I think I would enter this, actually, but the coding job seems really lame compared to the modeling one. Oh well, good luck to those of you entering.

This is an early wip of some of the shoreline terrain. The rain effect (in-game) models are a little bugged in this pic, don't mind them.

I think you should create a map development thread to discuss your project. Here it is too spammy.
And this thread then remains to team searching and general constest-concerned questions.
Also your ideas won't be shown to everyone that's interested on the contest this way.

Still searching for a team, as a modeller.

Hmm, seems like someone is a busy bee. Right to work; and very cool WIP, BTW. (LOL, WIP BTW BBQ ROFL ETC...)

So did you get to talking with Xatoga yet? If the MSN thing won't work due to time-schedules, I really think I should just set up a Pastebin (or rather, Xatoga should, since only the creator can seem to post attachments, and he'll need to show us model WIPs).

I can't ask where my teammate lives?...

I was kidding. You fully have the right to ask. I also have the right to be secretive. :p

And if you don't like the only member on the team that's actually working, then I think you're a bit greedy. In less you start busting out good-quality spells, I'll quit.

Ok, listen. Where in my post did I complain about your work? In fact, I only said "wow, that's great work" and "good job, Scyth". I'm totally cool with your terraining; again, good work, so far as I've seen.

However, think about this, slowly and clearly. How in the world can I work on any spells, heroes, units, buildings, or anything, when we haven't even talked with each other and planned anything?? Honestly. Not trying to be rude, but you keep assaulting me with that line, "make moar spells or I quitzorz". I can't do anything until we talk (which would be a lot more dependable on a Thread, might I add...)

... I've got plenty of concepts, but I want to make sure they're ok with you guys before I just barge off. Especially because Xatoga has to model what I/we come up with; I need his feedback even more.

However, I'll make a thread and send you the link.

(Sorry, my above outburst was perhaps a bit... rash. I just don't understand how I can work on stuff without talking first.)

On a completely unrelated note, here are some more WIPs.

Gold Mine:
To the right of that grand statue and that gold mine, is the starting location for player 1.

Shallow Water:
Shallow water with creeps in between the two marshes.

It's kinda hard to tell from this angle. I'm sure it's fine.

That tavern seems a bit random. Perhaps add some rocks or something around that area.

There's a lot of foliage there, and lots of bushes and flowers, it looks fine in-game.

nice terrain but i dont think that the mana siphon effects look good in the water :p

You're supposed to just ignore those, those are place mats for the rain really, until I can find a better effect.

Lookin' good, Scyth. Although what exactly are the mana-siphon things in the water? Whirlpools??

(Or is your map themed, like "this area is so infused with arcane magic from the Dalaran Mage's experiments, that... blah blah blah"?

Again, they're placemats. This is actually a crushed Imperium, a small rebellious castle led by a tyrant, and now enticed in forest and ruin.
