Windswept Isle

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
Off the coast of Kalimdor, ocean winds ravaged this once lush oasis, but rising tides have begun to rejuvenate this windswept isle.

Classic 1v1 Melee map on the Barrens Tileset, featuring
  • 2 Main Gold Mines (12500 each)
  • 4 Expansion Gold Mines (12500 each)
  • 10 Green Camps
  • 10 Orange Camps
  • 2 Red Camps
  • 2 Goblin Merchants
  • 2 Goblin Laboratory
  • 2 Mercenary Camps (Barrens)
  • 1 Tavern
  • 2 Fountain of Health

I felt like the Barrens tileset was severely underrepresented in competitive 1v1 maps so I wanted to try my hand at it. The Barrens has an interesting mercenary camp with two situationally useful units: Centaur Outrunner, a great body blocker with his fast movement speed, and Harpy Windwitch, a flying caster with Faerie Fire and Abolish Magic. Additionally, the centaur and quillboar creeps offer some interesting variation to the usual Ogre/Gnoll/Troll/Bandits that most maps use. Most interestingly, the Quillboar Medicine Man can summon 2 Spirit Pigs, effectively taking his camp from level 14 to 18, and the Centaur Khan guarding the red spot has Reincarnation which may lead to interesting creepjacking situations.

Terrain is (mostly) laid out how I like, but doodads, grass, etc. are not final and the blue side of the map is more WIP than the red side, however the map is playable and balanced (i.e. symmetrical) in its current state. I will appreciate all feedback as this is my first time making a 1v1 melee map (or any map, for that matter).

WIP:
  • Green (and some orange) camps are maybe too hard, probably reduce difficulty Nerfed some camps, pending further balancing
  • Finish grass/doodads on p2 side mostly done, will tinker forever probably
  • Item drops balance pass (after creep camp balance)
  • Goblin Laboratory cliff pathing can be weird and cause you to walk too close to the creep camp Moved some doodads, moved lab and creep position closer to edge of cliff
  • Out of bounds terrain/doodad placement
  • More terrain/height variation

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
