!

Huh, I have a few MORE suggestions :D
Troll's Scythe
Description : Many a Troll enter the Hive, and use this scythe to slice reasonable posts in half, causing rampant chaos on forums.
Effect : Adds NO damage, just (30%?) Attack Speed.

Rager's Raging Axe
Description : Even worse than the Trolls, Rager's make LESS sense than Trolls and blatantly hack and slash at topics they feel like ruining.
Requirements : Troll's Scythe + Fel Warrior Aura
Effect : 10+ Damage and INSANE (70%, Etc, your choice) Attack Speed. (-5?) to (Intelligence/Willpower/Whatever you're assigning Int to be.)

Fel Warrior Aura
Description : This Aura corrupts many reasonable people on the Hive, driving them mad.
Effect : 25% Boost to Attack, 10% Boost to Attack Speed.

Ninjas for Dummies Handbook
Description : Ninjas for Dummies lets you, too, be as stealthy as a Ninja! (Side effects include growing Anime Hair, the ability to shoot beams from your hands, and actually not be stealthy at all.)
Effect : Lets you become Invisible for 20 Seconds. Decreases Movement Speed during that time.

Random ideas for random icons i found.

EDIT:
Didn't see the no atribute bonus rule :p
Stat bonuses i wrote should be replaced as the following 1 of the bonuses:
10 inteligence points equals to 120 mana points or 1.7 mana regen.
10 agility points equals to 7% attack speed or 1.7 armor.
10 strength points equals to 100 health or 3.5 damage.

I am too lazy to actually do it. Gonna do it when i get some free time. Atm school is top priority.

Edit2:
Some info about the atribute system would be nice.

Okay, heres my suggestion!
(These are starting items like in dota, but more advanced. Like those 3+ to all stats and 3+ to specific stat, like ''Null Talisman'')

These all are recipe items ( I haven't invented the previous items, but I think hive community is so clever to invent few)

(Crimson Blade) (Name can be changed)
(strenght based)
- 3+ all stats
- X amount of increased hp
- X amount of increased regeneration (HP)
- X amount of increased damage

(Vest) (Name can be changed)
(Agility Based)
- 3+ all stats
- X amount of increased movements speed
- X amount of increased attack speed
- X amount of increased defence

(Warlock's Cape) (Name can be changed)
(Intelligence based)
- 3+ all stats
- X amount of increased maximum mana
- X amount of increased regeneration (MP)
- X amount of increased (INVENT SOMETHING)

Haven't read whole thread so I hope these aren't invented!

Hope these helps you Xarwin!

So, I herd u liek itens!

Adamant Orb
History:
A strange Orb glowing with a dim blue light. Its as hard as a Diamond can be. It seems to alter the flow of time near it.
Icon: Still searching... This would fit.
Effects:
- +10 Armor
- +300 Health
- Time Alter (Active. 200 Mana. 3 Minutes Cooldown)
When Time Alter is activated, there's a 50% Chance of Time Rewind, 40% 70% Chance of Time Forward, 10% Chance of Time Stop, and 20% chance that the Orb will refuse the command of its master. Affects 500 AoE. Effects:
-Rewind: Pulls back the condition of surrounding area to 10 Seconds before, returning the value of Health, Mana, and Cooldown to how it was 10 seconds ago. Dead units will NOT be revived. (Removed after reconsideration brought upon by HailFireer's and Kingz's Posts)
-Forward: Accelerates the condition of nearby area, canceling Spells and removes all buffs (Includes the ones received from Passive Skills and Passive Items). Buff removal from Passive Skills and Passive items lasts for 5 Seconds.
-Stop: Locks the time in nearby area for 7 Seconds. Due to the Adamant Orb's powers, the wielder is protected from this condition. Stops all nearby units from moving in any way possible.

Okay. Will make another later.

And Forward time is really not that like going throughout in time...
I mean removing all buffs? Even Passive? That wouldn't happen in the future...

Also, Kingz, I looked through your ideas. Nice! Some are really creative.

Its a nice idea, but could it not be an orb? Maybe a cloak? Or staff? Or something? Most ideas are orbs...
No. 'Cuz Orbs are awesome.

It is far too complicated to make.

You need to keep track of every unit's health on the map for 7 seconds if you have that item in the game.
The cooldown i have no idea how you think to rewind.

Imo, that is my opinion.
Well, yeah. It's more related to "Space" rather than "Time". Will change it.

Retinkering now. Hopefully it looks better.

Are you kidding me?

It was a pain to make the tables for the initial list now i have to reconfigure it again...

You should have defined the layout on the start...

EDIT:

Also you need to have custom icons for items.
Common sense, you can't make so much items from the boring blizz icons.

And blizz icons are boring.

Xarwin, change the rules to forbid posting of any reply that doesn't have items submitted. like in the hero tread.
And doesn't matter what icon they submit. We will see if something else better can be used latter.

Nope. Second line was an answer to you. first one was for Xarwin as he said don't spa, while he should ban any unneeded posts.
