~Elite Heroes Unleashed~
The War of Gods Has Begun

Altered Classic Melee — Rewritten in Power and Style!

Step into a battlefield where strategy meets legend. Built on the foundation of classic altered melee, this custom map ascends into something far greater, fusing intense real-time combat with rich RPG progression and a touch of survival to keep you on edge.
Forge legendary heroes, face off against epic bosses, and battle the vile legions of Hellfire Demons and nightmarish eldritch entities born of the Void. Command your forces in a world where every choice is power... and every moment is war!

Unleash elite versions of every race’s iconic heroes, each with enhanced unique abilities and a brand-new signature spell. These elite heroes aren’t mere upgrades of the originals, they’re war-forged legends, reshaped for devastation.

Currently, the map includes only 6 custom classic elite heroes and 4 secret heroes that are unlocked by playing the second stage of the map.

Humans:
Lucerion Class: Seraphic Paladin

Malakai Class: Nephilic Paladin

Orcs:
Lupgar
Class: Feral Blademaster

Night Elf:
Anorindor'aar
Class: High Keeper of the Grove

Nirvandel’zaar Class: Dark Keeper of the BlackThorns

Other:
W.T.I.I.
Class: Greedomancer

Game Features:

⚔️ Elite Heroes
– Call forth high-tier champions like the High Keeper of the Grove or his twisted nemesis, the Dark Keeper of the BlackThorns (which features custom voice lines and fully unique powers). These aren't just stronger versions... they're legends reborn, ascended beyond mortal limits.

⚙️ Streamlined Hotkeys & Cooldowns – All elite heroes and units use QWER hotkeys. No more clunky, frustrating hotkeys, command with speed and precision!

✨ Elite Spell Scaling & Synergy – All elite hero spells scale with hero stats, delivering true RPG-style progression.
Q spells scale with Agility, W with Strength, E with Intelligence, and R with the hero’s primary attribute. Each hero’s unique passive draws strength from all stats, forging a path of perfect synergy and limitless growth.
To match their might, most spell icons have been reforged in high resolution and vivid color, like echoes of Warcraft IV breaking through from a parallel realm, offering a glimpse of what could have been.

👑 Custom Bosses From ancient titans to corrupted monstrosities, unique bosses stalk the land. Defeat them for game-changing rewards and brutal showdowns.

💠 Custom Units – Legends come to life! Epic creeps, ancient beasts, and twisted monstrosities roam the map, and as long as you've got the cash, you can summon them from special buildings to wreak havoc and show off their might.

💀 Demons vs Void – A divine war rages behind the scenes. Hellfire Demons and Void-born horrors clash across the world, altering the very tides of battle.

🎁 Epic Item System – Discover and forge tons of new legendary items. Your arsenal is your fate.
NormalEnchantedRareEpicLegendaryMythicGodlikeAscendedForgotten

🌌 Unbound Neutral XP
– Tear through the wilderness. Gain experience from any neutral, with no level cap stopping your rise. Even defensive structures now grant experience when they slay foes, restoring the Rain of Chaos legacy, where every kill, be it beast, man, or fortress, fed your ascent.

🧠 Level Cap Increased – Heroes can now reach level 100, unlocking powers once thought lost to myth.

📚 Tome Autopickup System – Normal tomes are instantly absorbed when near your hero (within 333 AoE). No clicking needed! Only the rare, powerful tomes require manual pickup, because true power must be earned.

🌿 Respawning Wilds – Most neutral units return after 2 minutes, keeping the world alive, dangerous, and rich with XP.

🎒 Epic Personal Backpacks – Every hero enters battle with a unique companion, a living backpack that carries spoils straight into the heart of war. No more drop juggling. No more retreats. Bring everything you need to conquer.

The backpack holds two switchable inventories, granting 12 additional slots beyond the hero’s classic six. All inventories are fully interlinked, allowing item combinations and effects to function seamlessly, no matter where the components are stored.
More than a carrier, the backpack is also a mobile merchant. Its first two slots serve as a selling point, instantly offloading unwanted items, eliminating the need to seek out shops in the midst of battle.
War waits for no one. Neither should your inventory.

🔨 Empowered Workers No Food Cost, Twice the Training Speed. Expand harder. Conquer smarter.

📊 Agility Rework – Every point of Agility now grants +1% attack speed and +0.3% movement speed.

🦄 Unique and Bizarre Critters – A Magical Safari Gone Wrong!
The wilds are alive… with enchantments, curses, and chaos! These mystical creatures roam the world with powerful defenses and quirky abilities. Squashing them is easier said than done, but if you succeed, the rewards are yours to claim! Don’t be fooled by their looks...these critters may seem harmless, but what they lack in aggression, they make up for in sheer resilience. Underestimate them, and you’ll soon learn just how stubborn survival can be.

✨ Enchanted Critters – Small, magical oddities with absurd mechanics.

🐇 Lucky Rabbit {Enchanted} – 100% Evasion. Spells only. No sword shall touch this lucky little menace.

🦌 Mystic Stag {Enchanted} – 99% Magic Resistance. Physical blows will do the trick - unless you have a god-tier spell ready.

🐸 Immortal Frog {Enchanted} – Insane HP Regen. Can be hurt, sure - but can you outpace its healing?

🎭 Rare Critters – Stranger powers. Rarer finds. Trickier prey.

🦝 Phantom Raccoon {Rare} – Constantly Phase Shifting in and out of reality. Can’t hit what barely exists.

🐔 HexHen {Rare} – Get too close and it’ll hex the heck out of you. No remorse, just clucks.

