Wild-Hunt [1.1.1]

LOOPERION's
Wild-Hunt
VERSION 1.1.1

Legends speak of an island where the fiercest come to test their skill, strength, and greed.
Few return, and those who do, never speak of who hunted last.

. . .

ABOUT
Cooperate or compete with your fellow hunters, hunt hostiles for gold and kill enough for glory.
Upgrade your hunter, and survive until the end of the hunt.
The game progresses through Phases 1–5, with each phase lasting 6 minutes.
Most events in the game are random, including drops, encounters, and more.
Hostile spawn rate and calamity appearances scales with how many hunters are alive currently.
Many secrets are hidden throughout the game, hunt them down to gain advantages or rewards.
You may only use one weapon at a time, picking up another weapon will replace your current one.
To sell unwanted dropped weapons, use the (D) Sell Item ability on items for additional gold gain.
Glory are earned when playing multiplayer based on your total kills: 25 Kills = 1 Glory.
These points are saved when your hunter dies or at the game end, and it can be spent before the game starts on vanity skins for your hunter.

Wild-Hunt [1.1.1] (Map)

It's a nice action survival multiplayer map. Would be nice for the hero changes not to come with losing CTR+1/unit group (can use Berserker upgrade for this for example). There's a lot of running around but it seems fun even if I'm not into animal...
Gosh gosh gosh , this was so great!
absolutely loved the gameplay loop

Once you get the hand of it it's amazingly fun , love the variety of weapons along with skills , the tamming system and more.

the only and biggest cons is that for my taste it felt a bit too short.

thank you so much for making this

(this is a copy from my comment in the og post , leaving it here in the map so others can see it too!)

I already gave this map few tries, and in short: it is fun!

The weapon system is simple, for an example the first weapon we got which is the club--is going to have an upgrade/a better version of it down the line when you reached other phases (the game is divided into 5 phases and each phase consist of 6 minutes) and of course there is some unique weapon here and there that drops if you are lucky enough and can easily change the whole game tempo if you equip one of those. (Pistol and Flamethrower my beloved!)

The upgrade system is quite complex and simple at the same time, if you had luck leaning more into heavier weapon you might want to invest into more attack speed/armor upgrade and vice versa just to fit your play style. I wish there's going to be an implementation in the future where if you killed one of the event/special mobs there's going to be a special weapon.

Talking about special mobs, I wish the dragons and the ancient were one of the huntable ones as well. Right now the current game is fun enough for 30 mins gameplay though! Good job on the map, keep up the good work!

(There's a single typo on the upgrade button btw, "Spend you gold" instead of "Spend your gold")

Thank you for the overwhelming review!
  • I'm glad to hear that you like the weapon and upgrade systems. I think these two carries the gameplay a lot, which it looks like it works hahaha.
  • Event/Special units guarantees a random drop to their corresponding phases (with a boosted chance for better quality weapons). As for the dragons/ancient/phoenix (calamities) I would like to keep them that way so that the hunters will have something to be cautious of, instead;
  • New unique/special weapons will be available through "secrets" (which will also be randomized in every game session) in the next update, I'm currently making 7 of them right now. I would like to say that they'll be quiet fun to use as well.

Thank you for pointing out the typo, if you find any bugs or problems do notify me again!

There's a lot of running around but it seems fun even if I'm not into animal killing.
Enemies seem to overwhelm and become stronger faster than the hunter has time to.

Approved.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