🐺 Moonfang Wolf {Rare} – Uses Lunar Howl to shred armor and gut your damage. Beautiful and terrifying.

💀 Epic Critters – Now it’s personal. These beasts are armed with lethal auras and spells.

🐘 Hellspike TuskLord [Epic] – Hellspike Aura: Approach, and your skin will remember the mistake.

🦂 Sandrift DuneLord [Epic] – Shifting Sand Aura: Time itself slows to a crawl in his presence. Better bring your patience along.

🌌 Soulrend NetherLord [Epic] – Nether Devour Magic: All spells are devoured. Feed him or flee him.
Nether Burn: Anyone foolish enough to attack him shall be punished!

❄️ Legendary Critters – Living avatars of raw essence, each an apex entity with terrifying defenses.

🧠 Mindseal Archon [Legendary] – Mindseal Shield: A perfected form of Mana Shield that nullifies all types of damage through sheer mental will. The living embodiment of Intelligence.
Mirror of Madness: Any being daring enough to strike the Mindseal is condemned to face its own inner demon, forced into battle against the reflection of itself.

💪 Mightclaw Archon [Legendary] – Glacial Vitality: Doubles his natural regeneration to mythic levels. An unyielding juggernaut. The living embodiment of Strength.
Mighty Push: The Mightclaw Archon unleashes his colossal strength, hurling back any foolhardy attacker daring enough to lay a hand on him.

🌀 Mistdash Archon [Legendary] – Icefeather Veil: Enshrouded in chilling frost, he grants a magical icy buff armor to himself. The living embodiment of Resilience.
Frosta la Vista, Baby: The Mistdash Archon calls forth his raging bodyguard - Snowminator The Mad Snowman - to deal with anyone frosty and foolish enough to attack him.

🌀 Will you rise as a god... or be consumed by the war?
Step into the heart of the storm — and test the strength of your resolve.

Recommended to play with classic graphics and as the red player in single-player. The game can also be played with Reforged graphics, but I haven’t tested it much in that mode.

In reign of chaos (patch 1.00 I assume) neutral creeps always gave your heroes XP, without a level cap preventing that???

Well, you can now gain XP beyond level 5 from neutral hostile units, which isn’t possible in normal melee games. That’s what I meant.

I periodically check your ratings to quickly find something interesting. I'm glad you released your own map.

The first time I didn't really understand what was going on and finished the game pretty quickly (speeding up the process with the -iseedeadpeople).

So I spent a bit more time with your map, and overall, I’ve realized I’m drawn to the darker side of the heroes.

For the NE, I went with the Dark Keeper of the BlackThorns (top hero for me), and for the humans, the Nephilic Paladin.

Since peasants don’t require food, game goes smooth and fast.

The world feels really alive—sometimes almost too alive (Zarnak the Chronicler definitely tested my patience at first!)

I especially enjoyed the clash between Demons and the Void, and the beautiful locations really stood out.

To sum it up:

Pros:

  • Runs incredibly smoothly with no bugs—seriously impressive!
  • A truly living, breathing world.
  • Tons of progression with leveling, items, and bosses.
  • Clever new mechanics, like auto-collecting books.
  • Excellent anti-cheat system(with humor!!!).
  • WTII as Hero!

Cons:

For me, the main drawback is the map size—mostly due to the icons and music. With current hard drive costs, I’ll have to delete older versions after updates.
Since I know you’re a fan of the classic Warcraft style, as a fellow old-school enthusiast, I’d gently suggest maybe revisiting some of the icons to either align them more with that aesthetic or reduce their file size a bit.

Wow, thanks for playing my map and for the review.

“The first time, I didn’t really understand what was going on and finished the game pretty quickly (speeding up the process with -iseedeadpeople).”

What exactly do you mean by this? Did you use -iseedeadpeople and my anti-cheat system didn’t activate, or what? cuz it works for me.

Also, by finishing the game "too quickly", do you mean you completed all the main quests and defeated the other player? I assume that’s what you mean, because there is a second stage to the map that you can access by finishing all quests and completely killing the enemy player. After that, you have to type -ready when the message shows up, and u get new main quests, and after u defeat the final end game boss you get the real ending.

i like this but if i build any normal hero from the factions or a 2nd hero it says i used warpten but i dont at all an honestly it pisses me off to no end

I’m really sorry about that, it was actually a bug and it’s fixed now, so please try the map again!

Also a small tip, I suggest playing with just one hero, preferably an elite hero. Those scale way better and make finishing the map a lot easier.

Classic heroes are more of a hardcore experience. They can still get strong with good items, especially if you complete some legendary recipes, but their spells don’t really scale much.

Definitely a wacky experience.

For a shared experience and some multiplayer spice, a sort of Archon mode would be a nice implementation.

Approved.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

Hi. I played your map it's fun but it needs some adjustments. if you can do it co-op not pvp (1v1) raise the difficulty to match because it will be co-op and fix so you don't get de-sync anymore because I tried to play with someone and I got de-sync twice in a row. And there in the Altar where you summon your hero the one which has the pit lord icon ( i guess he is the pit lord ) says Tool tip missing!

I see, I guess I could make it co-op instead of PvP, that does sound like a good idea, maybe even as a different mode? i will think about it.

Desyncs? Hmm, did you play using the latest version with classic graphics? The map is optimized only for that, I didn’t test it with any other version or with Reforged graphics.

I have no idea which altar you’re talking about that can summon a hero with a Pit Lord icon. Some pictures would be nice so I can see exactly what you mean, that would help me fix the issue. And of course thanks for playing my map!
